*Ahem* You realize of course that Naruto and Sakura are not childhood friends either by definition of length. They are childhood friends only because they spent their late childhood together but not long enough to be considered true childhood friends. point is, just because Yuuki and Shunamori grew up together is not an automatic chance to be a couple. The only reason that it happens so much in Japanese manga love plots is to pump the crap out of the *cuteness* department that will make people go "AAWWW how sweet". That's my impression of it anyway and not that it's a bad thing, but there is something called westermarck effect. Anyway looking it up, basically it states that two individuals who grew up together may see themselves as brother and sister or brother brother/ sister sister, so may not actually be romantically or sexually attracted to each other. I've thought of this concept for the two of them. If you want to punch me you'll have to find where I am.

But if Akira dies in this fanfic. I would say this fanfic deserves a 9/10. 10/10 if Yuuki goes to Shunamori for comfort.

Oh, and to answer the question I thought that having a Sharingan in one eye and a Byakugan in the other seemed a bit strange, so Shunamori switches use of the eyes. He could instantaneously switch between Sharingan and Byakugan depending on the situation, For instance he'd be using Byakugan if he was using gentle fist. 
You said you did not want Yuuki to like Akira because he was good looking and talented and now you say you hope she falls for Shunamori cause he's strong? also since when was Akira dying such a great improvement on the fanfic?
What's the point of life without Shunamori and Yuuki together?
