He basically said that the Kushina parallels and much of the NS development were a red herring and not serious...and there'll be a new Naruto movie in August starring Bolt and his merry band of kittenup kids...

In summary:  "Actually, I did draw Naruto and Sakura close on purpose.  That was the red herring.  I did it to fool everyone. SUCKERS!"

 

So we didn't even read the manga wrong.  We read it right.  He just is a terrible troll.

I don't think he wanted to mislead us. I'll give Kishi the benefit of the doubt and say that he was forced into this. Why I'm saying this? The last two chapters and the interview sounds like his last protest against the ending.

The skyscrapers coming out of nowhere.
Naruto, a married man who stays in his office for days drinking whiskey and unhealthy cup ramen openly going against his mother's last wishes.......
Sarada who looks like she was planned to be Sasuke and Karin's child
Kishi disgracing every character except for Hinata

The interview.....saying that he was playing with the fans instead of focusing on the story.....it's like he's shouting out NOT to watch the movie in a subtle way.

Kishi wasn't that much of a good writer but one thing he was consistent of, regardless of how badly written it was, was the team seven bond and Naruto's never give up personality. But he was robbed of that.

As many ppl said even if NH was canon he could've made 699 and 700 and the movie better. Instead, he went out of his way to make it look bad as he possibly could.

And therefore I conclude that this was the biggest protest he could do.

And the Kushina paralallel while the strongest wasn't the only paralallel NS had.
In the end was just a question of Kishimoto being stupid and not developing his chosen pairing and choosing to develop a misleaded pairing

He said that all the parallels with Kushina and Sakura were all deliberately misleading and fake and Naruto and Sakura were placed closed together to further how "misleading it is" and NH was always endgame.

If that was the case then what's the point of reading literature in the first place? Might just as well read only the ending and be done with it.

You know what? I think I want to believe in this too. If this is indeed the case, then I wouldn't be surprised if some time in the future he comes out and says as much.
