I've never hosted a party... I'm really anti-social offline. Though I have been to a few parties, but never danced really... just chatted a bit.

I told my family I wasn't going ot midnight mass this year. I don't careif their catholic, I converted over 6 years ago. I plan to sleep rather than be dragged to mass and get yelled at for falling asleep when you can hear my father snoring. f*** that.

Have you tried the 'useless' technique? Basically, you prove yourself to be totally USELESS with kids. This results in no more 'Look after <name> for me!' situations.

I got in trouble cause I tied my brother up with a scarf one day when I was left to "watch" him.

Okay. I have one final easy option: Develop an unhealthy interest in sharp objects, and always carry several with you indoors. Result = Parent doesn't want kid anywhere near potential psychopath
