Sakura resigned herself to medical duties in #633 when she declared that her restorative abilities would be available to anyone who needed assistance. We saw only two or three shinobi healed by her jutsu previously when the Sannin parallel was in full effect yet we're lead to believe that Sakura had managed to close the wounds and injuries of all those on the battlefield. Make no mistake, the replicas are still lurking about the battlefield and the Alliance forces are continuing to battle against them. The only reason that it has not been given much screen time is has to do with Naruto, Sasuke, and the Hokages' fight against Tobi being paramount in terms of significance. 

 

To be fair though, that handseal has shown itself twice now when Tsunade was in the process of performing some unspecified jutsu when Madara was attempting to have Susanoo strike its sword down at the Kages and when Kabuto was entering Sage Mode. 

 

 

Sasuke even noted how the snake summonings appeared to be growing in size and you can even see the actions indicating some sort of physical alteration occurring to them. Sage Mode is known for enhancing the attributes of its user. For summonings, that may include their overall mass. 

Hmm, good catch...Well, not I am even more confused...

I got so excited when Tobirama said, "I'll return this back to you." That was such a badass movement! I always wanted to see Tobirama's full potential. I know he's not Hokage just because he's the little brother of Hashirama. And this chapter just proved that Tobirama is a strong Hokage in his own right. 
 
Also, this chapter showed that Sasuke is indeed more skilled than Naruto. I assume it takes great skills to match one's chakra level to another. Although, when it comes to power, Naruto is definitely stronger. Naruto is a power fighter while Sasuke is a skilled fighter. 
 
Liked the Shikamaru talk. I also believe he's a great Hokage candidate too. And if changing people's hearts are the basic condition of being a Kage, Sakura fits the criteria as well. When people lost all hope, it was her speech that brought hope and led to Shika's doton wall strategy. 
 
One part I didn't like about this chapter is Minato's "You're the main star." Here we have all these alliance shinobis sacrificing their lives for his son, fighting to death against the Bijuu clones, and he calls his own son "the main star"? There should be no such thing as a main star when everybody is equally fighting to death to protect his own son in this deadly battlefield. He shouldn't be claiming his son as the most important, when everybody else is sacrificing their lives to defeat any threat no matter how small it is. If it wasn't for Shikamaru's speech, Minato's words would've done nothing but encouraged the exhausted alliance members that they really are worthless/useless.

Yeah shikamaru was awesome and he definitely would make a great hokage! And sakura as well! These two characters are amazing and by far one of my favourites! And yeah tobirama sure was awesome. It was great that we could see more of his personality. Man he was awesome.

Yep, after three chapters of having everyone on the sidelines, I think next chapter is definitely time to start getting them actually involved.  This is especially true when considering the set up of the volume, as you indicate.

 

I think the only question now is which will come first, the arrival of the Kages, Orochimaru, and the rest of Taka, or the alliance getting involved?

 

btw am i the only one thinking that once that group does show up, its obvious that Sakura will go to heal Naruto and Karin will heal Sasuke?  i mean, what purpose could Hinata serve by going in there?  Sakura is more powerful than she is, and she doesn't have any specific attacks like teloportation or healing that will be of any particular use here either . . . just sayin

 

Yep, I can see the Kages having a big flashy entrance saving some behinds.

 

And b/c I forgot to add this to my last reply:

 

I think the fact that Kishi even had Sai ask Naruto if he had TOLD HER how he feels, and Naruto saying, "How can I when I haven't kept my promise?" indicates that Naruto is eventually going to actually tell Sakura how he feels.

 

It doesn't matter that Sakura "knows" that Naruto loves her - Sai's speech wasn't meant to be a confession by proxy - it was meant to let Sakura know how her actions and inaction affected Naruto.  Sai couldn't tell her why Naruto feels the way that he does.  After his reaction at the confession, Sakura may even doubt his feelings for her a bit ("If you don't like me, then just say so!").

 

Plus, we're talking about the main character's feelings here - if he doesn't get an equal opprtunity as even Hinata did to express his feelings to the girl he's loved since chapter 3, then that it incredibly poor writing, imo.  Naruto DESERVES to tell Sakura how he really feels about her, and Sakura DESERVES to hear it.  If he expressed his thanks and feelings for Hinata, there is no reason that Naruto and Sakura cannot have an equally large moment, especially when there is so much more left unsaid between them at the moment.

 

And if Kishi makes Naruto's confession into a purely comical moment, I'm throwing chairs.  A little comic relief is fine, and even in character, but Naruto's feelings for Sakura are serious and should be portrayed as such.  I am frankly tired of everyone calling Naruto's feelings a joke, and reducing his confession to a comic relief moment will definitely lend credence to that.

 

It doesnt matter why he loves her or not, She knows he loves her, and it's not what you said but viewing all the thing that she did from Naruto's perspective, the promise where she showed she deeply loved Sasuke in front of Naruto who loved her, then she cries because she broke Naruto's heart without having the intention to do it(causing him pain)

; that's why Sai told her that she also make Naruto's suffer because hse constntly break his heart without the intention to do it and due to his feelings he does things like "going to the Raikage to ask him undo the order of kill Sasuke" or letting some random ninjas beat you up;

and understood what Naruto meant by saying that he knows how she's feelings now because Naruto was also heartbroken because of the POAL, and then shows how much she cares about Naruto, she didnt wanted to do the POAL or break his heart because she was desperate and Naruto was the only one who she could rely on, then she made the confession to fix that.

 

the "If you don't like me, then just say so!" it's a response to "I hate people who lies to themselves. 

She didnt meant by saying that Naruto loves her and asked him to confirm that because Naruto has no idea about this.

I think if that panel was to have some sort of naruhina significance then it would have shown a panel of Hinata thinking "Naruto-kun is smiling" and herself smiling instead of the shocked look she had.

@ Chatte: I think she still has the same hand seal as before. But, from what Atheck provided, the possibility of her having SSM is more possible now. I still think that it's possible for her to have SSM. Only the upcoming chapters will tell us for sure.

I believe sakura will gain ssm, either in this arc or in the next arc.
If she truly gain ssm, sakura will officially put on high tier kage level.

I think shikatema has the chance to become canon because shikatema has parallel just like NS and ss.

tbh sage mode for Sakura is too much development for this arc, I would be very happy to see her seal release though :)

I agree with you the whole main star thing is unecessary although he called both Naruto and Sasuke as the main stars, i think because they are the alliance hope for winning the war but still there are the kages coming and so many other stuff, mostly Naruto will win because he can become the Juubi's jinchuuriki if Killer Bee give him a portion of Hachibi's chakra but still the "You're the main stars" doesnt really make sense.

MinaKushi=NaruSaku sealed the deal for me. It was such a vital parallel to our ship and Kishi confirming the parallel was honestly the best thing that could've happened to our ship at the moment. I mean, seriously, Kishi blatantly gave us confirmation that NaruSaku will most certainly become canon. ObiRin is not nearly as huge or crucial as the MinaKushi parallel was, so I'm just wondering... what will the ObiRin parallel prove? Didn't the MinaKushi parallel already give us everything that we needed? Sure an extra parallel would be nice, but is it really necessary?

It's not about it being necessary is just that there's no other way for Naruto to redeem Obito consistently without recurring to this parallel, otherwise expect bad writing again.

Yeah it was a bit selfish but also heartwarming. It shows Minato believes in his son. Plus the statement is sort of true. I mean think about, while its true that there is a whole alliance fighting with them it does not change that it is likely that Naruto and Sasuke will be the ones to finish the job, whatever the finish is. I know that the entire Army is there and I would like every to contribute to the fight too, instead of just standing by, helpless. But even if they are going to help deal with Jubito, it will probably be Naruto or Sasuke or both that will deal the Decisive finish. Cause you know, they're the main characters. Anyways, I completely agree with your statement, but just want to let you know that Minato's statement is not as baseless as you may think.

Not really. Like me, I'm sealed. It's just for the plot development, the parallel has to be made because Rin is crucial to Obito's life. I explained so many times. Actually I'm planning write one for a friend of mine, so when I'm done, I'll share with you guys.
