I'd prefer to look at it your way but the problem is that the person that's being addressed the one the stranger is referring to evidently makes her depressed, granted its not a pro SS moment but it doesn't seem to be doing NS any favors either since I would expect that since Kishi said she was being honest about her feelings with Naruto, he would atleast pop up or have some implication that Sasuke was someone she used to love as opposed to someone she's ashamed to love.

Besides if in the beginning when she was all happy when she said that she already had someone else and it was shown that that person is Naruto then that would have been game set and match for the paring wars , that is way this part is left vague by Kishi and is also why i expect a callback to this part latter . So until we have more proof i will stay with this opinion :)))

And she was yelling at him because she was worried/afraid about him getting hurt or even worse killed Sasuke didn't even crossed her mind in that moment i don't know about you but that speaks volumes to me about who she really cares and loves but that just me . Also she chose Naruto's dream over Sasuke's in the chunin exams this i'm sure you know of it .

 

And that is the reason why i don't read MS anymore their translation are more then often wrong and biased as hell i prefer MP ones over MS even if MS scans are better . Well first of all Naruto didn't give her hope of T7 being together again but hope that every member of it can find happiness in the end , those are two different things . Also her being happy at first yeah it could be because of that hope but i seriously doubt that because from the moment Sasuke appeared in the battlefield she's been doing nothing but being wary of him and not trusting him so were is that hope if that was the case ? But still 540 doesn't ruin NS for me in any way and like i said i'm waiting for Kishi to do a callback to this scene as well as some other NS scenes hope it happens .

The quality is too low to properly see the kanji on the panel you asked, but I think you must have made a mistake. The top right panel is not important, since the guy is only saying that asking her about the person she likes would be rude. If you meant to ask the top left panel, he's saying "The person you like... Must surely be a good person."

No, he doesn't say something like "the only person" or whatever. But to me, this scene is simple, she was thinking about Sasuke as the person she's already in love with, but when the guy say "he must be a great person" she's starting to doubt about her feelings or about Sasuke himself, because she knows that after all the things he did, he's not a good person.

The problem is that there's a big difference at how Naruto reacted with Konohamaru as opposed to Minato. With Konohamaru it was as obvious as a brick to the face that Naruto was lying about Sakura being his girlfriend. That silly face he made with Konohamaru gave it away. With Minato, on the other hand, Naruto talks straight and with no doubt in him. At no point did I get the impression that Naruto was just hopeful about his answer, I saw it as him stating a fact.

 

I'm not denying the situation with Sakura's feelings for Sasuke, which is why this scene feels too odd. If Naruto had made a happy face to Minato like he did with Konohamaru I would've been inclined to conclude that Naruto was just being his usual hopeful self with Sakura, but it didn't happen that way, which is why I'm a little confused about it.

 

And after what happened during the Summit arc I don't get how Naruto can say stuff like that if it's not true.

You know, even I think the same, when I read this chapter. Even I can't help but think something off-panel has happened between Naruto and Sakura. A similar incident happened with me. And based on that I can tell how things went. Back in part 1, when Konohamaru questioned Naruto whether Sakura was his girlfriend, he had a 'simple' crush on her and even Sakura admired/liked/fangirled Sasuke. Naruto was not at all serious about her then UNTIL his battle with Shukaku(Gaara). So, I think back in part 1 when Naruto clearly said that Sakura was his girlfriend, he said it to make him appear 'cool' to Konohamaru and Sakura denied it obviously because she liked Sasuke and even Naruto was aware of it and he wasn't serious about her then as I said before, until his fight with Shukaku. Now, 631, here when Naruto replied 'That's more or less it' with a serious face, it straight on meant that he loved Sakura(as always) and even Sakura loved Naruto, BUT things were unofficial back then, I mean Naruto/Sakura had not confessed to Sakura/Naruto to make things official. To me it seemed like Sakura was now aware of her feelings for Naruto, and even Naruto was aware of it and since things were unofficial he replied 'That's more or less it'. Now, since we all know Sakura's behaviour, it came to her when she was fully focused on healing him, and it came so suddenly that she become tsundere over it and hit him meaning 'We have time to clarify things later, first concentrate here'. And she could not deny it because she KNEW she loved Naruto. Now, connect these things to confession part, when Sakura said she was over Sasuke. Ofcourse she had lingering feelings for him then, but when Sasuke tried to kill her, it was over for her. When she confessed to Naruto, the confession was true that she loved him and all, but at the same time she still thought she had feelings for Sasuke, inspite that they were lingering feelings and not real love. And she refused to believe this and that's why Kishi called her stubborn as in refusing to believe that they're nothing but lingering feelings for Sasuke and at the same time being honest because she had realised that time that she loved Naruto and said things which were true. And to sum it up, when Sasuke tried to kill her and Naruto saved her, at that moment the feelings were 'more or less'(now you know the meaning) reduced to minimal BUT still present like 1% which is why she remembered Sasuke when that nin said 'Whoever you love is bound to be great' meaning Sasuke wasn't great inspite she loved him, but whether she remembered Naruto when she said 'She already loved someone else' was not shown because that would mean an end to pairing wars. Now, if things are the way I've said, that really do explain the 'That's more or less it' part and then we all know why she only thought of Naruto throughout the war and not Sasuke. That's because, according to this theory I stated above, she is now aware of her feelings and obviously Kishi did not show this for obvious reasons. So, if this theory is true what remains is to make things official which runs parallel with the fact that Kishi is going to resolve that at the end.

He sets the confession up for shock value then sets it up like its a lie, then says himself that its true then has stuff like Sai's explanation, chapter 483 and 540 to make it more confusing.

There's two interpretations, this you said about and the second because Naruto didnt wanted to hear Sakura's answer because the situation is in a way similar to the kumo ninjas when they attacked Sakura and she was about to answer what Sasuke was to her, Naruto cut her off and on this scene Naruto did it again, he didnt wanted to listen to Sakura's answer so he said that she was more or less his girlfriend.
That's what i think, it's a drama moment where it makes the audience to guess what could be her answer but i believe she would likely say no, because Tsunderes always deny.

"Fallacy" You keep using that word but i don't think this means what you think it means.

He's saying that she lied on the confession because quickly after that Sakura shows that she loves Sasuke and those are strong feelings, she does that on the summit twice, and even when Sakura was healing Karin she says that "she also must love him too" and even when she was about to kill Sasuke it show her feelings for him.
Pepsi's statement is valid.

About the author saying she was honest and stubborn, it can mean anything, it can be describing her behavior or even her expression and even if we take it as a face value like you do and tell that we are in denial because of Kishi's words, it's pretty much a lie when she said she didnt loved Sasuke anymore.

Also about your statement on 540 and 635, i wish you could elaborate how she not trusting Sasuke means that she doesnt loves him anymore, unless if you're implying that Kishi should have destroyed Sakura's character like he did with Karin.

The problem is that people take Sai's words seriously, if you revisit the chapter he says "i think", "i guess" and so on and forth, he doesnt say the things to Naruto like he knows what she's up to or the reasons behind her actions, Sai was simply guessing and it was used as a device to strenghten the idea that Sakura only loves Sasuke on Naruto's mind, and to prevent Naruto from realizing she was doing all that for him.
