The thing about Road to Ninja is that the movie wasn't made to solely focus on NaruSaku's development. I recently re-watched it and at a first glance, it looks like it's just meant to talk about bonds between parents and their children. Even Sakura, out of everyone, being chosen doesn't really mean a pairing hint. It fits into appreciating your parents because Sakura always complained about hers so her being without parents in a alternate universe where she realizes how important they are makes sense.
However, what made this more than just a parent-child bond was how Sakura was chosen to be the daughter of the Fourth Hokage and revered as a "daughter of a hero" with the price of her parents dead. She literally switched places with Naruto to the exact detail, definitely deliberate. The question is why? At the very end of the film, Sakura came to an understanding of Naruto that didn't need to be fit in for the parent-child relationships. That's how Kishi was implying IMO that NaruSaku is endgame. The MinaKushi/NaruSaku parallels again and the ship teases with everyone thinking there is something between them just added it on more.
I feel like RtN made it clear NS was the pairing to be canon. But even though I love that movie, I still dislike Sakura's minor fangirling of Sasuke after just giving her a rose. What I hated even more was her insensitive "Sasuke-kun would understand me" comment she said to Naruto even if the end result was worth it. It just seemed so OCC of the Sakura we know. She has to be more grown-up about Sasuke and her relationship with Naruto by then.
I also listened to Road to Charasuke recently that had Sakura fangirling ridiculously over Playboy Sasuke and it really annoyed me since that contradicts her development (But that drama CD was still frickin' hilarious ). Even when I know not to take it seriously and remember all NaruSaku's development, I don't like it when Part 2 Sakura is written that regressed in anything even for comedy.
Still, there's one interesting thing I noticed about Road to Charasuke and RtN. Even if Sakura fell for Sasuke's charms again, it was pointed out every time how she was still making the wrong choice. SS was still negative and NS was still positive. Sasuke was still selfish; he didn't know her or genuinely like her like that. But Naruto was literally described, in the words of Ino, as the perfect match for her while Sasuke was all wrong. It's just funny how, even in an alternate universe, SS still wouldn't work. This message was too obvious for it to even be called subtext. And the dying rose Sasuke gave her? Too obvious.
And, in both, it started out seeming SS for Sakura but then it ended on a high note for NS. Sakura thought Sasuke would understand, but instead she goes back to Naruto after realizing Sasuke's playboy deal. She thought more about his feelings and protected him against Obito while calling it the "longest date ever". In Road to Charasuke, Sakura spent all that time fangirling over Sasuke but at the very end she was leaving to meet Naruto. Her friends thought they "protected" her from Sasuke and then had Ino say, "The one who matches Sakura the most ... the boy so alike to Minato-san ... gentle Menma-kun (Naruto)".
Like I said, no matter how "obvious" it is that Sakura loves Sasuke and not Naruto, the more subtle development towards Sakura's feelings for Naruto doesn't lie. I don't even know why NS as most likely to be canon is so hard to grasp, but if they're that focused on Sakura's love for Sasuke, then look "underneath the underneath." Not that NH/SS's shipping bias rarely let them unfortunately.

Yes I remember that too ahah! Right after the first trailers, they kept saying that this was going to be "Kishi's movie" because of the SS and NH scenes.
In the end they were right, it was Kishimoto's movie ;)
Exactly. Karma.

Sugoi dis. Every inch of this was correct. Even I felt annoyed at Sakura's insensitive "Sasuke-kun would understand" and she got flattered by the rose Sasuke gave her and his so called 'charms' well 'dark' charms. In that Road to Charasuke did she literally spent the whole time with Sasuke!! ARGH!!! But still, it was Naruto all the way. NS all the way.

If you didn't hear it, it was Hinata that planned it in order to make her go away with Sasuke as she goes with Naruto. That's why she went out to Sasuke. Needless to say, it backfired in the end. It was pretty funny though, especially towards the end, where Sasuke just quickly shift his game to Hinata in a second.

Ah the RTN movie I remember the fandom's reaction like it was yesterday. When they saw trailers showing NH and SS hints they cheered loudly" this is Kishi's movie this is going to be canon!". When the movie was released showing a focus they shrugged it off while holding their rage" nah this is not canon this movie is one big filler even if Kishi wrote the story and directed the story".

or "kishi is just giving ns fanservice in other media outlets to please the ns fans coz ns won't be canon in the manga"
dat damage control

Hey 4Life, according to you how will the battle between Naruto and Sasuke unfold and who will win? Will they both die?
I don't know how it will unfold, but since Sasuke got the eye, the elder toad's prediction truly points to him. I don't know how the setup will be, but they will most certainly fight. I believe Naruto will come out as the victor because Sasuke has won a battle, but now Naruto needs to win to prove that he is the man that Sasuke will acknowledge as a guy who can beat him, but their rivalry is not over. Sasuke is only cocky because he won before, so he believe he can win again, let alone kill him. They won't die but their power is strong enough to end each other, so things will get messy.

Whether she's a tsundere, a normal person or a friggin velociraptor doesn't matterPepsi@ um hello...Sakura is a tsundere ring any bells? Go to wiki and find the meaning of the word. You'll how familiar a tsundere is a shounen manga.

Whether she's a tsundere, a normal person or a friggin velociraptor doesn't matter
I was asking for general consensus on what the context of the blush was since it was debatable, whether she blushed because she did consider it a date or if she didn't consider it a date and was simply using it as excuse to get away from her parents. Either scenario seems pretty likely which is why I wanted to ask.
Either way, the NH fans always make up the excuse that its a movie and there for not canon. even though it was written and endorsed by Kishsimoto, guess they can't admit they are wrong.

@Pepsi the ending tells you everything in the end she did consider it as the longest date ever and to top it of she says that in front of her parents and after that they smiled , either way she was the one this time that wanted to go on a date excuse or not in the beginning it doesn't matter also there was no reason for her to blush if she didn't consider it as a date .

It's not canon, yes it was written by Kishimoto.
Unless if you want to take Sakura's behavior on the begining as canon where she acts like a spoiled little kid and says that Sasuke would understood her fight with her parents.
Also her lack of breasts.
RTN is as spin-off like the other movies it doesnt change with the fact it was written by Kishi or not.
In my books the fact Kishi "write" the movie since he write it alone obviously, was more used as a marketing factor, he hasnt revealed anything new from the stories with that movie neither added something new like on DBZ Battle of Gods where Akira stated as canon material.

Which I've told you - time and time again - is dangerous! There will never be consensus, son, among those you have helped to ascend. They will all differ in their views of what it means to be free. The peace you so desperately seek does not exist.
These men are united now by a common cause. But when this battle is finished they will fall to fighting amongst themselves about how best to ensure control. In time it will lead to war. You will see.
