Is it only me? I HATED this chapter.

I'm a fan of both Naruto and Sakura and NaruSaku. I'm not happy with a half-assed NaruSaku scene happening in the expense of Sakura being a damsel in distress. Kishi is called sexist often, and this chapter proved just WHY he is called like that. The girls always needs to be saved. One might argue that he saved Gaara and Onoki too, but at that time there weren't a familiar girl there at the division to save were they?

And this chapter proved how Kishi sucks in romance. Putting NaruSaku and NaruHina together in one chapter just reinforces how he tries to put the two on equal grounds. This makes the end game couple unconvincing. I would rather read a shallow harem story if I wanted to gain excitement of who the main character will end up with. This could be said about NaruSaku and SasuSaku as well.

Edit: If that Naruto who saved Hinata was a clone, how did he not dispel when he got cut by a sword? Sure, Kyuubified Naruto may be strong but are they that strong that they don't take damage from swords?

About the possibility of Naruto being a Zetsu - So two things support this: Naruto's wicked smile, and Kiba's statement about his smell. But my problem with this is that Kiba would not notice any difference in smell if Naruto was a Zetsu. Naruto would no longer smell like himself — he would smell just like the Zetsus all around him. Kiba would have noticed that. He would have recognized that Naruto smelled like the bodies around them. To me, it makes sense that Kiba is picking up on Naruto's kyuubified chakra.

That's what I thought at first, but then Sojobo-san brought up Naruto's "diabolic smile" and compared the way he saved Hinata and her group with the way he saved Sakura and Shizune. But now that I've read your theory it seems I could be half right. If Naruto really was a Zetsu clone, Kiba would have said "He smells exactly like those bodies around us" and went in for the attack, warning the rest of the team instead of saying "He smells different". That isn't telling us that he is definitely a Zetsu clone, because for all we know Naruto could just smell different when in Nine-Tails Chakra mode

There's some theory that when Naruto saved Hinata he could be Zetsu instead. It's one of the last pages in the chappie.

And where the hell is sasuke?! I wonder what he's up to.....

I don't know about the Naruto who saved Hinata being a clone; didn't he gave a more evil looking grin before to Kyuubi, and on other occasions that I can't recall off the top of my head?

I'm glad Naruto and Sakura reunited, but it felt anticlimactic for sure. And despite the fact that he didn't address Hinata, and that others were there, it was the most emphasized reunion this chapter, what with the multiple panels of Hinata's shocked reaction in comparison to Sakura's one mild shocked one.

At least Sakura does in fact seem to be heading out with Naruto, so hopefully this will lead to future scenes of interaction for them, with Sakura working together with him. Still, I'm not expecting much at this point.

I'm neutral to this chapter, and am reserving judgment until I see how these reunions play out.

From what I've read on the subject, they'd be genitically equivalent to half-siblings, though technically cousins like you said. But keep in mind that the universe of this manga is pretty much based on feudal Japan. I'm sure actual sibling marriage wasn't really a rarity in that time period, at least for noble families. So I really don't think 'cousins-that-are-genetically-half-siblings' would have been taboo either.
On top of that, Kishi's never actually shown in the manga that Hinata and Neji's status as 'genetic half-siblings' holds true in any way, shape, or form. Considering that it's a world of fish-men, giant foxes, and humans who can control space and time, I sort of gave up trying to understand the universe through a modern world perspective.

Though, personally, as far as the actual pairing goes, I really don't care for Neji/Hina. Even if it makes sense per feudal Japanese standards, I've never been a big fan of incest pairings in manga. I can handle step-siblings, and maybe distant relatives, but cousin/actual sibling pairings just weird me out. But I guess that's just me being an ignorant American, LOL.

Also, what do you mean with the bolded part of your statement? Even if they're closer to half-siblings than cousins, I don't see how it changes anything. It's incest either way, isn't it?

I think, it would be incest, to keep their bloodline limits pure?

I don't really see any naruhina at all. Naruto never looks at Hinata, never speaks to her, he speaks to the group in general. Nor does Hinata blush or react in any kind of romantic way. I noticed the chapter also puts Hinata in a weak, non heroic position- she is shown still staring at Naruto, seated on the ground even after being saved, and note, Naruto didn't find the threat to her strong enough to bring out rasengan. Compare that to the interaction with Sakura- he uses two rasengan, speaks directly to Sakura, smiles in a happy acknowledging way to her. Then we see her coming with Naruto as he half turns his head back and points forward. (Kishimoto made the comment in 2009 that Sakura is the heroine of the story, not Hinata, and he would be emphasizing that more from now on, so the readers would understand.) It wasn't narusaku in the an overt romantic sense, but their very close bond certainly was certainly emphasized in this chapter, there's a kind of subtly element of their romantic bond, but it's very low key.

Now there were definitely examples of Neiji and Kiba's feelings about Hinata in the chapter. Kishimoto is dropping the least hints there about whether Hinata will end up with Neiji or Kiba. I think it be Kiba, since, Hinata has shown more concern for Kiba over the years. And we have the example of Kiba's mom not having a softer side. She's a true "tough love" type. We saw Kiba doesn't just grouse about his mom like Shikamaru, he outright blames his mom for being so tough she drove his father away. There's some real bitterness there. That's why he likes a soft, non-assertive girl like Hinata. For Neiji it goes back to when he first saw Hinata when he was 4 and she was 3. He thought she was cute. Since he got past his bitterness about what happened to his father and the bird seal, I think a bit of those feelings came back.

Okay, so the chapter stared out like every other chapter we've been having. So I was very pleasantly surprised to see Sakura. But when Naruto swooped in and rasenganed those Zetsus I think I experienced a fangasm. xD I am so very happy to see a reunion! Oh glory glory hallelujah. I agree with what most are saying. A NS moment cannot be too far off in the future. And the way he smiled at her and still calls her Sakura-Chan ....
The NaruHina moment did not bother me in the slightest. Kishi wants to keep all the fans hanging by a thread until it is all resolved. Plus, now people cannot say "Sakura always needs to be saved!" because Hinata needed protection as well.
I DEFINITELY think Sojobo is onto something. What with the weird smile, lack of rasengan, and not to mention that panel of Kiba's smell comment. It all adds up.
Also I just want to say I really appreciate Naruhina488 for being here. You definitely add a little spice to these forums with your similar and different opinions. And I can tell you are a very pleasant and open minded fan. Some people may be threatened by you here but don't let yourself be scared off! (:

Hold on a sec, I might sound like I've misunderstood what you've said, but are you trying to imply that Neji may have romantic feelings for Hinata? I know it's possible for NejiHina to happen considering the Hyuuga clan's traditions, but still. I haven't seen any hints for NejiHina other than Neji being protective over Hinata since they're cousins and the fact that she's in the main family and it's Neji's duty to protect her as a part of the branch family. The only way the two ever got closer was when Hiashi told the truth about his father, and I don't really think anyone would consider that, well, romantic. But I'm just getting a little confused over this bit so...

Yeah after reading what everyone's said... I'm pretty neutral towards whether or not the Naruto near Hinata is a Zetsu clone or not. I guess I'll just wait and see.

Really great chapter here. I like how well Kishi is transitioning through the different events going on right now.

I must admit, some of you guys have noticed some interesting things in this chapter. I completely agree that the Naruto that saved Hinata is a zetsu, and yaw have come up with good evidence to support that claim.

So now Naruto is saving all his friends and playing the hero of the day, however I'm sure most of you can tell how Kishi has been omitting Madara from the last few chapters. Plus the Kage Muu is doing something. I'm sure the enemies are about to have a huge counterstrike. Not only that, but consider that Naruto is probably going to succumb to fatigue at any given time. Fortunately, now he has Sakura with him. Well, if the real Naruto did actually go to Sakura that is.

Really excited about where this is all going.

Anyway on topic of the chapter I don't think we can confirm who the true Naruto is. Nor should we care, if it happens it happens.

Hey guys. So I reread the chapter and there's something interesting to note on the last page (which may or may not lend credibility to the whole Naruto-that-saved-Hinata-is-a-Zetsu idea). The two top panels have Naruto with Shikamaru's group and Naruto with Sakura's group of medinins pointing in some direction presumably to reveal the location of the hidden Zetsus. However, the middle panel showing Naruto with Hinata and Kiba/Akamaru doesn't have him pointing. Naruto just says (rather cryptically) "Everything's all right now". Now I may be reading too much into it but I found that odd. It could just be that Kishimoto chose that panel to show an over confident Naruto. I agree with Tricksie though, I believe that these fights are all building up to the point where Naruto will be severely weakened when yet another hidden card from Madara or Kabutomaru comes out... quite possibly in the next chapter.

Yeah, that's the part that bothers me. But at least, in Sakura's reaction, she seemed pretty worried that Naruto is coming out in the open. Compare that to Hinata's damsel-in-distress look. I prefer Sakura's reaction over Hinata's.

that was a great chapter, i agree that Naruto may seem a lil overpowered, but its no different then the uchiha have been since the beginning of the manga lol. loved the Naruto saving Sakura scene -though i don't think she needed it- I'm really curious to see what happens next. I CANT WAIT, I WANT IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! heheheh sorry, got a lil excited there
