I may be wrong, but the beginning of Spider Man IS teen oriented. He's a socially awkward geek in High School who gains super powers. He then has problems balancing school/social life and super heroing. Besides, it's just 1 picture, can't really call an entire movie still in production as a 'teen oriented that ruins everything' when the main character is already a teen. Besides, some depictions of Spider Man also make him to be thin, lanky, wiry...what have you.

Compared to this depiction of Spidey, Andrew Garfield's Spidey look is a porker.

Well, guess it`s better if I take my leave then, there is no more space for an old timer fan like me.

I might watch it for Jay Chou as Kato... representing Taiwanese pride. XD

Was pretty good. Expected it to be crap, but it was good. The acting made me cringe at some places, but Jay Chou's English was pretty good to pull it off. Seth Rogen just balances his role perfectly.

I think Anne can pull off the sexiness required. I would've liked Jessica Biel.. but...

What about the fact Handsome Bob is going to play Bane. ^^

I dunno, I'm not sure Biel has what it takes; I wasn't exactly... impressed with her last couple superhero movie outings.
I'm not too familiar with Hathaway, but I trust Nolan knows what he's doing; he's earned that much, I think.
I think the new guy actually looks more like a teen than Tobey ever did.

Well seeing as though the first Spiderman movie has Peter in highschool for all but 30mins, I can say that it's fine. If they're going for the Ultimate Spiderman type theme, I think the guy they got looks fine. Not too enthusiastic about the costume change but at least it isn't CG-ed on.

I think they'll focus on both. It may just be that instead of being pumped full of venom and enlarging, he may just be a 'roided mastermind, that presents a problem for Batman physically and mentally. As far as Tom Hardy goes, he's gotten big for a role before.
Refer to Bronson:

This is Tom Hardy, the same guy from Inception.

I've often thought Tobey's physique and looks are why the movie skipped past the high school years quickly.
I think you're right in that this is probably where they're going to go with Bane. I've often thought Bane was a good choice for a third Batman film just because of how easy it is to retool him for more realistic surroundings. Venom in the comics is kind of like a hyper-potent steroid, except it bulks you up immediately, which is where it gets outside the realm of realism. Slot in regular 'roids for Venom, focus on his intelligence and there you go.
The other character I thought was probably a good choice was Black Mask. Aside from the mask, he's pretty much a regular mobster, only very, very ruthless and sadistic. He could have been used to tie the trilogy back together, stemming back to the Gotham Mob from the first film. But ultimately, Nolan seems to be going in another direction.

I was thinking of Black Mask too, he'd fit very well within Nolan's Batman.

I know they were looking for an older Superman this time around. He's not 35, as I had originally thought they were looking for.
