The problem with Digimon is the english dub was what sparked Tai/Sora... even though there wasn't much to go on in Japan either, the dub added Tai to the mix

Well she is among his favorites because he said so himself.

Why do you think that Cloud and Aerith reunite at the end of Kingdom hearts? Or why Cloud expresses that he wants to meet someone while holding his crystal which is Aerith's Holy Materia, also in the ending cinematic he appears at a familiar flower field.
Aerith also Appearing as a support character in Dissidia 2 and no matter what you do, you cant harm her.
Also in the Ultimania she is listed as Koibito "sweetheart" on her relationship with Cloud. And what about the movie? The whole thing is about Cloud's depression because of Aerith and Tifa appears to be really worked up about it because Cloud is missing and hanging out at Aerith's old place. She even tells her "what's it gonna be, us or our memories? Heck even at the end of the movie credits Cloud goes to meet Aerith at the flower field.

I mean if she wasnt his true love then I dont see what would be the point of all of this stuff I just mentioned, and It is definitely not for marketing reasons since Tifa seems to be most popular and well known among people. That's why I used titanic as an example.

Aerith was not an invincible support character in Dissidia 012 Duodecim, she was an assist. Which was just a summon used in battles. She literally made no appearance in the story whatsoever. Guess who did? Tifa.

 

No, Advent Children was not about Aerith. It was all about Cloud emoing, be it about his Geostigma or inability to save Aerith and Zack. The Complete edition also expands more about Zack's role.

 

Cloud doesn't meet Aerith in the flower field, she is dead and floating in the Lifestream somewhere. It wasn't meant to be literal; in the end you see him putting flowers in the home he shares with Tifa.

 

Tifa doesn't say "what's it gonna be, us or our memories?". She says "were we defeated by a memory," which is confirmed by Cloud himself as Sephiroth ("stay there, in my memories"/ "I will not be a memory").

 

Cloud and Aerith was not meant to be written as "true love", Aerith literally said about less than a week before she died that she didn't know the real Cloud. Yes, she was written to be Cloud's love interest in the first drafts of the game's story. But this was changed. You'll have to ignore the whole backstory about Cloud and Tifa, his childhood crush for you to say Aerith was Cloud's soulmate. You would also have to ignore that Cloud spent their entire duration together thinking he was Zack, who was Aerith's boyfriend.

Nomura had to kill Aerith because it was either her or Barret, they felt that if they killed Barret there wouldnt be much emotional impact on the player. Besides the "killing a character was because Sakaguchi's mother had just passed away and he wanted to implement the sense of the loss of a loved one on the game.

-Aerith still cant be hurt in Dissidia 2, Tifa was in there because she is the favorite of the game director "which was not nomura, he was just the producer"
-Advent children was originally going to be about a bunch of kids trying to send a message to Cloud from Aerith's part. Which resonates through the whole original AC. Even in the Extended edition which Nomura says the original is still canon and has a preference over the new one since it is sort of a "SW special edition kind of pull out, lucas thing". But at the end of the day it was all about the message, Cloud finding the strenght to forgive himself because of his failure to protect his beloved one.
-I havent seen the movie in a VERY long while, but I do remember him riding to a flower field where she is shown to be, also the end song happens to be called "the calling"
 

I am not saying that Cloud and Tifa didnt had history but the canon thing was pretty much supposed to be Aerith. You have to also remember that this is an RPG so you can basically hit on anyone you want "even barret" Besides if he didnt love her then why did he told Tifa - I think I can meet her there, yeah lets go meet her. Near the end of the game? And then you have the official art by Amano with these two guys and then all the fanservice that Nomura just loves to throw.

But in Clerith's case, they showed Aerith's relationship with Zack in Crisis Core, which was about over a decade after FFVII was released. Aerith had much more chemistry with Zack than she did with Cloud, and considering she as killed off in the first half of the game, it seemed a bit redundant to argue Aerith vs Tifa.

 

The other thing was that SE basically made Cloud into nothing but an emo shell of a man. He quickly became less popular and I would guess even some of the clerith fans were sick of it. Zack, on the other hand, was a ray of sunshine.

 

 

 

No, Cloud's childhood crush was Tifa, he simply forgot about it and most of his other memories because he thought he was Zack for about half of the game. They had the whole cliched childhood promise and everything.

The stuff that I mentioned about nomura was an actual interview from him, you can search for it in the internet. When it comes to this things, I always bring facts and concrete references like the stuff that I have been doing. That site seems to biased - granted I could not access it - and the info of Nomura hating Aerith it's a blatand lie.

 

Nomura said that Zack and Aerith's thing was a first love thing, they where both teenagers and where in their first relationship. Besides Aerith got pretty pissed off because Zack never called her and was a well known womanizer, which he was indeed.

 

Also Cloud's mom told him that an older girl would suit him that could take care for him. Guess who was the older love interest in the game for one year? And you know, they say mother knows best.

Hmm not quite, he didnt respond that way to Aerith just because he had the manerisms of Zack.

Besides Amano and Nomura pretty much seem to disagree with you. With all the art and fanservice that they have bee throwing.
Now you just wait for Kingdom Hearts 3, it's the conclusion so something may happen.
 

Cloud had a crush on Tifa but if he loved her how come they where already grown ups and they still where just comrades? The logic that you are using is the same as "Sakura loved sasuke since childhood" granted these guys where actual friends. However you have to also remember that one of Cloud's ongoing themes has always been "wanting to meet her again" why would he want to do that if his true love is Tifa? it wouldnt make sense.

 

Tiller: You where right, this just turned out to be one hilarious party. People are laughing with a giant grin instead of being sad because of this movie. It's one of those times where it is so bad that it is actually hilarious.

Hinata here and there everywhere! So many spoilers coming out! I don't know why they have to make Hinata one of the main characters in this kitten movie. Hinata is just a side character who loves the main hero just like Lee to Sakura and Ino to Sasuke. She didn't give any importance to the manga. The entire manga is all about team 7 and it revolves to Naruto wanting to Save Sasuke and selflessly loving Sakura. These Fangirls from SP are so BS that they have to control Kishimoto's work. It really pisses me off seeing Hinata's character like that. Is this the SP and Kishimoto wants us to understand about Love? If it is about Love, kishi should make Sakura moving on. After Sasuke degrading and putting her down makes the girl disrespected. You don't have to love a guy who treated you like that for so many years. You should learn to LOVE yourself (if they want to show the meaning of Love in the manga). It was always Naruto lifting and cheering her up. He loves her in the kittening entire manga! Sasuke already said he has no reason to love Sakura so why they have a child now? Is he using her to rebuild his clan? What kind of message this to the readers especially for kids? Hinata who always like that to make us pity her or Naruto in a way. Just because this girl is shy, kind, big boobs or whatsoever so perfect person, Naruto should get her. The Manga or the Movie should deliver a message to something like YOU COME TO LOVE NOT BY FINDING THE PERFECT PERSON, BUT BY LEARNING TO SEE AN IMPERFECT PERSON PERFECTLY. NaruSaku has this THIS! This kind of Love! We know Sakura is not perfect but for Naruto he loves this imperfect girl perfectly! And for Sakura from the beginning of Shippuuden, she start seeing Naruto on which Yamato and Sai noticed it. This is what I understand and learned in the manga! Not this pathetic Naruhina Love story! Full of poop!

He get the memory/personality of zack. And sephirot use it to manipulate him. Zack and aerith is a couple. Thus we can conclude that his feeling to aerith is by product of zack memory/personality.
Maybe we could debate with Amano art, but not with nomura fanservice.
And why should you wait for kh3. There are ac and dc.

The nature of ff7 is open ending, in the sense we don't see what happen to the party after the meteor vs holy sequence. Instead we get the fast forward to 500 or so years ahead. Unlike ff8,9, 10 which show canon couple. But we could make conclusion base on the fact that cloud love tifa. And I don't think cloud feeling comparable to sakura, because let's face it tifa doesn't has ill feeling to cloud like sasuke.
They live in one roof.
