Still wondering what the point of Tenten staying behind was, especially if she was going to show up later anyway, me thinks the Riikudou tools will be used on someone other than Madara, also given that she's not there to witness Gai's final moments and the fact that Naruto is getting a new mysterious power-up says to me that Gai is most likely not going to kick the bucket in the series, worst case scenario he'll probably permanently lose the ability to use chakra or something or maybe he'll become a vegetable hell I dunno.

I do wonder though. The fight with Gai and Madara is still going on and it's going to continue on next chapter which is the 5th chapter. That said it feels like the theme is starting yet here we are. How long do we have to wait for others to show up? It was always about what happens outside, so how good are they now. Do we have to wait a while more? Something to think about.

 

You know, I wonder if the idea back in Zetsu's battle is to have them not dead but alive to get the fruit when they're in "bed".

So the sage does this every reincarnation of his sons and gives them his powers. It hasn't work, so why not intrust it to Naruto?

I left Naruto back in part one due to the writers pet (Sasuke). When I came back I knew Naruto would meet the sage. I thought Naruto would be the successor of the sage, but no it's sasuke too. While sasuke gets the rinnegan (sage), naruto gets the tail beast (not power from the sage). Sasuke will be the new sage while naruto is still a jinchuuriki.

This manga should be called the tales of Sasuke and naruto or bonds.

IMO, Sasuke will be the hero of the story. Naruto is doing the same thing as his front runners, Sasuke is the one who makes the change for peace. Sasuke front runners did the same thing, but Sasuke changes the cycle. He is the hero.

I hate Sasuke because Kishi never makes him accountable or responsible for his actions. It has nothing to do with him, it's the writer.

The fact that Hagoromo's response is somewhat a regret way is telling. It's as if he said it that Sasuke or Indra's reincarnation hasn't changed at all and till this day, he wished he would have done better as Naruto gives Hagoromo an idea of hope of new beginning.

I liked this chapter, sure it was basically a history lesson but history was my favorite subject so...

 

A couple of things I though of after reading this chapter, Kaguya having the Byakugan kinda fits with her not being from the same "land" as the series is set, after all the Hyuga have a Chinese theme instead of Japanese. Another thing I though of, since we know that Kaguya had the power of the Byakugan and the Sharingan maybe the power of the Sharingan was passed on to Hagoromo while the power of the Byakugan was passed on to his brother, similar to how only Indra received the Sharingan,

 

My thoughts of Hinata being Kaguya's reincarnation, doesn't fit, from Hagoromo's description of her they act nothing alike, unlike Naruto and Sasuke who act like Hagoromo's description of Ashura and Indra.

 

Anyway, I liked this chapter and I'm looking foreword to next week's chapter (I might be late again next week too, I've been trying to catch up on One Piece and I'm at the Fishman Island arc now, I should be caught up by the end of the month ).

I've noticed a lot of people are really angry about Sasuke's sudden appearance and seeing it as Sasuke getting equal importance as Naruto despite all of the crap he's done and how everything comes easy to him. That Naruto and Sasuke are the Children of Prophecy and now suddenly Naruto's basically not as special. Let me tell you why I'm extremely apathetic of that.

 

Sasuke is not the other Child of Prophecy. Naruto is still the main one as far as we know. So Sasuke was talked to by the Sage as well and he said it's up to both of them. So? Think of it this way.

 

Yes, Sasuke was given more importance and every Sasuke hater has the right to be pissed off about it but it still goes back to Naruto. Sasuke can't change the cycle and the legacy of Indra's reincarnations by himself. He's not going to make a choice without any other influence to end Indra's "peace through power" complex. Naruto needs to be the one to change him in the final fight. He's still the key. Without him, Sasuke would still go down the wrong path. That's why it's not Naruto and Sasuke equally. Sasuke needs to be guided so it's really still about Naruto.

 

I believe the Sage's faith in them is mostly along the lines of "I believe Ashura's reincarnation will at last change Indra's so I put my faith in Indra's to see his 'brother's' way of doing things." Very much like Sakura's "I'll just believe in them" line. It's not like either of them believe Sasuke will see the light on his own, but it gives him some credit to finally listen to Naruto and change. His choice will change the cycle but it only happens because of Naruto. So it's still about Naruto.

 

I wasn't angry at all that Sasuke got that speech. In a way, it makes sense. Why would Hagoromo just single out Naruto and once again show favoritism to him instead of his other son? There's no way that's going to help things, even if you hate Sasuke with a passion it only makes sense.

 

And honestly, all this rage on Sasuke getting everything the easy way is done on purpose for a reason. You can hate it, but it has a point. Naruto getting everything through hard work despite all the odds stacked against him and still choosing the right path puts him in a better light than Sasuke. His story is a direct contrast to Sasuke's and I'm not irritated by it too much because I understand where Kishi's coming from. I love Naruto ten times more than Sasuke, but I'm not going to dwell on those things when I see the message behind it.

 

The only thing I'm really irritated about is how much obsessive focus Kishi puts on Naruto's bond with Sasuke. It's not that I have anything against the bond. It's just SasuNaru is so ridiculously tied into the plot, it eclipses or shafts every other bond Naruto has. It shouldn't just be about Sasuke. Kishi has written Naruto's character focus so much on Sasuke, you'd think nothing else mattered to him but his 'brother' when we know that's not true. Naruto's other relationships and the meaning he puts into those is terribly inconsistent because SasuNaru overruns this story since Part II.

 

It really wouldn't kill Kishi to have Naruto single out his other friendships instead of having them grouped together in group shots while Sasuke is always, always singled out like he's so much more special to Naruto than them. This is a issue with NS too IMO. We know Naruto loves Sakura, but she's rarely singled out. It's always Sasuke at the front of his thoughts and Sasuke given those meaningful scenes when you just know how much he means to him.

But I agree with you, as much as it disgusted me to see Sasuke in all this, it's still all about Naruto. and Naruto is still surpassing Sasuke in every ways.

Sasuke has to make that change. You can't change anyone unless that person makes the change in their life. It will be Sasuke who is the one that breaks the cycle.

 

Since Naruto is a reincarnation of Asura, what has Naruto done that is different to his front runners? It seems all Asura's reincarnations have the same story as Naruto. Only difference is Kishi will have Naruto to be the one to help Sasuke change, because that is Kishi's story.

 

Sorry, I was really disappointed with Sasuke being a successor of the sage.

Here's the thing: Sasuke is the problem and Naruto is the solution/child of prophecy/etc. Sasuke is the problem that needs to be solved because it was his ancestor's fault that the war even happened. Naruto has made a huge progress on creating a new world without forcing, all because he just wants to protect his friends. Simple as that. All is going to be solved, but Sasuke is the final wall. He can start once again carnage that will start everything over. It takes one person to ruin everything. It's like if two different sides almost became brothers but one shot the other and chaos breaks. Sasuke is that shooter.

No one said that Sasuke got the same importance as Naruto since Sasuke true job is to accept the way of Naruto and cooperate. Naruto is there to change everything.

Idk. The chapter is ok. They finally tied up the loose end of part 1 with the byakugan. Because compare to Sharingan and Rinnegan, Byakugan can be master at the age of 12 ( Neji) . No alter form, just somehow deviate.

 

What I just don't need was the whole reincarnation thing. There is a difference between parallel and reincarnation. That the thing I clearly didn't need. Plus now Sasuke enter Naruto mind how? is it because he got senju cell now ?and yeahhe , probably Sasuke will have the rinnega 90% sure. It's like it isn't about the present character but between the 2 brothers conflicts. Madara and Sasuke are alive at the same time now and Madara portray the older brother will now. So does Sasuke is good only because of that? When Madara die, evil bro will take over Sasuke to ultimately fight Naruto. How about Naruto that must share the child of prophecy thing with Sasuke. 

 

Well the look like or make me thing would have been enough. As for people who think that the mother of the sage is a parallel for Hinata.

Let's just say that the way Hinata is portray, I really didn't see her kill even one single person, let alone be on a power trip, inspire fear and try to make peace by taking over the world.

This Night Moth technique must be the last-ditch effort of an 8 gates user since Guy seems to be on his last legs and he hasn't brandished it yet. It sounds like a death blow that completely extinguishes what time is granted for the 8th gate. 

 

The name sounds oddly similar, the butterfly wings that Choji develops whenever he's experiencing the effects of the coloured pills comes to mind.

 

Like the Midnight Elephant which uses its namesake as a stylistic form of attack, the mechanics of this technique will probably have to do with moths. What's the most noticeable trait about moths? Their wings? Perhaps the idea is to develop a moth-like projection of air pressure like the Afternoon Tiger. The wings enfold the victim and deliver an overwhelming amount of pressure and heat that would normally pulverise and sear anything alive (possibly reducing it to dust). That obviously wouldn't happen to Madara, but if Guy managed to at least put him in the same condition as Lee after he had used the 5th gate against Gaara then he can consider it a job well done. How much more harm can you bring to a senjutsu enhanced Jubi jinchuuriki with taijutsu? It's incredible how Guy has been able to push Madara this far.
