I have no problem with us living on in fanon, but this ending seriously is so bad that is going to bother me for a LONG time. I don't think I'll be able to fully enjoy NS stuff until I'm over this. It feels like my entire interpretation of the manga was wrong, that's how bad it is (and I'm not just referring to pairings either).

So Villian for Part 3 Confirmed? Karin is out for revenge, sacrificing so much for one person, only to get nothing and worst have the child of her rival steal her look. It would be one of the few times I'd be rooting for the bad guy.

LOL at this manga. You get DOZENS of hints that this friendship pairing would eventually grow into romance, and at the last second pairings with hardly any development are asspulled! How was a person supposed to guess that Sasuke secretly liked Sakura after all this time?

 

There was even a fanbook where a person asked, "Do you like Sakura? Or at least notice her?" with Sasuke responding "I think of Sakura as a valuable comrade. She has helped me many times."

I recommend Beelzebub. No definite pairings but still good.

If I can say one good thing about the ending, it's that Salad is actually really adorable. I like that Kishi didn't give Sasuke a boy, and that he didn't give him multiple kids. Also, I will admit Sakura and Sasuke are legit the hottest couple. Some serious MILF and DILF kitten going on there haha

Oda has repeatedly stressed One Piece would not have romance, and that romance was better suited for girl-focused comics.

 

Which probably explains why everyone's attractions to others, save Luffy and Nami, are played for laughs, and even then, Luffy/Nami is mostly played for laughs as well.
