Ididn't liked the new desing at all, and the fact that they trying to make super heros more teen oriented kind of ruins everything. Just look at this guy, he looks like skin and bones, it takes more than that to make an real spiderman.

I may be wrong, but the beginning of Spider Man IS teen oriented. He's a socially awkward geek in High School who gains super powers. He then has problems balancing school/social life and super heroing. Besides, it's just 1 picture, can't really call an entire movie still in production as a 'teen oriented that ruins everything' when the main character is already a teen. Besides, some depictions of Spider Man also make him to be thin, lanky, wiry...what have you.

Let's not forget, this new Spider-man is based off of Ultimate Spider-man who's cover for volume one looks like this:

Compared to this depiction of Spidey, Andrew Garfield's Spidey look is a porker.

So who's gonna watch the Green Hornet?

I might watch it for Jay Chou as Kato... representing Taiwanese pride. XD

I saw it, i found it to be a lot of fun, Chou and Rogan were the best part, I found the villain to be a little lacking though.

Saw the Green Hornet, courtesy of some family friends.

Was pretty good. Expected it to be crap, but it was good. The acting made me cringe at some places, but Jay Chou's English was pretty good to pull it off. Seth Rogen just balances his role perfectly.

So, it's been announced, Anne Hathaway will play Catwoman. Tom Hardy will play Bane in the new Batman sequel.

I think Anne can pull off the sexiness required. I would've liked Jessica Biel.. but...

I dunno, I'm not sure Biel has what it takes; I wasn't exactly... impressed with her last couple superhero movie outings.

I'm not too familiar with Hathaway, but I trust Nolan knows what he's doing; he's earned that much, I think.

Well seeing as though the first Spiderman movie has Peter in highschool for all but 30mins, I can say that it's fine. If they're going for the Ultimate Spiderman type theme, I think the guy they got looks fine. Not too enthusiastic about the costume change but at least it isn't CG-ed on.

I can't believe it, some people wanted the Riddler (to be play by Johnny Depp) and it didn't happen 111189.gif . It was a nice move to add Catwoman but adding Bane (my second favorite villian from Batman) into the mix, it's gonna be more awesome. I hope Nolan can pull it off and it doesn't end up like Spiderman 3.

I'm just wondering how they'd fit Bane's uber-physique to the more realistic Nolan-verse. Unless they actually tone that down and focus more on how Bane's intelligence is as big as his strength?

I think they'll focus on both. It may just be that instead of being pumped full of venom and enlarging, he may just be a 'roided mastermind, that presents a problem for Batman physically and mentally. As far as Tom Hardy goes, he's gotten big for a role before.

Refer to Bronson:

This is Tom Hardy, the same guy from Inception.

I've often thought Tobey's physique and looks are why the movie skipped past the high school years quickly.

I think you're right in that this is probably where they're going to go with Bane. I've often thought Bane was a good choice for a third Batman film just because of how easy it is to retool him for more realistic surroundings. Venom in the comics is kind of like a hyper-potent steroid, except it bulks you up immediately, which is where it gets outside the realm of realism. Slot in regular 'roids for Venom, focus on his intelligence and there you go.

The other character I thought was probably a good choice was Black Mask. Aside from the mask, he's pretty much a regular mobster, only very, very ruthless and sadistic. He could have been used to tie the trilogy back together, stemming back to the Gotham Mob from the first film. But ultimately, Nolan seems to be going in another direction.

Holy crap! @chouzu If Tom Hardy can pull THAT off, well, I guess we have no problem with a muscular Bane.

I was thinking of Black Mask too, he'd fit very well within Nolan's Batman.

One thing about steroids it that studies have shown that people who use them tend to be more aggressive, which could fit in well with Bane. He's a mastermind, but he's also brutal and ruthless.

Probably a good scene for Dark Knight Rises to go along with Terrace's post is, near the end, Batman is confronting Bane, Bane's plans having fallen apart as Batman says a speech at Bane. Bane gets pissed and with all the steroids in him, he charges and fights Batman.

I know they were looking for an older Superman this time around. He's not 35, as I had originally thought they were looking for.
