[Ausakura]

Having Shikamaru alive makes me think that Neji have really gone forever. 

Well, to make everyone revives after this war would be a real disaster for the plot. I think that's the way things should go on...

It was unnecessary already to make Shikamaru survive. Now if everyone comes back... Death would be more meaningless than it is now in NARUTO.

 

Altought Naruto and Sakura form an mature looking couple (in the idea, for its development, its history and etc), this manga have a lot of infantile and silly factors when it comes to the romantical area. It just doesn't make sense to point Hinata every time with the same line to let her be alone in the end. It's ok to point her like this if it's a comical scene, after all, her love for Naruto makes part of her character, but after all that things, why she still is so... Linear? It would be interesting to see her thinking in other things but Naruto. Why the author insist in maintain her character the same without significant development? After all, this is war, the so called climax. The minds of the characters should've changed, especially when it comes to priorities! After much I've seen, I don't think Kishimoto is taking this seriously... If he is, I'm not geting good thoughts. Naruto and Sakura didn't showed up much significant things to add to them as lovers, I'm only seeing their friendship building even more. On the other side, I'm seeing that "someone" wants with all her capacity of thinking to be with "someone" at the end.

In the story we have characters with immature and intense feelings, as for Obito with Rin (besides that all Uchihas has some emotional issues), Sakura and Ino with Sasuke, Lee with Sakura, Hinata with Naruto... The only mature feelings that I've seen explored in this manga so far was Naruto's feelings for Sakura and all of Tsunade's involvements. But after seeing all of this sloppy writing, this poor character development, yo-yo action, jokes and addendas in the wrong atmosphere... What is Kishimoto thinking? What are his plans for NARUTO? Is he thinking about the story? About the fans? About all he have written until now? Sometimes I think I'm only seeing good content in NARUTO because I want to see it, thinking beyond the obvious. Maybe it was never his intention to write a good development between the main characters and NARUTO consists in characters with ordinary personalities from cartoons for children.

I may be exagerating, but, c'mon... This is War!!! "I want to be at Naruto-kun's side too"?!?!?! What this have to do with a super sized apocaliptical plant almost puting all of them to sleep?! This is off-limits!! And considering that everyone's thoughts has been passed to everyone in the battlefield, her desire will be passed too?

I miss the heaven and earth bridge arc...

I enjoyed this chapter and it's nice to see Shikamaru was saved by both Naruto and Sakura, but that smile Sakura gave after Shikamaru recovered made the chapter that much more satisfying since only Naruto is able to make her smile like that and the smile Sakura gave to Tsunade after she said she did good was so cute. It almost reminds me of when Sakura first started training under Tsunade and she was able to revive that fish. Similarities much?

To add to Atheck's idea, I'm inclined to agree Darkness' post, and think that if Oonoki's Jinton were to be the thing that destroys the tree, it would seem rather underwhelming (Susano'o chopping through a few roots aside). 

 

However, instead of targeting the tree itself, why not the earth beneath it? Why not (with Naruto, Sasuke, etc keeping Obito and Madara at bay) Have Oonoki and the remaing Alliance destroy the earth under the tree, uproot it, and somehow launch it into the sea; let's see if it can bloom while it's submerged in salt water. Or even, why not work out someway to block the flower's eye reflecting on to the moon, like creating an overcast of clouds to block the moon from view, or knock the tree over so the flower isn't pointing upwards to the moon anymore. Granted, the latter two actions sound more like they would only delay rather than put a definitive stop to the Moon's Eye Plan.

Okay chapter with some great points. Good to see shikamaru survive, he's one of my favorite characters. Also the Sakura and Tsunade moment was priceless. If anybody thinks that Sakura is worthless feel free to take it up with this lady:

 

 

And Finally, my man Kakashi is almost back on the field! Can't wait until he comes back and joins the rest. Dude is a bada** to stitch himself up and keep fighting after skewering Obito.

 

The only problem I have is that for the 50th chapter in a row, we are told that everyone trusts Naruto. I understand that Naruto has earned this, however its been hammered in enough. Enough speeches already, Time for some action.

I liked the chapter, although I agree with others that most of it was recycled material.  I get the sense that Kishimoto is attempting to reinforce where things are going, trying to build momentum and anticipation, but it's starting to wear thin.

 

Sakura was lovely in this chapter, even though it was on the edge of being too kittenish for my taste.  That's not meant as a complaint or a criticism, it's just my personal preference.  Kittenish stuff is okay for Hinata, but it doesn't match Sakura's personality, in my opinion. 

 

Overall I agree with James Cassidy, in that Sakura's prominence in this chapter, her connection to Naruto -- and the way it affects her -- stands out above the rest.  Again, I think it's Kishimoto slowly reinforcing where things are going, etc.

 

I remember reading a translation of a Jump Fest interview -- it was either 2009 or 2010 -- in which Kishimoto said that Shikamaru would become Naruto's right-hand man.  It was the same time he said that Shikamaru and Choji would learn the meaning of valor.  (Forgive my clunky paraphrasing.)  That revelation -- of Shikamaru's role as Naruto's advisor -- finally made it to the page in this chapter.

 

As for Hinata, I'm going to pull a Kishimoto and recycle something I said way back in June:

 

The truth is, Hinata has already confessed and reached her private goal of standing with Naruto and holding his hand.  In his own way Naruto acknowledged that she tried to save him from Pain (#559), and later acknowledged her as a supportive friend and comrade (#615), but he has totally avoided responding to her personal feelings (#437-633) -- all the while carrying (and recently admitting) his own feelings for Sakura.  

What more could Hinata possibly have to say that hasn't already been said and left unanswered?  

Besides, I really think there's a lot of misunderstanding about Hinata's feelings for Naruto.  It seems to me Kishimoto is trying to show readers that her primary focus on Naruto is to reach his level of strength and courage. (The scans from Verilance pretty much prove it.)  She wants to stay even with him, be strong and confident enough to walk beside him, for the rest of her life -- not be his girlfriend.  

 

 

I see from comments on this thread that people are splitting hairs (and no, I don't translate for Mangastream  ) as to whether or not NH is dead.  I don't know how much more of a one-sided, hero worshipping, dead end non-relationship it has to be before people will believe it has no future.  Hinata may always love Naruto, but that doesn't make NH a reality or even a possibility.

Wow, I got a lot of varying opinins on this week's chapter.  I'm glad many enjoyed it.  I had the feeling some would think of it as the same as last chapter, and while some die, it's the minority.  I enjoyed it myself.  I gave me quite many feels, unlike last chapter.  As others mentioned, I like that both Naruto and Sakura helped stabalize Shikamaru.  I love how Sakura is contantly worrying over Naruto.  He really does push himself to the brink.  We got much dialogue from Shikamaru.  I'm glad the flashback with his dad was used again, becuase it sums up his feelings about Naruto, and how he wants to stand with him.  I liked the parallel with Hashirama and Tobirama.  I noticed the First Hokage reacting to Shikamaru's comments about him, and that made me laugh a little.  The Tsunade-Sakura moment was sweet too.  The Gokage is rallying each of their villagers for one final stand agains the Juubi and Obito.  Looking forward to next chapter.

 

I also want to mention Kakashi.  It was nice to see him after so long.  When he returns, he has to choose from two fronts to participate in:  the Juubi or Obito.  I can't help he'll help Naruto and Sasuke with Obito, because he feels this is his battle to finish and his stigma to bear.  Eventhough I said both Naruto and Sasuke, he will mostly be helping Naruto, and he will be using his Kamui to help Naruto's attacks connect to Obito.  Also, others have mentioned him meeting Minato.  Who's to say when he teleports in he won't land right in front of him?  I can see that happening.

Yeah, just imagine Minato's reaction when he gets the horrifying realization that Kakashi is about to use it. I could see Kakashi saying something like;

 

"Sensei, it looks like Team Minato will have their reunion at last." 

 

But everyone who was already in the Reaper's belly have already been freed. Don't add more!

 

Maybe at the first I misinterpreted Hinata's thoughts... On the same page where we see Kiba's wanting also to be Naruto's advisor and Shino replied that at the end there will be at least 3 advisors (him, Kiba and Akamaru). Hinata's thoughts could be part ot the same pattern, being at Naruto's side when he will be Hokage, so everyone of his friends can be his advsisors.

You know full well where he is.  Sasuke was there not too long ago, universe-wise.  For us, it now feels like a long time ago.

Some of think this was ns moment whilst other do not. Personally i think its a SUBTLE moment. Hinata is becoming how Sakura was in part 1 she seems to be sikning further and further into "Naruto-Kun" land. Its getting really sad, it's a shame.

 

Great sakura panels and interaction with tsunade, i think there is going to be more Saku > Naru moments. Yeah people have pointed out that even though sasuke is there, he hasn't even popped into her mind as its filled with concern and worry for Naruto.

Yeah as far as I know Kiba tends to always be there for hinata so it seems like a logical choice.

It's possible. I'm not terribly keen on the pairing but, eh, I suppose I don't mind it for a side pairing. I actually prefer Hinata with Neji (and no, I don't see it as incest), but he's dead. Though it's not yet confirmed if he will stay that way...

If Kishi paired Hinata with anyone at the end when we see everyone like an epilogue maybe, Kiba is the one.

Couple of realizations this chapter that the majority should see honestly...

NARUHINA- closed. HAS been closed too. Its like Kishi is closing that door from all sides. The front door, backdoor, side door. We're constantly seeing that with that relationship, it's nothing major
He's pushed it away actually and her panels are now dedicated to being an equal to Naruto and nothing more. We're shown this undeniably this chapter IMO. She heard what Shikamaru said and she knows what he meant snd she added to that. She wants to walk by his side as a comrade, an equal, nothing more. At least that's what it seems like right now.

NARUSAKU- As James has said before, Sasuke is there and with that, we see Sakura worrying about both at times but moreso about Naruto and with that, her devotion and whom she values more between the two is more apparent. She's not fangirling or going bonkers over Sasuke and she's not downing Naruto for him. She hasn't in such a long time. For me, it honestly feels like she can live without Sasuke but can't live without Naruto. With that said, things are looking consistently well for NS, and it feels great. Sakura is such a sweet girl. She was very caring and such this chapter and with that, I wondered how could anyone hate this girl at this point. I look forward to more awesomeness from this pair.
