Just a quick note about the conflicting idea that Sakura is the heroine and yet she's not being given much panel time/development.

Any major Sakura development is not going to come until near the end.

Period.

Hinata is not the heroine, and she's not Naruto's love interest. But all this panel time (now and in the future) is to sharpen the tension.

Sakura may get some big power up, or she may not. She may just prove instrumental when no one else can (through her chakra control). But Sakura's skills are being saved until the end.

Kishimoto has never a lot to fan the flames of shipping (sure both sides have had development, but the hero has always been single-minded in his focus). There's no jealousy, no dating, no nothing. But it may be that now we are entering the end game, Kishimoto is pulling out all the stops and upping the suspense every way he can. It may be that he is pushing the shipping stuff to forward in a way he hasn't done so far.

At any rate, Hinata having some limelight doesn't have any impact on Sakura at all. If Sakura has a big role in the climax of the story, then this is where Hinata gets her shine, before the biggest events.

I've also said many times we should expect some SS as well before it's through. There is some point where it will seem that all is lost — for Naruto and for Sakura. That's part of the plot. And I think that the relationship issues will not be resolved until the last chapter of the whole story.

So this is definitely the time for Hinata to make an appearance. Just keep your fingers crossed there's no SS around the corner.

I feel certain Sakura will get her time to shine, but it's not now. As the main heroine, it's going to come at the end. That's what we're building up for (along with the Naruto/Sasuke fight). And Hinata is just a part of that build up.

So with that post you just said everything that i had in my mind for a long time about kishis writing style and character development.

Come on, guys, some of you are giving up so easily because you don't get what you want. Granted some of it is justified, but it feels like some are just complaining to complain. Not just here, but other places too.

Are you guys really giving up that easily?

Meanwhile the NH fans are taking the chapter and making it a NH moment when really this was just Neji's time to shine. Won't even give the guy credit for what he did.

One thing like i told before hinata is getting her development but even with this i still cant acknowledge it as NH before i thought Neji would say something regarding as "protect hinata" but this didnt even come close to it.

About SS, you know that the SS is not a development for sakura but the inverse, SS deconstruct sakura, she lacks development, and a conclusion to that arc of the summit and even the conclusion of that lover nin making a SS will just deconstruct it, about NS i dont know but i'm certain that we will get her development kishi is drawing her on the chapters to remind us that kishimoto didnt forget about her.
Kakashi is a part of the strategy and he will be back at Naruto's side when naruto returns to the complete kyuubi chakra mode.

With the neji's death, hinata cant be all "naruto-kun" because she will be the leader of her clan(in war) and take responsability for the safety of her clanmates, neji was the leader now that he's dead it passes to hinata.

But still i dont belive he will kill neji probably someome will ask him on the jump fest but if he does not confirm is because he will be like DBZ and Shaman king.

The chapter of today was a RAW so i expecting the official translation tomorrow.

Well neji died withotu trying anything with hinata, died virgin, a heroic death, hero of the nerds.

I fear that this neji's death will bring together Naruto and Hinata... This scene reminds me a lot that scene where Minato e Kushina saved baby naruto from kyuubi's attack....

Okay, so earlier I was really depressed about this but now... believe it or not I'm happy. Really happy, so much I’m smiling a bit…

A lot of people are mentioning the possibility of him being revived and honestly, I'm starting to think he will be - but even in the event that he isn't, I'm still happy for him. Neji's my favorite character and the one thing I love most about him is his pride and selflessness in the face of death.

The Hyuuga clan is a clan of sacrifice.

They are willing to die for their family, comrades and village. Hizashi died for his family, Neji almost died during the Sasuke rescue to keep his friends safe and live up to his promise to his father, Hinata almost died for Naruto, and now Neji's dead (possibly or maybe for sure - most likely for sure) to keep Hinata and Naruto safe - one might argue it was because had he not jumped behind Hinata, she would have 'died' to protect Naruto again...

This is the second time his death has been hinted and while a part of me sees it just like when Hinata jumped out in front of Naruto - confessing she would willingly die for him - being impaled by Pain's rods and lying there dying in front of Naruto... Part of me thinks he's still gone but another part of me thinks he's still got a chance at life. Topped off with the fact that the people at HQ have had something of dying words to Ino and Shikamaru, I feel like Rinne Tensei will happen again...

Part of me thinks everyone has a chance, the other part of me feels like they're all gone for good but I don't know. Neji's so-called death in part one seemed real just like this one. The only difference is the seal being erased this time, but somehow that doesn't convince me entirely... (Was Hizashi's seal still on him in death??? Weird... )

So many people mentioning Obito's rinnegan being displayed for an important reason, other's saying Neji's tale is done. Just because Neji's last words were so complete doesn't really mean it's over... Hinata's confession made it seem like she was finished but she wasn't...

I don't know. I really don't. I always imagined in the back of my head that Neji would die in front of Hinata. I think this may make Hinata take this war seriously and stop being so sacrificial but now I see that sacrifice is a part of their character - every Hyuuga.

But what if this is just like with Hinata’s confession? What if Neji’s not truly dead? But then again, his death was so similar to Itachi’s it’s scary. I guess we won’t know unless we stick around and find out.
Honestly, I don’t know if I want to. Gaara’s already out of commission (my other fav), now Neji. I can’t take much more.

Everyone please, don’t make this about NaruHina. This isn’t about NaruHina.

Naruto’s noticing everyone around him is sinking into despair. Ino and Shika are suddenly depressed and he wanted to find out why – now Neji’s dead and Hinata looks ready to fall apart. Naruto looks numb.

This isn’t about NaruHina. This is about Neji’s bond with Naruto and Hinata. He sacrificed himself so that Hinata wasn’t killed trying to protect Naruto. He pretty much told Naruto how willing Hinata was to die to protect his life and that he was willing to die to protect both of them.
Hinata and her family protecting Naruto is to be expected – and him acknowledging her just shows they’re friends. She’s finally showing that she’s not afraid to be around him. Whether NH happens now is not important anymore. This war has taken a toll for the worse and for you guys to be worried about Naruto acknowledging Hinata is crazy.

Sakura’s in danger too and being protected by Kakashi. Naruto’s being protected by the Hyuuga’s at that moment. Enough with these pairings! Someone died this chapter and EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE thinks to shout NaruHina canonz is tasteless right now. Terribly tasteless.

I agree. This isn't a NH moment. Heck its TE war there are no romantic moment in sad chapter such as this. He's focusing alil bit on all the K-11. He did say the war is their time to shine. That's like saying, oh "the last chapter was a Shika/ino moment cause their dads died" come there are no moments in these situation, not Atleast until the bigger build up. This is just to illustrate growth for all of the k-11. And he's gonna focus alil bit on all of them before the turn around and counter. Like i said just be patient. We are narusaku fans. Narusaku will have there time to shine. And Sakura will have her turn to and it will most Likely come towards the End after everyone else has ha there moments. Ignore the shippers.

I can't speak for everyone. For myself, I read the manga because I like it, not just for shipping wars. Though some seem to read it just for the pairings as they blatantly jump if even one character sneezes in the other's direction. I like the pairing, but not so involved as to take every frame as a pro- or con-.

I really want to see next chapter though cause I am interested in how Naruto is going to take Neji's death and the reactions of others there of. I want to see Naruto have a controlled anger and just unload damage on Obito. Just wail upon him in that badass angry fight mode.

Speaking of which, here is a random thought, I want to see drunk Rock Lee fight again. XD

Sorry, when I think SS in the future, I'm honestly expecting it to be something coming from Sasuke...where he reaches out to her in a ploy to manipulate, but for her, it's could be seen as a moment of choice.

However, I think she's already made her choice, so Kishi couldn't go back to that. It would be hard to have more misty mooning over profile shots of Sasuke. No I think SS is going to come back in a way that is least expected. An appearance of SS. Like if he reached out to her. Or if she had to heal him and everyone around including the Rookies (and especially Ino) said 'Awe, it was meant to be....' But we (and Sakura) knew the truth about who she really cared for.

Anyway, I completely agree. SS is no good for Sakura and I don't think it will be presented as a true development for her character. Instead I think it will be presented as the appearance of SS, just to make the audience believe that she still hasn't made her choice.
