I talking mostily about the first movie, I know he lost in the second because he was in total disvantage, but in the first, I think he lost a little too easily, I know megatron was using civilians to distract optimus, but I couldn't help but to feel that Optimus wasn't strong enough to beat megatron by himself.

Tvtropes puts it best. Generally, the reason why Optimus lost in both the 1st and 2nd movie against Megatron is that: in the 1st movie, there's civilians around him, and in the 2nd, he was looking for Sam after ripping Grindor's face apart. His compassion for humans usually makes it so he's more focused on trying not to crush them accidentally than on his enemy.
If you see him without civilians, such as his fight with Bonecrusher and ESPECIALLY the forest fight, he utterly dominates his enemies. Even The Fallen, with his telekinesis and ancient-ness along with Megatron couldn't take down 'Jetimus Prime.' Still, I'm an Optimus Prime fanboy, so I don't think I'm a good arguer...

And dude, he was dropping Jetfire's pieces after his fight in Egypt, he pretty much just kept the pieces that covered his wounds from the forest fight.

I don't know, it looks nice and has a lot of visual effects. But that's never been a problem with the X-Men movies. So I'm going reserve judgment till another trailer comes out.

Looks like X-men origins: Wolverine but now with Magneto and Professor X
