I love both but Dragon Ball was definitely better to me

Dragon Ball was awesome in it's last arcs but the beginning was just so sloooow and boring with that blue guy as a villain. 

The red Ribbon arc is an arc I'm not a fan of too, however both Piccolo's arc were awesome 

 

The saiyans, Freeza, the androids, cell...all of these were the same quality as the Piccolo's arc if not better

 

I'm not that fan of Majin Boo saga though even if it has Videl in it

I'm just saying. People aren't as bright. We made 50 Shades popular by storm. We made Michael Bay look like Stanley Kobrick. We made crap into gold. We made black and white films unwatchable. The list goes on and on.

Maybe it's just new generation just keep on slipping.

shippuden gets promoted more than part 1. that doesn't mean it's better than part 1. in fact, the things i dislike about shippuden can be easily applied to dbz, like the support characters being forgotten.

Well if we get Kai on Shippuuden only, then you're right. Still, part 1 does get revisited many times in Shippuuden and marketing. DBZ literally is saying the story begins when Raditz invaded. That's how Kai promoted. Shippuuden needs part 1 when you truly think about it. That's why Naruto is a complete mess while DB series can get screwy here and there, it doesn't really ruin the overall. Just another story to be told.

Same here, there are things I do love about DBZ though like when it comes to what Piccalo went through with Gohan, Vidal, etc. Although it kinda annoy me to an extent with the content array of Goku supposedly dying in every arc minus Buu Saga. it's like Sayain Arc Goku dies, Freiza Goku dies in the end, and Cell Saga Goku dies it was getting really repetitive. Although I can understand why it was the case the 3rd time cause  it was Goku's way of passing the torch to Gohan.Even though that didn't really happen in the Buu Saga which really bugged me alot. Although I will say Toriyama did properly develop Gohan and Vidal's relationship (not that pairings were a big deal in DB or DBZ) but it did develop, and GokuxChichi to an extend due to the promise Goku kept to her when they were kids. 

 

Speaking of DBZ, what's the overall rating on the new movie?

DBZ is nowhere near the level of the kitten that shippuuden turned out to be, seeing you guys compare one with the other is killing me inside

lol. i can't remember ever feeling real terror from any of the villains in dbz. but i damn sure remember the terror i felt when tao entered the show. i think he was the first villain that outclassed goku in every single way. and jfc, remember his transportation? it was a kittening pillar! it doesn't get more badass than that.

Most badass fight in DB and DBZ was Piccolo vs Goku in the tournament. 

 

That was the epitome of what a pure shounen is meant to be

 

It was also the first time Goku won a tournament if I'm not mistaken

Exactly. Cell, it was slowly declining but it didn't happen completely. Then, Buu Saga happen.

But in terms of Goku keep "dying," don't forget that many of them were "endings" but of course, the demand keeps on calling, so new saga keep on coming.

Lastly, the rating are mixed. It's not the worst, but I can see many of us going to negative side.
