nope. he said in a recent interview he intended to make Naruto a ramen boy but his editor at that time told him it was a stupid plot and couldn't work. Nomura had to kill Aerith because it was either her or Barret, they felt that if they killed Barret there wouldnt be much emotional impact on the player. Besides the "killing a character was because Sakaguchi's mother had just passed away and he wanted to implement the sense of the loss of a loved one on the game.

It's during the process of creating FF7, he said that "....in the original setting, Aerith is the only heroine, there's no Tifa. One night I called Kitase-san and said 'Let's kill Aerith and create Tifa." He said there's no dare make such decision, so it'd be rather something. Later on his statement caused fan's unsatisfied criticism, so he explained in another interview that "I didn't mean that, it's his direct decision."

I honestly don't think you played the game at all. First of all, there is no such game as Dissidia 2, it's called Dissidia 012 Duodecim because it serves as a prequel.

 

Secondly, Aerith was not in the game as a character. She was ONLY an ASSIST, which is what this game calls summons. That's the reason why she "can't be hurt" -- she is literally just a two-second attack that the player can use in battle. You might as well say Cloud's sword is Nomura's favourite character because it can't get damaged either.
 

 

-Advent children was originally going to be about a bunch of kids trying to send a message to Cloud from Aerith's part. Which resonates through the whole original AC. Even in the Extended edition which Nomura says the original is still canon and has a preference over the new one since it is sort of a "SW special edition kind of pull out, lucas thing". But at the end of the day it was all about the message, Cloud finding the strenght to forgive himself because of his failure to protect his beloved one.

 

I can't seem to decipher what you're trying to say, do you have a source for it? Because the complete edition only solidified Cloud feeling sorry for Zack. The dude even appeared during his final fight against Sephiroth, not Aerith. Seriously, any importance Aerith had as a singular resonant character was really wiped out during the re-release of the movie. If Nomura considers his draft script to be canon, he really did a poor job of it when they crammed in those extra Zack scenes in the film.

I haven't seen the film since it was first released either. The song is called Calling, it was released about a decade before the movie was. Yes, Cloud was on a bike going through fields of flowers. Yes, Aerith was shown to be among the yellow flowers in a different frame. But the end of the movie has Cloud putting yellow flowers next to his photo of Tifa with the rest of AVALANCHE.

 

I am not saying that Cloud and Tifa didnt had history but the canon thing was pretty much supposed to be Aerith. You have to also remember that this is an RPG so you can basically hit on anyone you want "even barret" Besides if he didnt love her then why did he told Tifa - I think I can meet her there, yeah lets go meet her. Near the end of the game? And then you have the official art by Amano with these two guys and then all the fanservice that Nomura just loves to throw.

The RPG element of the game does not mean that this is a harem RPG. That was only for the Golden Saucer minigame, which actually doesn't impact on the overall story at all. For the sole purpose of analysing the merits of cloti vs clerith, the shipping fandom are usually ignore these game mechanics. FFX had a similar mechanism where you can get Tidus to hit on Rikku or Lulu --- but it's pretty obvious who his real love interest is.

 

I'm personally indifferent to cloti as a whole; I find Cloud's endless routine with being sad to be a boring and predictable story.

 

 

The stuff that I mentioned about nomura was an actual interview from him, you can search for it in the internet. When it comes to this things, I always bring facts and concrete references like the stuff that I have been doing. Also Cloud's mom told him that an older girl would suit him that could take care for him. Guess who was the older love interest in the game for one year? And you know, they say mother knows best.

Go play Crisis Core. The game literally forces you to visit Aerith in between missions. The only time he never called her was after he died. He was flirty to other women, but he never cheated on Aerith.

 

Cloud's mother wanted her son to marry an older woman not because the game was telling you Aerith was better. It was to show how weak and dependent her son was on her, which is ironic because she dies. And really, telling your son to marry someone who will coddle him like a child is plain disturbing.

The logic that you are using is the same as "Sakura loved sasuke since childhood" granted these guys where actual friends. However you have to also remember that one of Cloud's ongoing themes has always been "wanting to meet her again" why would he want to do that if his true love is Tifa? it wouldnt make sense.

 

Amano can draw whatever he likes; he has no role in creating the games at all. Nomura designed Aerith to be normal, it's Tifa he pimped out to be fanservice.

 

The Kingdom Hearts universe has nothing to do with the FFVII universe.

But in Clerith's case, they showed Aerith's relationship with Zack in Crisis Core, which was about over a decade after FFVII was released. Aerith had much more chemistry with Zack than she did with Cloud, and considering she as killed off in the first half of the game, it seemed a bit redundant to argue Aerith vs Tifa.

 

The other thing was that SE basically made Cloud into nothing but an emo shell of a man. He quickly became less popular and I would guess even some of the clerith fans were sick of it. Zack, on the other hand, was a ray of sunshine.

 

 

 

No, Cloud's childhood crush was Tifa, he simply forgot about it and most of his other memories because he thought he was Zack for about half of the game. They had the whole cliched childhood promise and everything.

I think Cloud is pretty justified to be Emo...he's been  experimented on,watched his friends die, been mind kittened, puppeted, , all but forced to fight for the sake a world without knowing who he was, gone into a catatonic state, been pieced together, saved the world...finally finds happiness and makes a family, get kittened over again trying to save a member of that family, and all the guilt comes rushing back, and he's all but sentenced himself and his son to die by his reoccurring ability to fail at life  

He's got a pretty kitten life and the only bright spots are Tifa and those kids. ( and on a smaller scale probably the rest of the living gang.)

People always forget that Cloud WAS happy living with Tifa as a family, he's not miserable or moping around he's LIVING "After This, I think I'll be okay...Because I have you now." ( to Tifa.) "You've always had me." ( Tifa) "What I mean is Kind of different now." ( Cloud as he freaking smiles at her.) he gets the 'stigma, fails at saving his own life and his son's and gives up even fighting to try as the guilt of everything crushes him. He goes to that Church to WAIT and DIE. 

I don't see how people can argue Clerith is greater then Cloti...Maybe before the rest of the compilation came out, but NOW? Its pretty obvious.

Seph and Aerith were also lovers, then siblings in the those drafts. Tifa wasn't even going to be in the game by those drafts. You can't judge who is whose true love by what was SUPPOSED to be otherwise Sephiroth and Aerith are incestuous lovers  

The fact that Aerith is an ASSIST and not a FULL Character in comparison to Tifa in 012 just shows who the real favorite is in IMO. LEts also not forget that there are SEVERE romantic Cloti undertones and overtones in that game Yuna " You want to protect her!" Cloud; "Please protect my friend..." As he lays dying. ( one can whine that he says "Friend" but at least he mentions her despite having his true memories in this game. Aerith is never talked about.) Everything he does in that game is for Tifa, he even dies for her.  

Tifa is also presented as his light in KH, its in defense of HER from Sephiroth that he finds what he's been needing but avoiding, a mirror to their ACC relationship. He NEEDS her, but he runs from her because of his own problems. 

That line about "lets go meet her there." is like saying "We'll see her again sometime." As in WHEN THEY ALL DIE. Tifa will be there as well so....unless a person is hoping for a 3-some...  Its not Cloud going alone. He will be with TIFA as well. As for the shipping mechanics, once more there are CANON scenes in that game.

Under the Highwind, confirming matching feelings without words is a canon scene.  Again, Cloud would be an even bigger tool if he was boning Tifa while moping around for his lost True love Aerith days after she has died
