Moreno's on the DL for most of the season too...Dunno how keeping him would have helped. That has been Moreno's problem for his whole career.

Moreno is at practice today.... and he is 3x better than Ball. Now Hillman is Peyton's starting runnerback. He is screwed.. Not this week because they have the Jets, but all the other weeks. For example. Broncos go to New England in 4 weeks. Without a run game, how will you challenge the Patriots....? Patriots might have the best defense in the league now that Browner is off of suspension. Not just that, but Patriots offense has finally started to play good. That means defense will be out there a whole lot less. Meaning less yards and touchdowns, meaning statistics will put New England in the top 3 soon.

I'm not talking about the Pats, I'm only saying I wouldn't spend a bunch of money on keeping a guy that can't stay on the field. My Panthers are still in salary cap hell because we are doing that (See Jonathan Stewart).

Then why in the world spend so much on Talib? He won't be 100% in the playoffs. He'll be lucky to even be playing.

Who is defending the Talib signing? It's a non-sequitor. That letting Moreno walk doesn't mean I fine with the Talib signing, but I can guess their thinking:

It's a passing league. RB's aren't as valuable as they once were. It doesn't help that they age fast. If you have a Murray then you might pay for it, but short of that they aren't THAT hard to replace if your offensive line doesn't suck. As McCoy is finding out it's hard to be a good back when your line sucks.

Denver in particular got abused by the Seattle secondary in the superbowl. People are willing to pay a premium for good secondary players in part to emulate Seattle and because, well, it's a passing league at the moment.

So, CB > RB for most teams. People are going to generally pay more for good corners right now.

As I said, I think there are only a few people I'd spend a bunch of money to sign after watching Marty Hurney ruin the Panthers cap space for half a decade. Moreno isn't a DeMarco Murray or a 2013 LeSean McCoy.

Wait.... are you saying Murray is the best runnerback in the league? xD!!!

He might the 5th best if he is lucky. He is always hurt, and he fumbles way too much.

Get better soon Ridley and Mayo. We'll know more about them tomorrow. Heard their both serious injuries, but Patriots think Ridley has a more season-ending injury. We have 3 other talented runnerbacks. People thought James White might of taken Ridley's starting position in the preseason, so I hope he is back from the inactive list to play the jets this Thursday.

The danger with nfc east teams is how sporadically things can turn around.

Eagles have had a potent offense for years but for some reason have never really done the job. Giants have started several seasons  just god awful and then go on to be red hot at the end, a couple of those years leading to a Superbowl rings. The Cowboys have had seasons with a few games where they seem indomitable and then suddenly implode on themselves. Washington is the only team that has kind of changed... a little.

It's hard for some fans and maybe even gamblers to trust any of those teams. But yeah. That run game...

A lot of teams that were supposed to be good or had been consistently good in years past were kind of turned on their heads, even if they eventually won the game.

The bad news: Stevan Ridley... out for the season.

The good news: Former Patriots power back Ben Jarvis Green Ellis is a free agent.

Speaking of out for the season....Knowshon Moreno is down for the count as well. That is why I wouldn't spend a ton of money to keep such an injury prone player.

Kinda pissed on Rivera.. 4th and 1 and in OT. Newton has been running all over the Bengals and the Panthers D hasn't stopped anyone since Week 2, let alone the Bengals for pretty much the whole second half. So....you be safe kick the field goal and the Bengals predictably march down to the other end with plenty of time for the kick.

Lucky for him, Nugent missed. I understand the risk, but in this case it was more than worth it.
