Most of the popular pairings in Japan are yaoi but N/S is also popular in Japan we have proof of this with a mangaka drawing Naruto and Sakura as keychains on a school bag which was made for the Naruto fan book. Obviously N/H fans made the same picture very crappy but it was of Naruto and Hinata.

Still, Kishi will not ruin Sakura's development so far just because SS is the most popular in Japan! If he does that, it is his credibility as a writer that will go seriously down.

If Sakura does turn out to be a double agent that still would place her under what Kakashi said "Those who betray their comrades are less than scum/garbage" No matter how you slice it, going off with Sasuke is still betrayal.

It won't be betrayal if she did told someone about her plan like Shikamaru.

But this also seems like deja vu this is all parallel to what Tsunade did with Orochimaru. She agreed to heal his arms and she ended up betraying him fighting him.

Yeah, I think it's a ploy to get close enough to stab Sasuke with a poisoned senbon or something like that. I think it will play out somewhat similarly, and Naruto and Kakashi (and Sai?) will arrive on the scene like Naruto, Shizune and Jiraiya did.

Some thoughts here- Sakura has another similarity now to Naruto before part 2. She doesn't believe many people care about her, and believes even those that do could easily come to hate her. She believes Naruto hates her already. She's going to believe the team she picked to find Sasuke will hate her. She probably believes Ino will hate her. She sees herself as someone few will mourn her death. Maybe her parents and Shizune and Tsunade (if she ever wakes up). She thinks she's rationally made herself the sacrifice because she believes:

1)She loves Naruto intensely and wants to protect him- Naruto has already sacrificed too much in her eyes, and Naruto won't ever believe Sasuke is irredeemable.
2) Sasuke is a great threat to Naruto and the ninja world as a whole, he must be eliminated as soon as possible, as a former team mate she believes it's her duty to kill him quickly and as mercifully as possible.
3)She believes in Naruto with all her heart and will sacrifice herself for his dream- she knows he's the child of prophecy, after all. So she believes if he lives and become Hokage he will end this terrible cycle of warfare for good. No future generations will have to live like this.
4)She doesn't believe she's anyone important, her family is clearly a pretty low ranking ninja family with no great history
5)She doesn't realize how valuable she is in and of herself and how many people care about her
6)She has taken in and believes the ninja code a bit too strongly for her own good

I think we may be looking at a grand set-up for a heroic fight and rescue starring Naruto. If Sasuke somehow decides to let Sakura join him it's going to be for a reason. He'll use her like a captive and throw away the key. Sakura may think she can take on Sasuke but she still doesn't know anything about Madara. She still thinks he's "Tobi" for crying out loud. I can't see how this wont turn out to be just another huge mistake on her part. Naruto will have to save her from herself.

Exacly, Sakura's the smartest Kunoichi in her generation ( If I'm not mistaken). No doubt that she told someone her plan. That would also be a good reason, espacially if Kishi have made us believe that Shikamaru'll be Naruto's confident.

danm dont jump the gun dfam u need to think clearly of what sakura is doing i had the same reaction before, she is going to try kill him when shes with him when shes off gaurd , it a very sakura thing to do soo shes not OOC doing somthing extreamly suisidle that we thought she would do last week

Quite honestly, I don't like the way the chapter has been scripted. But, I suppose some of it makes a little sense.

Sakura knows she can't overpower Sasuke in a toe-to-toe fight, so her best hope is to assassinate him while his guard is down. After stabbing Karin, Sasuke is short of a medic-nin, so Sakura would be a useful replacement (how convenient, Kishi).

Of course, we know Sasuke plans to attack Konoha next, so there's the danger that he won't accept a Konoha ninja as his companion - even one who publicly proclaims she's cut all ties. There's the chance he may just stab Sakura on the spot. If that happens, she's really going to need Naruto and Kakashi as backup, as Madara is also there.

Looking at how Karin is out of action, I think Sasuke will ultimately decide to take Sakura along so he can be quickly healed - but he won't trust her at all. Naruto and Kakashi will be too late, but they'll find Karin. I just hope Sakura has the opportunity to slip Karin a few tablets to help keep her alive. Since Kishi has also conveniently made Karin a former Konoha ninja, she could ally with Naruto and Kakashi if she can heal herself up enough. Never discount Naruto's ability to change people!

Naruto... oh boy, Naruto. He was already determined to find and stop/save Sasuke but, now faced with the possibility that he may also lose Sakura, he'll tear the world apart to find them. As long as they've left even the slightest trace he can follow, he will not stop running after them.

Which brings another danger. Sakura's plan could backfire spectacularly in her face - her "defection" leading Naruto right into a trap. If Sasuke and Madara capture Naruto, Sakura will never forgive herself.

EDIT: I see a few people are panicking about the possibility of SasuSaku. DON'T WORRY! Sakura can see how much Sasuke has changed, and we all know how she has been getting closer to Naruto. SasuSaku is not going to happen at all.

I honestly welcome the chance for Sakura to confront Sasuke. There is the potential for it to go horribly wrong, but at the same time, she needs to resolve her feelings for Sasuke. This is giving her that chance. You seriously can't expect her to be able to look Naruto in the eye the next time she sees him and tell him she's over her feelings for Sasuke without fully burying her feelings for him? I hope that this is not just a plot set-up to eventually bring Sasuke down, but to help Sakura to come to terms with her true feelings.

Also, it wouldn't be that farfetched for Sasuke to let Sakura into his group. Afterall, she did promise him years ago that she would do anything for him. He hasn't seen Sakura in the time she's been developing as a kunoichi so there isn't anything that would tell him she would renege on her word.

Ive got a few N/H fans going off on Sakura about joining Sasuke after confessing to Naruto. I didn't even argue, it'd be like speaking to a wall. Im not upset about it, people already hated Sakura so who who cares.


I think Madara knows her intent but is going to let her join. Like smiter said, he already is obsessed with bringing back Sasuke, and now Sakura has gone off? You've got yourself some tantalizing bait to capture the nine tails. He and Sasuke could ambush Naruto and capture him.


Im not feeling any worry for our pairing, there's no way Sakura is going to revert back to a fangirl and suddenly attack her home village. As ciardha already stated, she is willing to make a lot of sacrifices. This is kishi's way of making her a heroine. This is her arc so to speak.


The only thing im upset about is that this might drag out a bit, and im very impatient as it is waiting a week for another chapter.

sakura's actually being smart... she knows that she's no match for sasuke in a head-to-head battle, so she's using the fact that she was in love with sasuke and still seems to be devoted to him as a decoy.

siiiiiince this is also a prediction thread, i'm guessing that IF sasuke accepts sakura's preposition, her plan will work out (kishi DID say that she won't be making any mistakes afterall) she'll lure him into... naruto's clutches or something? and then the final battle begins! or something lol.
