Today I feel looney. I feel deaded and hungry (even though I'm eating) and I have about half an hour before my cousin comes over and takes over the computer. I'm gonna die. I won't survive two days without a computer. But then I might... meh, I dunno anymore. I iz deaded. x.x

Maybe I'll read this again later and think wth was I thinking when I wrote that? Yup, I'm feeling dead.

...for that cousin problem of yours. and how you iz dreaded. (wtf wording lul)

whenever! they come over and ask for it, just say these words:

"Can't. It's having a system scan."

THAT ALWAYS WARKS.

the system scan from your virus protection program will ALWAYS slow down your laptop to the speed of SLOW molasses. now that's slow. SO, they'll be liike, "oh hell naw, facebook loads too slow already. fawk that scene."

then they'll leave you alone wow.png

:teehee:

but make sure it's actually running a system scan when they wanna check.

Hilariously genius, brat! Unfortunately even if I wanted to pull that stunt with my cousins, it won't work... they jack the interwebz and slow it down like maddddd with their own laptops DX and stay around my room making loud noises so much that I can't get any peace and quiet >.<

Hmm, strangely enough, my cousin didn't do all that much to my computer. Hogged it for five hours every night but returned it back in relatively okay condition...

I had my braces done today. Didn't really hurt, which surprised me. It's weird having these rough bumpy things in my mouth. sleep.gif But would you believe my luck? Half an hour after leaving the ortho place, I got home and found out that one of the little braces had already weaseled its way off my teeth. Phail glue 111193.gif (they actually put glue on my teeth, shocked me at first smile.gif)

*sigh* Now I have to go back there again tomorrow... DDD8

There's nothing much going on at school at the moment. Everything's signed out, books returned. It's just a matter of surviving the last week before the holidays. HOLIDAYS!! rawr.gif

But first I have to live through presentation day on Friday. It's this three hour long ceremony where the people who came first in the subjects of their year go up to get awards and stuff. I'm not getting anything, so I'll just be sitting there and clapping and hating myself because I was one mark off from getting first for commerce and being on that stage.... arg.gif Stuff them.

Hmm, what else, what else? Nah, nothing else. Life's a bore. biggrin.gif

*****

Really is going to labour on that chapter of Precious People that I still have yet to complete sleep.gif

BUT, I do have a few oneshots/drabbles. I write those whenever I'm tired of working on the chapter. smile.gif

A Did I Tell You drabble: Ice Cream. I have a thread for this Did I Tell You drabble story in the Library Coffee Shop. Drop by and give me some ideas for more drabbles sometime, cause I'm definitely running out.

One written for Shauna, another inspired by her:

Listen To Your Heart (GaaSaku)

And this one's a ShikaTema. Going to put that on FF.net as well in a while.

Wisps

Smoking is bad for you, his mother had said disapprovingly. She was an annoying woman, he had to give her that, but she didn’t force insistence upon him, merely frowned at her son’s newfound habit, and through the thick smoke, Shikamaru would see concern vaguely disfigured in his mother’s dark eyes. He smoked only when something was bothering him, which was an austere contrast to his sensei’s inclinations.

The tobacco flowed into his system, leaving behind its mark even as he exhaled a column of grey smog. In the earlier days, he had hacked and coughed at the acrid tang. His mother was right; smoking did do him more harm than good.

So why did he still do it?

Because, for once in his life, Shikamaru Nara found it troublesome not to do something.

A tribute, some would call it. He preferred not to consider it anything at all. He knew, Chouji, Ino knew – as long as he knew as well, there was no need to call it anything at all.

Shikamaru heard the grass and the dried leaves behind him rustle. He kept his eyes on the sky and the stars that glimmered brightly against the dark blanket. He had to give her credit for finding and catching up with him so quickly, let alone find initiative to come at all.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” she asked, and her voice was softer than he recalled earlier when she had yelled after him on the street.

“I didn’t think you’d need me to point out that I had screwed up our first date.”

“You know what I mean.” He might have heard her click her tongue, he might not have; just like he sometimes felt his hand on his shoulder. “Your sensei’s…” Her voice trailed off there, uncomfortable. Shikamaru had trouble picturing Temari of the Sand uncomfortable in any situation, and that was what compelled him to tilt his head back and glance up at her face.

Her eyes, dark pools of concern, gazed back down at him. Then she blinked, and the emotion was gone, banished, replaced by familiar annoyance. She nudged him over and stretched out on the grass beside him. “You should have told me it was your sensei’s anniversary.”

He grunted. “What difference would it have made?”

“None.”

“Exactly.”

He heard her take a deep breath. Another glance told him she had closed her eyes for a brief moment. “I don’t even know why I try,” she admitted. Eyes opened to meet his, and she was frowning. Like his mother, but different, somehow. “You ran out on our first date, you’re an ass… but I care that you’re upset and I’m hurt that you didn’t think to share that burden with me.”

He turned away, puffing lazily at the cigarette. Was this really the girl who had consistently bossed and beaten him around these past years? Not really. At the moment, Temari resembled more of the young woman Shikamaru had bothered to ask for a date. They had agreed that it was just something new, an experiment to see if it would work out. But it hadn’t worked out, had it? She was disappointed… and so was he.

“Sorry.”

She sat up, leaned on her elbow, stared at him. “Pardon me?” Temari said blankly.

Wisps of smoke rode on the breeze, coiling around the crescent moon. “I shouldn’t have asked you out today. My fault. I thought that today something would finally click. It didn’t. The two of us… I stuffed up. I’m sorry.” And he genuinely meant it despite the reluctant drawl in his tone. For months now, the two of them had been going around in circles. Where there had once been companionship, something akin to a deep bond of friendship, there was now something else. He didn’t understand it and nor did she. Today was supposed to be a compromise. It was supposed to work out. He wanted it to work out. He hoped she could see that.

“Hey, Shikamaru, look.” Was her voice hard and gentle at the same time? It must be, because it actually made him listen. “I know how you feel. Losing someone close to you, someone you love… it’s hard. People die all the time, but when it’s one of those special people, the world flips.” She had told him of her mother before, of her father, her uncle. Different feelings for all of them, but still family, and she had told him she had cared.

“There really isn’t much to hold onto to stop yourself from falling,” Temari went on, shrugging. “It’s okay to remember what you’ve lost and grieve every now and then… God, now you’re making me all depressed – give me that.” And she took the cigarette from his lips, placing it between her own. Inhaled… and coughed. Shikamaru shook his head, smiling, and patted her back while she handed it back to him. “How do you stand that?” she wheezed at him.

“Just do.”

It took her only a short while to recover. Then eyes cast over at him, glimmering in the moonlight. “I’m not accepting your apology. But next time you’d better not take the easy way out, you ass. Face a date like a man.”

Shikamaru had never really understood the significance of hope until now. “Next time?” he repeated monotonously.

Her eyebrow arched up. “What, you think you’re getting out of it? You really will be sorry if you don’t treat me to whatever high class fancy restaurant you have in your village – preferably the most expensive of them all.” She grinned, lightly punched his shoulder. Her touch lingered for a little longer than usual. “You’ll be mine for a day,” she added in a whisper.

He chuckled. “Sure, whatever.” The moon was rather bright tonight.

“Don’t you mean ‘troublesome’?” she teased.

“Oh yeah, that too…”

Eh? Is it the end of the school year for you already? Because it wouldn't make sense otherwise to be getting awards in the middle of the school year XD

Btw, yes... they use glue... and you get to choose colors for your squares! DX and by the time you get your braces off your mouth will feel so empty and your teeth will feel "naked" if you get what I mean XD

lol, yup, it's end of school year. In Aus, school starts and ends with the actual year. Very convenient for the stupid Christmas air tickets, huh? sleep.gif

I got baby blue colour squares! *is not a very 'pink' person*

Ah, my life sucks. One of my braces came off again arg.gif Now I have to go back there again on Monday. Problem is, there's a concert at school on Monday afternoon and I'll have to leave in the middle of it. I am NOT HAPPY! rawr.gif

Hmph. But I suppose I did sort of make up for it. I didn't go to school yesterday because it was presentation day. I decided not to go and just stayed home. My mum even came up with an excuse for me; my braces were bugging me so badly I had a super duper headache and I couldn't go to school. biggrin.gif

I've been playing Halo on PC lately. Maybe it's just me, but I've always found creeping through the dark corridors by myself a little scary.... I'm a wimp, I know. If there are Marines with me, I'm not that scared. I've never been able to finish the game because I always freak out when I get to the Flood level. dry.gif

I'm bored even though I'm supposed to be working on fanfiction and/or doing my assignment work, which is due next Tuesday. My partner and I have barely started and we're patching everything up at the last minute. I get these surges to do work when it's a crisis, but when I know we still have a few days left, I just loosen up and ignore my impending doom until it's basically a wave crashing over my head. laugh.gif

And krisk's Secret Santa! For some reason, I'm really excited about it. It's an interesting thing. GO JOIN!! rawr.gif ... and pray that you don't get me :teehee:

Anyway, that's it for now. Later! smile.gif

I hope you're not talking about the shotgun - that thing takes forever to reload. And oh yeah, I tried that with the assault rifle. Ran out of ammo and couldn't find refills. sleep.gif

Dunno why Halo creeps me out so much. Hitman Contracts is an assassination game and I can get Silent Assassin no problem. Stupid aliens. Maybe it's the fact that they're not stereotypically green? headscratch.gif

And gawd, I hate my braces to hell!!!! It's taking me longer to brush the food out of them than to actually eat it! arg.gif

I bleed sorely for you. T_T (Braces in your 9th year? Tough stuff. I was lucky enough to get the metal buggers out by the end of 8th grade)

Wait, I still think I know a way that I CAN be helpful! 8D

Here's the secret to the whole wires-and-glue business...(It's something your orthodontist always TELLS you, but doesn't really tell you, if you get my drift...<.<)

Your teeth move faster when you're gums aren't infected, A.K.A. when you floss, the swelling dies down and your mangled bicuspids will start arranging themselves rightly again. ^w^

However, DO NOT use the threader-junk the Orthie throws at you if you value your time and your sanity. O_o

Get some of the hard threaded/ended floss from the pharmacy.
The Oral-B Super Floss for example. It slides RIGHT between the metal junk and gaps blocking the way. biggrin.gif

And if you're in short supply (or can't find the good stuff) you can make your own with some normal floss and Superglue! ^__^
(No, seriously! D8 You just dip the floss in, let it dry for 15 seconds, and it works like a charm. No glue-stuck-in-between-your-teeth garenteed.)

I may sound like a ranting dentist, but honestly, it WORKS! XD I started really flossing (every night) after 2 and a half years of agony…

And I got my tin-grins off in less than 3 months. ^w^

Why is it that everyone has already had their braces done and are happy little munchkins while I'm here weeping of pain?! shamefulcry0js.gif My braces broke again, can't remember if I mentioned it in this blog. Had them fixed again today, just when I was getting used to the tension. Now they're all funny-stupidy again. sad.gif

And, hmm, is this a bad time to mention that I.... don't know how to floss....? arg.gif

We held a farewell party for one of my friends at school today. She's leaving our school to go to a selective school - she's one of those smart buddies. I've only known her for a year or something, but over time we sort of got close. For some reason, I'm not like, depressed or sad-faised, just.... I dunno. It's the first time someone I knew is leaving high school. Maybe I'll miss her when she's actually gone. huh.gif

Ah well, people have to go their separate ways sooner or later, right? This friend of mine doesn't actually want to leave (you know, has friends here and all) but her parents are sort of like "No, blahblah school will be better for you." And well, we all know that she'll go higher at her new school.

So yeah, we had a party. It was annoying for me to eat because of my braces, but there was a cake and cards and presents and everything. Loads of hugs. Now, I'm not a very, uh, emotional person. I don't laugh at stuff I probably should, don't cry that much (but when I do it's completely random), and I'm no good at comforting people. I was just standing there, like, thinking, Hell, what do I say? It was hard enough writing in the card. For some reason, writing what everyone else does (I'll miss you, good luck, etc) doesn't really satisfy me.

But in the end, I just wrote the same thing everyone else did, so I suppose my satisfaction is measly. biggrin.gif

Watched lots of movies in class today. None of the teachers actually planned out their lessons. We watched Disturbia in Maths and The Power of One in English. Didn't have enough time to finish either of them, and I sort of fell asleep during Power of One. sweatdrop.gif

I am sorta pissed off right now. Well, was pissed off. I spent two nights working on this project and it turns out we didn't even have to hand it in today because they spent the lesson handing out our school reports. Oh, and my report! I, well, sucked at maths. Passed but it wasn't spectacular. Everything else was sorta okay. laugh.gif

Math project??! O_o Sounds like death by numbers to me..
(Can completely empathize. Spent over 24 hours this weekend on Friday night, all day Saturday and Sunday till 12 o'clock completing a Journalism project.
We had to learn things like "Kerning," "Cutline" and what not, combine all of our 47 vocabulary words, make a colloge for EACH of them on 11" by 17" paper, and make it into one big hunker of a "Graphic Notebook" X_X
I spent a fortune on laminations.
Then, guess what? 0_= *twitch* No one in my class had laminated yet. They just brought their papers to school, cuz the whole finished thing wasn't due till TOMORROW. And there was a place that would have done my whole book for a 10th of the price that I paid for it!)

Well, ya get my drift. (Inner Gena- Why, WHY was all my work for vain??!! shamefulcry0js.gif *cries*)

You're friend is leaving? That stinks
(I can understand that as well. My friend moved to an elite school last year and I haven't really heard from her since.
Yeah, of course there's emails, letters and whatnot, but it's just not the same. T_T Paper can be so stale, can't it?
It's hard to know what to say or do in that position. You want to say goodbye, but you can't find the right words.
And people usually get mad at me when I try to understand a situation or give them a hug.)

Hey, PB, have you ever felt like this?

Let's say that everyone around you is programmed to FM radio. They're getting a cyclone warning and everyone is freaking out and stressed.
Well, here I am over there *points*, stuck on the stupid AM frequency. ^^;;; Listening to oldies.

Yup yup, good times. (My mum hates me for it. XD I imagine this is how Shikamaru feels on some occasions…)

Anyhoo, doncha just LOVE the last weeks of school before a break, when they run out of useful things to do and it becomes movie-marathon every day in class? ^w^
(We're watching 'The Dark Knight' and writing a review on it in Journalism, and they’re showing 'Casablanca' in Art.
…And then there’s examinations in every other class! O_o Woop…ee?)

Well, *pats PB on the back* wish I could be there for ya.
(Tell me how the movies were! Never heard of those titles…)
S.N. Sry, kinda turned this into my own little rant-fest. ^^;;; (Gosh this got long...)
It seems that I am finding more and more things that I can relate to with you! (Anne of Green Gables “kindred spirits,” so to speak. ^__^)

Give yourself a hug and a nice big slice of cake for me, will ya?

Till a more decent time of day…
