Although, I will criticize him for not saying this much sooner. It probably would've saved the whole world a damn good deal of trouble.

Moody's is in between the two with a AAA rating, but a negative outlook.

Standard and Poor's is owned by McGraw-Hill. Harold McGraw III, the current CEO, worked for H.W. Bush, Dole, W. Bush, Cheney, Giuliani and is currently working for Romney 2012. So the person who has downgraded the nation's credit, "works for Mitt Romney." And Romney released a prepared statement only minutes following news of the downgrade.
I'm sure it's just a coincidence
the pertinent parts are bolded.

Nehhh...Romney already said corporations are people...so i don't really care if corporations are in his inner circle since he already admitted it. It scares me that people like Perry, Romney, Santorum, and Bachman could become president...but if you think about it, Obama says a very similar message, he just uses a different envelope.

Why do people in this thread keep talking about Santorum as if he has a shot in hell of winning anything? He doesn't. I can't remember the last time he did. He's never had even a respectable total in anything close to a recent poll by anyone.
The only thing I fear more than an Obama second term is a Ron Paul Presidency.

I suspect when Romney said he was referring to the legal distinction. Whether one qualifies as a "person" has legal significance. The most recent event being...the Citizens United case. I wouldn't be surprised if it was in relation to that, but really, I don't care enough to go check.

Yeah....
It investigates S&P for events that took place back in 2008 (it's ratings of the Mortgage Backed Securities) three years later, but doesn't appear to be doing the same for Fitch and Moody's, both of whom did the same thing back in 2008. They claim that it's been on going, but leak it now....
Political Retribution on parade. Why wait this long and go after the one that downgraded you when all three engaged in the suspected behevaior?
I know. I said that to tweek Strangelove.
Since you saw it and I'm lazy right now...was he talking solely the First Amendment, the Constitution, or all law (i.e. regulations, statutes, etc.). Whether a corporation constitutes a person differs immensely depends on what you are talking about. Congress can define a corporation as a person for purposes of statutory law all it wants it too.
I haven't delved enough into the opinion itself to form an opinion either way whether that applies. I'd need to read it in full as well the supporting case law cited.
That said one of the things that hacks me off about the criticism of that case is how selective it is. The case did away with sections of McCain Feingold that, in addition, to allowing Corportations to spend their own money on political ads, allowed labor unions and other entities covered by the restriction to do the same thing and, yet, people like Van Holland and his DISCLOSE act only address corporations.
Most of the criticism I've seen of the case isn't rooted in any kind of contitution principals. It's about silencing a speaker they hate.

That's right, because every president since Nixon believed in equal rights. ^^ Also if Obama gets a second term he will finish the presidency with a lower approval rating than Bush, heck right now Bush beats Obama with a higher approval rating when he left office. But hey let's hit the same rock ounce again and elect the same people who have been flushing us down the drain for 12 years. Doesn't matter right? At least one in the middle of those donkeys and elephants is bound to get it right.
