Depend on popularity and sales.

Maybe if Kishi fails in his next project, it could happen. But who knows. The world is burnt out, so hard to say. If the series can't carry the name, then it's going to fail bad. This movie and spin-off is still using the main cast, which I would have thought it will be only on Bolt and others as Naruto is just cameo/reference. But looks like the moral of father is in play and you can only go so far. Not all series that's popular at first can carry to the next.

The ones with him likening Naruto to Itachi, as well as the ones with him saying he had an ounce of concern for Naruto. People may hate me for this, but there was zero justification for them to become friends in the first place. Sasuke was nothing but a bully to Naruto, and the entirety of Konoha (the ones that knew about their relationship) supported it. That makes Kakashi, Sakura etc that much more disgusting. Than they already are. It's like Kishi took all the world issues and had his characters support the bad side of those issues. Domestic violence? Better have a abusive relationship. Man has romantic feelings? Downplay those because they aren't worth as much as his femal counterpart. Women's development? Develops chest instead of character. The list goes on.

 

I agree with this. I mean the SNS bond is still there, but Kishi failed to properly develop it in believable way so Naruto's obsession could make sense

 

 

It just seems like Kishi never kept up with his own story. He writes down a new idea for it and is now going back periodically to see if it actually fits in there somehow. I'm starting think the most common phrase heard in his studio is "kitten, now how am I gonna explain this."

He is tired of Naruto, my guess is that he is going to do the burrito movie and then retire himself from the franchise  since he is tired as hell of it and alreadyu managed to get a hold of quite some cash

Yeah, there was nothing in chapters 1-697 to indicate that Sasuke had any positive feelings towards Naruto when they were kids. If you ask me, this retcon really takes something away from the early stages of Naruto where readers really felt like he was ostracized and alone. But wait! Seasick always admired him sorta maybe?

 

Ha! That Seasick autocorrect is awesome! Completely agree - Naruto and Sasuke were never ever shown as bffs, only rivals. And Sasuke was never truly shown with redeeming qualities toward his team until he was bit by Orochimaru and saved Naruto and Sakura. That's it. Yes and the retcon does more damage than anything. 

 

In fact, all Kishi's retcons are based on his hope that no one will ever go back and read his stories again. Because then you'd see what a bunch of BS it is now! 

 

Proof is in the pudding that everything from the war arc to the Last was a business decision that was made to keep the franchise going, rather than properly finish the story.

So true. If they were going to retcon anything it would be to insert some bonding scenes like he did with Sasuke and Itachi, giving Naruto and Sasuke time to get along together. But it didn't happen. And so Naruto's obsession with Sasuke just makes Naruto look bad in the end. Not heroic, but weak and blinded by some feeling of friendship that was never there to begin with.

kakashi has been very productive in the war. his sharingan and analytical skills were of very use. naruto couldn't have possibly gotten the many openings he had when he faced obito without kakashi, not to mention he wouldn't have been unmasked. he strained his sharingan so much by using kamui to help launch a surprise attack on obitio and madara.

I think he is not prepared. You know the feeling when you think you can do something but when you actualy do it is not as easy as you thought. His dream is to become mangaka he think it will be easy, and in reality he shock , theres alot preasure from SP and SJ and the fans [NH/SS] , popularity issue, deadline. He is not prepared to deal with all of this and in the end he is mindbroke or sold out.

I think whoever write or comes with this idea want to teach us that we should always forgive anyone who hurt us physically and mentally. They dont realise we are human capable of terrible things we are not pure like god who can just forgive anyone. Sasuke cannot and should never be redeem because thats what makes him what he is and avenger. If he reedem you take away 75% of what he is , what make him "Sasuke". They dont understand sometimes the only cure for bad guys is Death. EVEN sasuke brother Uchiha Itachi said it himself, "You never knew/know what kind of person you are until you are about to die" to Kisame. Sasuke should have died and ended uchiha curse and become hero. If he lived another madara will eventualy spawn and war will happen again.

This is a another way of thinking that could make sense within the story, it could work out, really 

But another way I think, could be is Sasuke not dying and living his life as a celibate with the uchiha ending with him, at least like this he could redeem himself in life other than in death and bring full circle to Naruto's goals

You can't turn Naruto in to a victim in Part 1 to "bullying", the first chapter in which Sasuke is introduced we have Naruto transforming into him to try and ruin a relationship with someone, he goes up to him and kittening stares at him for no reason other than jealousy, and he constantly starts kitten with him.

i think kakashi had a lot of badass moments, especially when he teamed up with naruto, bee and gai. that kamui just never gets old imo, especially the way he used it in combat.

That fight against Obito together with Gai,Bee and Naruto  was his last badass moment not counting the horrible asspull
