What I don't get is that why did Sakura look confused when Obito said that she was doing it to help Naruto? Doesn't that go without saying? I get that its a pairing moment but I don't get this confuses her like it did with Sai's statement when romantic undertones were clear.

Same. It more like how the fandom took a very simple thing and overblew it out of proportions and made this huge racket over nothing. This is basically the SS equivalent.

I agree i think it's because this scene is pure fanservice.
First off we all know Sasuke is going to care about his former teammates once again, we get Sakura being upset at every turn Sasuke shows he doesnt care about her, later he grabs Sakura on this scene to cast doubt on her previously upset moments when she thought that he doesnt care about her, so it's pointless since the begining she was upset at Sasuke.
He's basically developing something that doesnt make sense from the very begining.

Me too, and actually that's what i dont want to happen, it will og down to the fact we dont have any villains just a mysterious black figure, who will be probably be the incarnation of hatred.
I'm not having any doubts on the theory of Black Zetsu being hatred itself.

It's not as freaking as some people react but we can't deny those eyes panels and the fact that Kishi does like to kitten with the pairings, even tho' he isn't going out the NS route... but he does like to kitten things-up, excuse my language. Otherwise, besides the big panel, one thing I don't get, is the eye-interaction...

And this is what I'm pissed at its not that he isn't going the NS route but the way he does it and resolving this romance I mean really was that eye thing really necessary ? Why give SS moments like this in the first place and leave NS moments out out when we basically we had the same situation in 672  ? Why make SS moments like this but not for NS ? Its just hurt NS becoming canon in the process nothing else and it makes it less believable in a way by holding Sakura;s feelings for him unresolved .  What @inferno says is all good but that's not the point Kishi is just kittening on us .

I suppose it's all a matter of sensitivity. Some will be more affected by this than others. Sasuke seems so careless about Sakura's state.

Agreed. While Sasuke is holding Sakura on the last page, he is also digging into Sakura's acid-wound with his fingers. Hardly a tender gesture.

@Inferno: the deal isn't about that, is about how Kishi likes to screw-things-up. Even moreso, with all the things you've listed, doesn't make sense... And not to mention but... aesthetically speaking, when did we had the last NS interaction that beautifully drawn?

That's what I am worried for too... I know how the story is gonna unfold and everything, I am just worried about the credibility of the pairing...

I know, Sakura there is beautiful, but I was talking about an overall moment where both of them and the whole meaning and drawing and all were beautiful. Don't get me wrong, I know Kishi isn't going the SS route or anything like that, I know NS is there to stay but sometimes we gotta admit the fact that Kishi does do some kitten stuff and hurts NS's credibility.

Well, it goes to show you that she and the audience like us don't know the position she's placed in. If you ask me, the follow up may be crucial to this whole event because we need to know what's next and if there's anything, what's going to be about? If nothing, well false alarm. This whole volume has been centering around Naruto, more or less, so I don't know what's up with that, but it's a start. Again, follow up, which is next week, may be crucial. Now that Sasuke is there, what's next?

My opinion on the CPR is that it was poorly done, something like Kishimoto holding NS back, and it ended with a emotionless scene, it lacked drama on the CPR, and lack of Sakura's feelings but with a tone of a sense of duty, with her talking about Naruto's dream rather than her own feelings.
Which is why i wasnt happy with that scene at all unlike the rest of the forum.

It gives the impression that Pairing Drama > Actual Development from Kishimoto.

They did have a moment like this at the end of 631.

 

The only real problem is for the next week or so tumblr's gonna be exploding (After all Kishi basically did starve this pairing and beat it half to death)

I actually liked this chapter. It feels like a long time since I've been able to say that.

 

Loved Sakura in this chapter, and I hope it foreshadows more to come -- and that Kishimoto follows through. I don't mind the SS either. Frankly it doesn't surprise me and I've been expecting that these kinds of SS moments would start popping up sooner or later. Sakura and Sasuke's relationship will eventually be mended regardless of all his crap, and there will likely be more where this came from. 

 

Nothing in this chapter changes the fact that Kishi's made in very clear that Sasuke is not the right romantic match for Sakura, but it gives SS fans something to squeal over. After all, Sakura did show a lot of determination to rescue Sasuke here, and Sasuke even had the decency to catch her before she fell. Kishi's definitely following his pattern of balancing NS moments and hints with scenes that can be interpreted as pro- SS/NH.

 

It would be nice if Kishi would stop playing around with pairings, but I think it might not end anytime soon. I don't buy that he's not aware on some level what he's doing and I think he enjoys trying to confuse people, lol. But enough of that, I just want to celebrate a lovely Sakura-centric chapter.

How? Sakura hasn't shown any romantic interest in Sasuke even while being this physically close to him anyone whose seen the RTN special or the springtime of youth would notice she would be nosebleeding and hyperventilating by being that close to him.
