Make it a "Gimple" and a "Kishi." One is where a character is assassinated just as they were going somewhere, and the other is destroying an entire work

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I think if Seishi (Kishi's twin brother) wrote Naruto then I feel like it would've been better especially when it came to the ending. 

 

Well you see, Kishi said Sasuke and Naruto were based on himself and his twin, we always thought Naruto was Masashi and Sasuke was the brother, but it turns out it was the opposite, Kishi got lucky, got all the success and the praise, and the twin was Naruto, worked hard, kept his story true to his vision, but in the end still came out second best, and got accused of copying his brother. (like Naruto only going after Sakura because she liked Sasuke)

This is the latest footage on The Last Naruto the movie played after today’s Hyuga filler episode.

As usual translations are in Italics, everything else is personal comments. Btw I just took a look at tumblr tags and I can’t believe multiple people have already blogged my video before I even finished translating it. Well for those who were wondering what the video is talking about here you go!

※Moteki sounds like Ste-ki ‘Steak’ in Japanese so Chouji getting confused is a pun.

A word from Kishimoto-sensei himself:

脚本家の方に”うるさいやつだなぁ”と思われたかもしれない
結構こまめにチェックして脚本のけっこうな直しもあったと思うんで
大変だったと思うんですけどその分いいものができたと思ってるんで

The scriptwriter probably thought I was an annoying person.
Because I checked the details carefully and I think I made them rewrite the script quite a bit.
I think it must’ve have been hard but because of it I think we made something good in the end.

※Note that I’m translating what he said not the text on the TV
(it’s slightly different! putting my disclaimer in first just in case anyone accuses me of mistranslation!)

Mini Rant:
Just adding in my 2 cents. Kishi-sensei ALWAYS talks like this. As in I think～ this I think～ that.
When I saw him at JUMP Festa last year he also talked like this.
Which is why I have said before that he comes off as indecisive and easily persuaded by others.
He never firmly says his words. I mean just the example above. He said “I think” 5 times in that comment alone.
You either made them rewrite the script or not, you don’t say I think I did like you can’t even remember if you wrote it or someone else wrote it or not!

Kakashi and the 5 Kages are discussing armageddon on Naruto earth and what to do about it with fancy hologram technology lol.
Same plot! Worse movie.

By the way where did all this technology come from in just 2 years after the war? I seem to remember Naruto and them writing on scrolls with ink brushes!
The GDP growth of Konoha must be higher than China or India!

Scarf rips. The infamous Scarf I have heard so much about! The Scarf that has more screen time than Sasuke!
The Scarf that is dropped and rips multiple times in the movie but still miraculously manages to find it’s way back to the owner!

Mini Rant:
Can I just say I know it’s been 2 years since the war but with the way she is depicted here Hinata seems like the most pathetic ninja ever!
She is falling and the only thing she can do is hold on to that damn scarf?? What happened to molding chakra on your feet?
Genin 101 Walking on water and walking up trees!

Why is she falling headfirst here to oh-so-conveniently allow Naruto to princess-save her!
She didn’t even fight a major battle with Toneri beforehand so you can’t use chakra exhaustion as an excuse.
At this rate those academy fangirls might be better ninjas than Hinata! I am so disappointed with how they are portraying her in this movie!

And Toneri! Absolute pairing fodder. You don’t just suddenly decide you love some girl and come to take her away. Toneri is oh-so conveniently handsome enough too to function as a rival love-antagonist character for Naruto. And it just so happens when he’s trying to snatch her away (Hinata are you even trying to get away??)
Naruto just so happens to pass by the park! Especially when he didn’t seem to care about her when they were eating ramen with team 10, Sakura, and the fangirls like here!

Sakura had to MAKE you walk Hinata home and even then you said なんで？ヒナタ強いでしょう？ “Why? Hinata’s strong right?”. Well about that … She’s not that strong in this movie because we need YOU to save her!

I came home just when Kishimoto-sensei was talking about drawing Sakura and Hinata
so couldn’t record fast enough hence it’s not in the video but I’ll translate what I heard as well.
(I think I saw scans floating around about this part anyway)

サクラは線が細かくてシャープで綺麗なお姉さんの感じ

I need to clarify this but 綺麗なお姉さん ‘Kirei na oneesan’ DOES NOT mean pretty sister of Naruto！
お姉さん ‘Oneesan’ means sister yes. But it is also used to mean a pretty lady which is what it means here in context.
This is why when guys hit on girls they say for example よっ！おねえちゃんよ～*ほにゃらら*！ “Hey pretty lady! Wanna *insert stuff* with me?”
They aren’t hitting on their sister! Gross!
This is actually very basic Japanese. I can’t believe some of the mistranslations used as facts going on in the fandom!

So anyway the point here is Kishi-sensei said he drew Sakura with more defined lines to make her look like a pretty lady.
And that he also wanted to make Hinata look more feminine as well.
