La Russa even just lost his marbles at the postgame press conference. Thay's not good, but there was this fan they kept show on tv acting like a D*** at the Cards dugout. And that reporter must've been from outside the bubble. He don't know about the TLR power of attorney. You get burned by the power of the Dark Side. And Rob Drake saying, "Don't you come back here." That made Yadi go boom. He went boom good. Bad Strike Zone and missed call at first yesterday, you expected a charitable contribution? Then you act like you got spat on, "My, My Gosh I seem to have caught the vapors." Drama Queen. C'mon Torre, we know Yadi will get suspended but get these Umps in line.
Best Line, "Who do you think was pitchin' Greg Maddux?"
My God my team has become a bunch of Goons........but the Passion's back Baby! YEAH!!!

Z for ZAMBRANO MELTDOWN
Carlos Zambrano was ejected for throwing at Chipper in the 5h inning, braves empty bench, Zambrano leaves quietly, went into the locker room, cleared out his locker and left. Gone. And is now considering retirement. Reported saying he has retired.

In the AL. 3 games to overtake the Media Clammored Collapsing Boston Red Sox. 2 games to tie for the Tampa Bay Rays and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of Los Angeles of California of AmeruCHA!!!
So while the media focuses soley on Boston I'm going to remind those that IF either Boston OR Atlanta complete said collapse the scenarios of the Playoffs change drastically.
In the AL the Red Sox have not just sucked, they have sucked epically on a scale unheard of since the beginning of this year when they nearly were 0-20. Fun days, Fun Days.
In the NL the Braves bullpen and starters injuries could not have come at a worse time. The Cardinals are on a mission (minus Jake Westbrook 0-2 performance during the stretch run in my eyes) and the Giants stumbled at the wrong time.
Each League.
Two Games Back.
Six Games to Go.
The Braves go to face the hotter than usual Nationals before hosting the division champions in Philly. Atlanta sends their ace against the Phenom of DC. The National Treasure. Espinosa is hot. Brian McCann is not. And the tandem of Venters and Kimbrel are running on pure fumes. The objective is to win for a win holds the Cardinals back and keeps them from falling. But perhaps the true power that holds the fate of the wild card in the balance is another.
The Cardinals host their longstanding rival the Chicago Cubs, coming off another at home winning series against the Brewers, the Cubs fans salivate at the chance to kill their longstanding rival. The Cardinals fans just want to avoid another falling flat on the face job by their team. Then they finish at Houston against the Astros. If Bud Norris is done for the year then something beyond Mortals is at work.
Scenarios:
Braves win the Wild Card- Phillies face Brewers (Phillies 4-3 this season against Brewers), Braves face Diamondbacks (Phillies 3-3 against Diamondbacks)
Cardinals win the Wild Card- Phillies face Cardinals (Cardinals 6-3 this season against Phillies), Brewers face Diamondbacks (I couldn't find it)
Red Sox win Wild Card- Yankees face Rangers or Tigers, Red Sox Face Tigers or Rangers (Rangers and Tigers have equal record currently 90-66)
Tampa wins Wild Card- Yankees face Rangers or Tigers, Rays face Tigers or Rangers, Boston cries at home while media yells at them
Angels win Wild Card- Yankees face Rangers, Tigers face Angels, Boston cries at home while media yells at them
In the AL
So Two Games Back. The Rays face the Blue Jays for 3 and then Yankees for 3. The Red Sox go to New York and then back to their current nemisis and regular 2011 asscrusher, Baltimore.
So In other words if you're the wild card and you want come from the AL East, you have to beat the Yankees. Or if you beat the Blue Jays while the Yankees beat their rival then you probably have a greater chance to hold your lead because they need to score 12 runs against Baltimore to beat them at this point. Not making that up ask Jayson Stark. http://twitter.com/#!/jaysonst/status/116696234445639680
If you're the Angels don't start thinking that this is perfect you face Oakland at home before seeing the Rangers. If they can face the Tigers they might be reasonable, unless the Sox truly suck. If they have to face the Yankees, probably should run the table. Though it wouldn't be exactly the worse thing, because the Yankees are not happy when they face you at Angels Stadium.
Now turning to other baseball news. *Looks down*

So Yesterday Marlins' Closer Leo Nunez was placed on the Restricted List by Major League Baseball and shipped back home to the Dominican Republic.
Turns out he had his papers messed up.
TURNS OUT THAT LEO NUNEZ ISN'T REALLY LEO NUNEZ AT ALL, HE'S BEEN USING A FAKE IDENTITY SINCE ARRIVING IN THE US 10 YEARS AGO

And no one found out until HE Outed HIMSELF as a last wish by his dying father.

UPDATE: Boston Post-Implosion Day 1
News in from Boston Reports are that Terry Francona is out as manager of the Red Sox. They have 10 days to decide if they will pick up the two year contract option. But the sound of Francona is that he's leaving on his own volition. So the man who led the Red Sox to 2 World Series since 1918 would be out after one of the largest collapses in history. But I think Epstein is out too. If that's the case then Boston is tetering between imploding and restructuring as an organization.

I don't have a preference on an opponent. Last year, I preferred San Fran. Then when the Rangers got them, the Giants kicked their butts. So, I'm not picking anyone in NLCS.

And they killed Detroit in a 9 run 3rd inning and a final of 15-5. Cruz named ALCS MVP for obvious reasons, hitting the Home Run Cycle in the Series.
They're opponent now rests on the outcome of Game 6 or Game 7 of the NLCS.
Game 6 begins at 8:05 pm, Cardinals v Brewers.

I hate the German pinch hit in Game 1, but starting Lewis in game 2 was a good move. Most playoff proven pitcher we have and a pitcher that is much better on the road than at home. Getting Game 2 means if he has another start it will be Game 6 on the road.

16-7 Cardinals over Texas
ALBERT PUJOLS TIES REGGIE JACKSON AND BABE RUTH WITH 3 HOME RUNS IN SINGLE WORLD SERIES GAME, TIES PAUL MOLITOR FOR MOST HITS (5) IN WORLD SERIES GAME
PUJOLS: 5-6 3HR 6 RBI
For the record this is why every time a story is written about Pujols negatively more Cardinal fans show up wearing helmets because it results in monster games.
Alexi Ogando, you now know only what Brad Lidge knnows

After it made it 11-6 I knew they were done. I didn't mind the Pujols homers after that since it was just garbage time runs. I was hoping he limited his quota to one game. So far, so good.
Holland is on. Holland can have massive control problems and tends to get shelled when he does, but when he's on, he's very, very good. 4 complete game shutouts this year.

Game 4: Derrick Holland recovers to throw 8 1/3 2 hit shutout innings, Napoli Homer Powers Texas: Series Tied Again at 2-2

Game 6 Rematch of Lewis v Garcia. I hope the Cardinals pull it out not only for their sake, or for my personal want to see Nolan Ryan's prediction go wrong, but for the sake of Baseball. GAME 7 WOULD BE AWESOME!!! I wouldn't care if I had to pay $200 on StubHub, I'll go if I have to.

NA-PO-LI! NA-PO-LI!
Easy MVP if the Rangers win. Totally worth Francisco. Deal of the off season.
The Rangers fan in me wants them to end it in Game 6 (an I feel much more comfortable with Lewis than Harrison). The baseball fan in me wants to see the Rangers win in 7 while pulling an '01 Luis Gonzales. Gonna have a heart attack before this one is over even if it ends in 6. Except for Game 3, all of these are going down to the wire and being decided in the late innings.
Yeah, Wilson was a walk machine. Again. It's the biggest hole in his game. But except for the 2 runs in the second (and the defense was as much at fault for that (if not more so than Wilson) they could not get anyone home. Bases loaded at least twice. Wilson wasn't great, but he didn't get shelled. Carpenter was great, only two big mistakes, but that was all that was needed.
