Can we talk about that flare of Kurama's chakra on the first page? If Naruto's heart completely stopped, then what was that?

She doesn't want his dream to get crushed. She supports him. It's funny because recently Sasuke talked about becoming Hokage. I totally see her siding with Naruto and defending his dream.
Since we 70 guests at the moment, I want any SS fans to answer me question about your statement; why do they believe SS will happen? This comment perfectly demonstrates why I find it hard to believe that SS has any chance in happening, because in the end we all know that Sakura will always be on Naruto's side. There will be no reason for her cross over to Sasuke's side again, if it conflicts with Naruto's dream. It wouldn't make sense.
Okay first....I have to make the joke since no one else has

okay, guys, Kushina was going through childbirth. You know? You don't know if that weakened her strength and energy. Many know here how painful childbirth can be and know of the history how some woman back in the day couldn't survive such a traumatic event.
Ever think that maybe ripping out the baby AND ripping out the Nine-tails was just too taxing on her body to even let her survive despite pulling it back in?
That's my theory anyway.

It was my understanding that Kushina chose to die to protect Naruto of her own will... if I'm mistaken, please correct me...

Think it was just dispersing, fleeing the body.

All right, I'm back for the 1st time in like forever. Need a new banner, but yeah, I'll deal with that later.
That whole scene kinda reminded me of this song.
I can't believe Sakura did "CPR" on Naruto. Moral victory, FTW!!!!! If only he actually felt that when it came.

I think that was the cloak that Sakura still had around her fading . That's when she loses the last of the chakra she had left for medical jutsus .

There's quite a bit of emotional baggage that comes with her fierce determination to reach Sasuke in time, but you can't help but be taken aback by what was just seen from her. I mean where did this amazing ability that defeated Shinsuusenju come from when not even the concerted efforts of the Kages could destroy it? If it's an Uzumaki trait then why didn't she use it previously against Bee or Danzo when they were about to kill Sasuke? The feat is just so unbelievably contrived coming from Karin that she comes across as irritably stunning (if that makes sense).
Karin as a character has always been...well weird. At this point, I don't honestly care how mishandled she's been. This does seem to indicate Kishi doesn't care about certain plots though, like he just wants to wrap these parts up quickly.

Yeah, lots of parallel scenes in this chapter.
It would make sense if Gaara pointed out their love for each other... Because of everything you said, and he has the kanji for love in his name, and on his forehead.
What's really interesting is that you can see a sharp contrast between Naruto and Sasuke's respective situations. Here Naruto is having just expired and is immediately rushed to the Alliance shinobi with everyone in horror at what has become of him. Then he's whisked away to be saved with Sakura and Gaara so convicted in their desire to see their friend survive at all costs. But here you have Sasuke, lamenting his fallen dreams with no one around to support or comfort him in his dying breaths; even his enemy has apparently abandoned him to die without anyone around. Pretty much the only one left, excluding the mysterious barefooted person, is an incapacitated corpse who can't so much as move or talk really.
I think this symbolism truly reflects the natures of their paths. Naruto leads himself towards the light and the comfort of friends whereas Sasuke is hiding himself in the darkness with no one to witness him in his suffering.

Now that I've calmed down a bit, MAN. This was beautifully done.
Since people have already pointed out everything I wanted to say, the mention of Naruto finding out what Sakura did for him later on would be really nice. Especially when you consider this.
Remember in Part 1, when Sakura was trapped in Gaara's sand and Naruto did everything in his power to defeat Shukaku/Gaara to save her life? Sasuke was a witness to that and later, he straight up told her what happened.
This time the tables have turned, and Sakura is the one doing everything in her power to save his life and we still have someone who witnessed it. Gaara. So it's very possible that Naruto will find out one way or another when he wakes up.
I'd love it if they were to find out what one did for the other... because I feel that they keep a lot of what they do for one another to themselves. So that's why I think it always comes as a surprise for them to realize the lengths that they'd go through for each other. Because they never say anything.
I'm all giddy~

Way too many.
Which I've told you - time and time again - is dangerous! There will never be consensus, son, among those you have helped to ascend. They will all differ in their views of what it means to be free. The peace you so desperately seek does not exist.
These men are united now by a common cause. But when this battle is finished they will fall to fighting amongst themselves about how best to ensure control. In time it will lead to war. You will see.
