I meant near the last few chapters of the manga. And I suspect Kishimoto doesn't have a set deadline, even in his interviews he says the series will probably take longer to finish than he anticipated.

 

It would not be too surprising to see Kishi end the manga at exactly the chapter 666 as an homage to his brother's manga. The story and subplots of the individual characters do appear to be resolving themselves. There should not be that much left to finish although 34 chapters may not be quite enough for the manga to conclude itself. This battle against Jubi, Madara, and Tobi alone will likely continue for another 10-18 chapters. If you consider a possible intermission between that battle and the final arc which should be centred around contending with Sasuke then the manga may go on until chapter 680 or longer. Oh, and we cannot forget about Orochimaru as he is still lurking about.

Personally, I believe that Kishimoto will have finished with everything by the spring or summer of 2014.

I find it strange this theory keeps on popping up everywhere. Am I the only one who thinks there is no point for another Karin in this story?

You know, I was thinking the same. Why have Karin there to begin with. Why an Uzumaki trait, especially when the best time to make a use of her name is when the Hokages were brought back to life. It's as if to say, "She's there to negate Uchiha's mental illness." I'm not kidding, that's how I see it so far, because they're Senju related. But who knows.

As for Sakura, well she's similar to Karin, but Karin is more aggressive and will come at you, if you're not protected. Sakura is more of a cheerleader, only shouting his name from afar. Only get near when Sasuke is in danger, which is the same for Karin or anyone else for that matter. The point is she's not fit to bet that character anymore. Maybe one more time but her character was a faulty one to begin with, as well as not her true self.

Actually, is it best for them to be alone all the way, or be alone until after it's done, Team 7 will be there just looking and perhaps just smile.

Well, I'm not very good at estimating how long a series will run, but I don't think the final arc will be Sasuke and Naruto campaigning for Hokage. I expect him to be set on a darker path before Naruto can save him.

Honestly, the anime team is extremely biased with NaruSaku and they tend to add more scenes to the canon, including the episode when Naruto woke up from KN4. That episode alone was NS galore, with Naruto grabbing Sakura, Sakura constant worrying, both of them trying to reach to their hands which Naruto missed, Sakura blushed before going tsun tsun, and Naruto's shocking face for hurting Sakura in a cliffhanger no less. They're biased and it shows. They're pretty much rooting for this pairing. It's oddly normal for anime studio to do this. Others like Fairy Tail and Bleach did it, so this isn't new.

I know you're trying to say that the anime also promotes narusaku fanservice, but that wasn't exactly my point. It's just a pet peeve of mine to see the anime team add fanservice as much as changing any significant canon scene. That includes giving Karin (and Hinata) medical ninjutsu. It made no sense why Sasuke had to bite her.

Me too, but i think he already finished it up when he stated that from here and now things will get even more dramatics towards the end of the manga.

Do you want them to be alone when they talk to each other and make up all the way to the end, or do you mind if after the love stuff happens, they find out that they weren't alone as Team 7 or perhaps K9 saw them and make fun of them, embarrassing Naruto and Sakura?

Oh that. Yeah, Karin can heal with a bite but healing palm? Not so sure. Hinata, yeah, she was treated as create-a-character character in anime/games.

Karin's fangirlism is pretty much an exaggeration of Sakura or Ino, if you ask me. Just like the other members of her team, they all resemble Team 7 in subtle and not-subtle ways. They served their purpose to remind Sasuke he once had similar bonds with similar people.

I know it wasn't filler, I was referring to her heritage. I meant I've always considered Karin's ancestry as pretty much filler, considering Kishimoto supposedly didn't want to give them backstories. I'm sure the interview I read didn't mention Kisane at all, but I'll have to find it first.

Oh, now I see what you mean. Whenever I think about a confession scene/a romantic moment between Naruto and Sakura, I always think that some humor will be connected with it. I think that something will happen along the lines of Naruto and Sakura finally admit their feelings for one another and have a serious romantic moment and then afterwards everyone comes in and joke with them, causing them to be embarrassed. (However, I also think that they will approve of their relationship and after the joking moment show similar expressions as to when they witnessed the hug... or something along those lines)

It appears that Kishi's editors and publishers hold quite a bit of weight in the decision process of what the manga should focus on or what characters/events should be provided with additional development effort. Now it would be interesting to learn how precisely these people have influenced Kishi's writing throughout the manga.

Well hindsight is 20/20, so it makes sense that he would want to revise some material. Didn't he say that he wanted to redo Sakura's confession to Naruto as well?

Well giving those characters some back story doesn't seem like a huge decision. Remember, he said that the main points of the story/the ending were already set in stone and he just needed to figure out how to get there. So he probably fired those editors because they wanted to change major things like the ending/Tobi's identity/the final pairing. But we'll probably never know.

He has fired about 5 times from what I heard. The problem is that Kishi knows his main plot point, but don't know how to get to it such as fighting, which is why at some points seem to drag on. He also said that he has a habit of filling every holes he left, which again leaves him dragging on. He said these in the latest or 2nd latest interview. Funny how he didn't think it was cool to have digital Shounen jump magazine in USA. He didn't advertise it much like how people tends to use authors to do it.

I don't think it is to unbelievable for a lip kiss to happen in Naruto. Compared to most shounen it seems to have a bigger focus on romance more then others, and considering romance in this story has been in this manga from as early as chapter three.

 

Also Naruto kissed Sasuke on the lips   though it was for comedy a kiss is a kiss, so Naruto kissing Sakura is very possible, though if he does do it then it will be towards the end of the manga imo.

I'm not sure if we'll get a forehead kiss, since this happened with Tsunade and Dan... but then again Naruto said that he wants to kiss Sakura's forehead, so I don't know...

I want both kinds of kissed: on forehead and on the lips.
