Naruto wasn't powerful in the Chunin Exams either, Salad probably takes after her father more than Sakura while Bolt seems to take after his father much more than his mother. Salad is probably stronger than Bolt TBH, but Lee's kid should be the strongest.
Female spawn superior to the male spawn? I doubt that. Judging by the attire and her decision to wear gloves, I'm inclined to believe that her close quarters approach is similar to Part 1 Sakura's - i.e. she runs up in a linear and predictable manner to pummel you in the face while being easily repelled by anything equally as or less simplistic than a jump kick. Chunin Exams Naruto certainly wasn't the defining example of strength or grace, but he wasn't at the bottom rung like Sakura.
This is Kishi whom we're referring to. He wouldn't allow for his male protagonist to be outshone by the likes of the female spawn. Even against Kaguya, the supposed god of chakra, he performed remarkably well against compared to Sasuke when they're supposed to be cooperating as equal partners/combatants.
