Does anybody know why Shikamaru looked over at Sakura in the page? What was he seeing that made him tell Ino it was nothing?

 

Shikamaru felt something from heaing the speech between Sai and Sakura. Probably he said "nothing" to Ino in order not do worry her.

I'm glad to see that Tsunade and the other kages are going to be okay. Hopefully we'll get some nice interaction between Tsunade and Sakura. I was one of those people who wanted Tsunade to die (as weird as it sounds), because I felt that Sakura's character would benefit greatly from it, just like Naruto did with Jiraiya's death. However, this works too. Now Sakura won't have to be sad and I won't have to see one of my favorite characters die. I also liked the parallel between Tsunade/Sakura and Orochimaru/Sasuke. That was a nice touch. :)

 

I also really liked the banter between Karin and Suigetsu. Karin's comment about how she liked being stabbed by Sasuke was a bit weird, but her "No I didn't" comment seems to suggest that she is still coflicted about her feelings for Sasuke. Then again, she really shouldn't be conflicted. The guy tried to kill her and showed absolutely no remorse in doing so. Then again, he did apologize. I don't really know. I can't really figure out where Kishi wants to go with her character, although I still believe that even if SasuKarin becomes a reality, Karin is going to make Sasuke own up to his mistakes.

 

As for team 7, the crack are starting to show. Naruto wants to repair the system, while Sasuke just wants to tear it down and then rebuild it in his image. At least, that's how I interpret it. This chapter just shows how broken team 7 truly is. I agree with those was says that Sakura's belief that the old team 7 can be restored (which she got from Naruto) is beginning to fade. She wants to believe that it can happen, but deep down she knows that it's impossible. If Naruto doens't see it now (which he probably won't), I predict that Naruto and Sakura will have to have a serious talk about this. 

 

As for Sai, I'm glad to have him back to once again help Sakura sort out her feelings. At least that's how I hope it will go. She cant keep doing this to herself. That "fake smile" was just heartbreaking. 

 

It also seems like we will be returning to Kakshi and Obito's fight. At first I didn't even realize that Kakshi had also been wounded. I don't know if Kishi will really kill him. It might happen eventually, but first there are things that need to be sorted out.

It looks like Hashirama puts out Sasuke's flames. I say this because the shots seem to be centered on Hashi's wooden seals. At least this is what Pages 16 and 17 look like.

I don't think so. Hashirama was got surprised about Sasuke's words. It was the Juubi itself the one who has purged its burning parts... You can see this from his right shoulder... Sasuke says "It"

So do guys think Sakura is gonna be calm and confident again, soon? She's definitely hurt by Sasuke's attitude, but it's not like it's the first time. It's as though she hasn't prepared herself mentally for that moment.

I'd rather see her actually do something about Sasuke's attitude.

He wants to kill the Juubi because most ninjas on the battefield want it dead. He just switched his hatred towards the 'monster'. 

And the Moon's-Eye-Plan won't work without the Juubi.

Sasuke thinks the only way to make peace is to eleminate what causes the hatred/war, aka Juubi. Naruto knows it's not that easy.

This is up in the air but I don't see her freaking out. The last time they all met she resigned to letting Naruto handle Sasuke however I don't think she's like she used to be where she can't intervene because of her feelings.

I think she'll make it clear she's had enough of Sasuke's BS. I think Team 7 as a whole will try to hide their drama from the rest of the Konoha 11 + Sai because it's not their issue. Sasuke was THEIR teammate and they will handle it. Hence Sakura's reaction to Sai's question. She doesn't trust Sasuke but she's not going to let everyone else know and freak out about it, especially right now. This is also why Shikamaru didn't say anything to Ino.

So yes, Sakura will keep it together. She might have a tearful moment where she lays all her thoughts out on the table but that will be as far as her boo-hooing goes. Then it's Go -Time.

Itachi killed the clan, wants to kill itachi

I used to love this manga. But it really has become a convoluted story that offers nothing to characters anymore. Orochimaru changing? That's sooo stupid.

Why not just have Samehada consume all of the Jubi's chakra then distribute it to Killer Bee or Naruto? The behemoth would be no more and the two jinchuuriki would have several additional beasts as well as Samui, Atsui, and the GinKin siblings' souls to become acquainted with inside of their subconscious. Oh the hysteria that would ensue from having multiple consciousnesses harassing you on a daily basis.

 

It doesn't address Sasuke brutalising the creatures into mindless automatons of destruction but it would make for an amusing what-if.

I think that the battle between Kakashi and Obito is still a genjutsu.

Sakura doesn't have faith in Sasuke, that's something not positive for SS for sure. Sasuke has a plan in his mith, Orochimaru's words can be blurry, he might have turned really good at 100%. He wants to see where will go Sasuke and I can see that Sasuke isn't really good.

 

I think that Team Taka + Orochimaru have some dark plan. Sasuke seems don't want become the Juubi's Jinchuuriki since he had the intention of burning it so he have other in his mind.

 

Sakura's smile panel is one of the best drawned panel of ever time. Well done, Kishi.

Yeah i think he has some dark plan, even the kages are saying "prepare your chakra for later" and "let's discuss while we are on the way" feels like they are aware of the upcoming situation and even Tsunade doesnt trust Orochimaru.

No it's not. Naruto still doesn't feel any malice coming from Sasuke. Sasuke just wants to kill the Juubi as soon as possible, whereas Naruto doesn't even know how to split it into the original Bijuus.

It's not different, i dont know if Naruto feels malice on him or whatever since his malice cames from when he's on emo mode, but there's no difference feels like Sasuke has no plan other than oppose Naruto.

What I didn't like about this chapter is that I feel like Kishi is talking to the audience via Sai too much.

 

It felt like he knows people think Sakura will be head over heels with Sasuke. That's why he wants to show that it's not like that, and show the contrasts by giving Karin the role instead.

I agree, Kishi seems to be talking to the audience directly since 631 and it's getting creepy.....
