You know on MH some people do bring up a good point, Why the hell would Rindou agree to this regime? She is the complete opposite of what the new system would look for. she doesn't conform to the standards, she does her own thing, she bullies the other members about, likes a variety of different foods. If you think about anyone from the elite 10 that would have an issue with this new regime it would be her...heck she didn't even bother having a stand like the other elite ten, instead decided to just chill. The other five make more sense now that you look at them, Rindou makes little sense at all.

 

Her words to Souma make even less sense now. Why would she think Souma the one who improvises on the spot, makes his dishes taking inspiration from multiple chefs and styles, likes to put his own spin to his cooking, be someone who would want the change?

 

Is she really just someone who enjoys chaos that much? Last weeks colour page called her the innocent monster with an insatiable curiousity, the very thing the new system sounds like it's trying to stamp out.. You are not allowed to be curious just follow.

I think chaos is definitely her intention. What she really wants out of this is to see the students rise up against the top students and bring out their hidden potential that Isshiki has always complained about. Azami's tyrannical ways would definitely give them a reason to fight for what they stand for.

my thoughts

Ugh this chapter was slow. and shock factor at the end which actually was not all that shocking. that and as others have pointed out doesn't PSD have enough money and resources to be OUTSIDE of the Academy's influence? And if this goes through where will Erina stay, well besides with her kittening father? Speaking of Erina there was no character progression with her this week. BOO. and no ship tease with Soma this week. Need ship tease between those two they are so obvious. (well then again we have all learned last year obvious is not guarantee. See what you did to us you hypocrite?)

So this is worst than I thought, this basically is becoming a dictatorship, the elites are the only ones who can discover new dishes meaning everyone else become pawns and any creativity they might posses gets oppressed. And with the way the system works the only ones who will be picked as elites will be those hand picked by Azami. So basically  more puppets that will run to his tune.

 

The only way I can see them over turning the regime is literally challenging the Elite ten at the same time and winning. It would have to e done swiftly and accurately.

 

I get a bad feeling about Megumi after this chapter, her fanboys could be in for some bitter dissapointment about her charactor. I can see her turning heel. The old system was brutal for someone as meek as her, and a system like this would be to her advantage and she could betray her friends and become part of the elites through this training, she has skill and she can follow orders as she proven by following the lead. We could see her as the ideal puppet for someone like her. Plus she could be all for the old system becoming extinct as she suffered so much because of it.

 

I don't think the old system will see the return, whenever the evil overlord is overthrown I think the new regime will be a mix of the old and new, one where creativity is allowed but also the teachings of the elite ten is also mre readily available, mybe eve the expulsion system could stay scrapped. This is what I think the mangaka is trying to show, that the new system has it's benifits and the old system has it's benifits, butboth systems are also wrong and could do with change.
