Time does in fact do wonders for this sort of thing. A lot of people felt that way about Clerith VS cloti, but the more time that passed, the more many of them saw that the narrative did in fact lead towards Cloti. Of course there were and are still those that persist, but they've grown less as the years have passed. 

 

But in Clerith's case, they showed Aerith's relationship with Zack in Crisis Core, which was about over a decade after FFVII was released. Aerith had much more chemistry with Zack than she did with Cloud, and considering she as killed off in the first half of the game, it seemed a bit redundant to argue Aerith vs Tifa.

 

The other thing was that SE basically made Cloud into nothing but an emo shell of a man. He quickly became less popular and I would guess even some of the clerith fans were sick of it. Zack, on the other hand, was a ray of sunshine.

 

 

Hmm that isnt a very good example tbh.

The way I see it, Aerith was Cloud's true love but he ended up moving on because... you know what happened :(. A good example would be Titanic, Jack was Rose's true love but she ended up moving on and meeting someone else etc..
 

Besides Aerith is a favorite of Nomura, to the point where he stated that she wont be hurt or harmed in any other FF or spinoff game.

 

In NS vs NH it is very different because there was never a reason for Naruto to move on - now they wish because this movie makes it even worse, now it's a retcon instead of moving on - to begin with. It was just forced

 

No, Cloud's childhood crush was Tifa, he simply forgot about it and most of his other memories because he thought he was Zack for about half of the game. They had the whole cliched childhood promise and everything.

Guys i have a question is tv tropes bias? Some would argue yeah they are because  anyone can edit stuff but from what i read in the naruto section especially in the "audience reaction" tab they STILL label nh as a fan preferred pair even if its canon now.  Im confused can anyone shead some light?

 

You mean are they biased? Well, yes. Like every other fansite. The website's goal isn't to present information in a neutral, objective way. From what I've heard, there are a group of NH fans who always patrol the site. Hinata was listed as a satellite character, either for Neji or Naruto, but they always change it to Tenten.

Digimon's a damn better anime than this kitten. Even though Sora didn't end up with Tai at least it wasn't rubbed in our faces like with Naruto/Sakura.
How they're treating Naruto Sakura their relationship and its fans right now is so disrespectful. I've never met a more intolerant fanbase than Naruto. It definitely makes it into the top worst fandoms.
Also--this movie sucks.

Can't more agree with that.
Even with all of its flaw, bleach has better character, characterization, and character interaction than naruto.

speaking off bleach, going off topic for a bit. somebody wants the series final fight to be a rematch between Ichigo and Aizen simply because that's how the pre-time skip ended and that's how this ends too, and honestly Idk if I'm okay with that.

It's not. The worst we get is Orihime's major crush on Ichigo but she's not a stalker like Hinata. They actually interact and she's part of the main cast.
Off topic but hell yes--I do hope Aizen comes back as the final villain. XD Yhwach's cool but nothing beats the original baddie.
I hope Kubo and Kikitten aren't friends.

Bleach has less romance, and the only potential relationship like SasuSaku was Hinamori and Aizen. Luckily, she matured and got over it in time. Also helps that Aizen is a villain straight up.

Wrong, Sasuke got A girl, we all know his girl was Karin, Technically only Shikamaru got THE Girl, none of the other guys got the girl, they just got a girl.

Well it's not that hard, even if you only knew the story through a friend who heard it from a friend who heard it from their neighbour who heard it from the postman who heard it from his wife who heard it from her hairdresser...they'd be able to pick up the Retcon, it's done so badly that  those who still believe this is Hinata still stuck in her Genjutsu dream wouldn't even have a hard time convincing anyone they have a valid point.

Funny you should say that, I remember a few years back some Naruto fans were convinced that Kubo was the one who had taught Kishi how to troll his fans, this was specially the case after the Pain arc.

Aerith did not know the real Cloud until she was dead.
Tifa is the only one who actually knew him. You can't be someone's true love without knowing them.
Plus what she was attracted to was the Zack/puppet Cloud Chimera he became due to Jenova. 

Its beyond evident in the Life stream that Cloud is who he is because of Tifa. She's literally his Sakura but done right, and done well. In other words; Childhood love story gone right. 

She won't be hurt or harmed in any spinoff? (She's dead...isn't that harm enough?) I'm not sure what that has to do with anything...she can be his favorite, but it doesn't make the case that she was Cloud's true love...

Well she is among his favorites because he said so himself.

Why do you think that Cloud and Aerith reunite at the end of Kingdom hearts? Or why Cloud expresses that he wants to meet someone while holding his crystal which is Aerith's Holy Materia, also in the ending cinematic he appears at a familiar flower field.
Aerith also Appearing as a support character in Dissidia 2 and no matter what you do, you cant harm her.
Also in the Ultimania she is listed as Koibito "sweetheart" on her relationship with Cloud. And what about the movie? The whole thing is about Cloud's depression because of Aerith and Tifa appears to be really worked up about it because Cloud is missing and hanging out at Aerith's old place. She even tells her "what's it gonna be, us or our memories? Heck even at the end of the movie credits Cloud goes to meet Aerith at the flower field.

I mean if she wasnt his true love then I dont see what would be the point of all of this stuff I just mentioned, and It is definitely not for marketing reasons since Tifa seems to be most popular and well known among people. That's why I used titanic as an example.

 

I am a pretty avid FF fan so I am kinda geeky about these things, hehehe
