I think it's partly the confession but also the hospital scene.

 

So, after the scene where Naruto tries to bring back Sasuke, Naruto is in the hospital. That's when Sakura comes in and says next time it will be us together. I think that is what she is referring to when she says 'Not just me this time.' Because before it was their mission, just the two of them, to bring back Sasuke.

 

And then we have the confession where Naruto says he is going to get Sasuke regardless of his promise to Sakura. Which I think relates to the, 'No matter what you say,' line.

 

So I think basically Sakura is saying that even if Naruto wants to save his friends by fighting alone he doesn't have that option. Because she is going to help, but not just her, everyone is going to help him this time.

 

As far as it being of romantic content... I don't think so. I would like it to be though. If anything, I think its another wonderful example of Sakura's unquestionable support of Naruto.

That scene and her words has nothing to do with Naruto's efforts to bring Sasuke back alone , Sakura here is speaking about Naruto trying to do everything alone in general protect  his/their friends,the village and now the world since that's what Nartuo has been doing this whole time , the hospital scene and bringing Sasuke back is in no way a reference to the "Not just me this time" part  imo , also  when she said that Naruto was already fighting Obito to protect the world he wasn't trying to bring Sasuke back that wasn't his/their mission  . The "no matter what you say" part also doesn't have any relation to the what he said to her in the confession since Naruto didn't say to her that he wants her out of that in fact it will contradict what he said in the hospital scene that her being/helping him on bringing Sasuke back makes him happy . All in all her words aren't about him trying or doing everything to save Sasuke alone it was about Naruto in general doing everything on his own to protect everyone and that that is a burden to him and she's not gonna stand by and watch him do that that anymore keep  hurting himself this time she's gonna be there for him and that she's not gonna be alone in this . I think her words relates more to the pain arc imo .

I used to think that but not anymore. It's more of a level of strength that's really being dealt with, not love. That's the thing, if a character who is confirmed in love says it, it's always romance above all. However, if the same thing happens, only not love, it's up for debate, if not just friends. I find that a bit unfair because the context needs to be justified or straightforward as much as 631. As time goes by, love is not focused anymore or rather never has been.

Sorry, I guess I should clarify a bit. I completely agree that the current scene has nothing to do with Sasuke's 'rescue'.

 

I just meant to use those as examples of how in the past Naruto tried to take on tasks all on his own. The hospital scene, to me, seems to be the first time that Naruto and Sakura really decide to team up and work towards a common goal together. Not just because they are both on team seven but because they trust each other and want to support one another.

 

And I used the confession scene as an example of when Naruto decided to still work hard on his own even without the support of his other team members and even the other Konoha 11.

 

I'm sure there are examples of other times accurances like this has come up. But these two are the ones that stick out most to me.

I was trying to point out that I don't think it's romantic, or a hint towards NS, but just a result of Sakura's support for Naruto considering their past. I guess I used poor examples though.

The way things are progressing I doubt Sakura will have a big involvement when it comes to Naruto vs Sasuke. No offense to her character, but she'd be fodder to interfere with their fight, as much I want her to be involved in it.

And when there is the final interacted between Naruto and Sasuke, I agree with you. Sakura needs to sit that one out. Especially since Naruto asked her to, after the fight at hospital with Sasuke.

It's not just about the lacking in power it's also about the fact that she doesn't affect Sasuke in any way so why should she be in that fight ? She can be involved in protecting Naruto from others trying to interfere in that fight like Team Taka and in the end she healing Naruto that's the way i see this whole fiasco being played out .

As much as there are people who likes her character she's no way close to Ashura and Indra powerlevel.

And i think Kishi puts Sakura on the romance subplot and is only going to develop her on this direction from now on.

As much as i hate to say this, Sakura is no match for Taka, i know "hur BYAKUGOU SEAL", i understand but it didnt added much to her abilities in other words give her more options on a fight, she increased her raw strenght but hasnt got any new jutsus that would give her new tactics and more options in a fight.

Also Taka got powerups, Karin + Suigetsu taker her down easily on my opinion.

 

Also her supportive abilities were more emphasized than her offensive ones.

Ah, phew. I'm finally making sense!

 

I just don't want to pin everything on a romantic conotation. Besides the growing feelings that Sakura has, they do have a great friendship as a foundation. Sakura could want to support and protect Naruto for other reasons other than she likes him. And in a war setting I think wanting to support Naruto would come from the idea that he is their best chance for a better future. But this is just my opinion.

Ah, I see. Thanks for clearing that up. And I agree, When it comes to Sasuke, Sakura will need to let these 'brothers' work it out. It'll be fun to see how she reacts to the fight. I think it will be a great indicator of where her feelings stand if it's not already cleared up by then.

Because it seemed to be making a pretty bold jump in terms of the pairing wars. (we've never seen Sakura give something as big as a teary embrace to Naruto before and the look of Kakashi feeling awkward in the sidelines means it wasn't simply a....platonic teary embrace or something of that nature)

There is one thing from the recent chapter I think needs more expanding,

 

what exactly did Hagomoro mean by when he said, when the chakra mixes a new fruit will appear.

 

What I mean is, what chakra exactly is he referring to for the chakra fruit to appear? Does Madara need to start the genjutsu to make it appear or is it just as what Obito was about to do when he was the jinchurki, saying that the jutsu would start in 15 minutes when he was the one in command.

I wouldn't, simply because how can something be a threat when it is something we already know? Hinata has been saying how much she loves Naruto or how bad she wants to be with him or stuff like that for a long time. Ever since her reveal in the manga that's pretty much all she ever thinks about.

573 from Hinata is basically just restating what we already know and we already accept this fact. So it is just restating the obvious and not really add anything "new" to the table that was already laid out.

 

From beginning we already knew Hinata loved Naruto. We also knew that Naruto loved Sakura, Sakura loved Sasuke, and Sasuke loved noone. Now hearing Hinata preach over and over is not making the pairing canon because it is only have half the equation. What is interesting is seeing Sakura's viewpoint of the matter and who she would side with. She decided to side with Naruto despite knowing the fight between him and Sasuke and all that has happened already. She makes the claim that no matter what, she will be together with Naruto. This is new info and goes against everyone who claimed that Sakura would abandon Naruto for Sasuke ina  heartbeat.

When 615 came out, Hinata got what she wanted, but it didn't make NH canon. Then 631 came out and Naruto tells his father that he sees Sakura as his girlfriend more or less. To me, that proved Naruto still has feelings for Sakura. People claim it as "a joke" and shouldn't be taken seriously, but I think of it this way. If it was meant to be nothing, why did Kishimoto write it in in the first place? Even Hinata's scenes have a purpose even if the pairing goes nowhere and never becomes canon.

And actually she didn't say "I'll be by your side forever." She said "I've always been the one chasing you, but once this war ends I am going to stop once and for all. Next time, I'll be next to you, holding your hand...walking with you." Which is exactly what she got in 615. She never said anything about being his lover or marrying him. She literally got what she asked for. Now people say she is being vague, but the vagueness could also be the reason why she doesn't win Naruto over.

 

It just that it makes me feel odd because it's like a clan and when you're there, you must do what they do. Or more like a union in work area. If they go on the strike, you must. Now, it feels like if I don't react, I'm not a real fan.

 

It is always a struggle between what defines a real fan from a wannabe. Maybe there is no clear cut. It's like saying "I don't support Obama, so I must not be a true American." Which is weird.

To me a real fan is one who will always be a fan no matter what. Not blind faith, but rather unwavering faith. A real fan, in my opinion, is one that stands their ground despite all the slings and arrows of hatred and insult thrown at them. I respect and honor even the NH fans that stand as such, but still retain knowing the truth. It is knowing the truth, accepting the truth, and yet still not bending to it.

We throw words like "biased," "stupid," or "misguided," but really what if a person is just passionate about what they believe? It's hard to break something like that and it wrong to even try to. If a NH fan loves NH because they enjoy it, then so be it. As long as they accept the facts as they are and don't ignore it for the sake of that faith, I'll be happy to respect them.

Hell, I am still a YukiXTohru pairing fan and yet that never happens in Fruits Basket.

I think that is what really defines what a real fan is and that the people who are easily wavered by stupid things like the anime opening or an bad pairing fan giving off false conference or some kind of psychological doubt that they give in to perhaps need to really sit down and think why they became a fan in the first place. Doubt can happen, but a real fan will overcome it.

615 came and this site light up like the fourth of July. We took a rocket hit that week and I am not ashamed to admit it, but me, 4life, and a few other members stayed on the ship telling ourselves "We are still floating. We're damaged, but we ain't sunk yet." Some decided to jump overboard and tried to swim for land. Those who stayed our faith was rewarded and we got a massive missile barrage against both NH and SS in a matter of 50 chapters.

 

Those who jumped are trying to get back on board, meanwhile, me and 4life are clinking our glasses together enjoying the fireworks on our lawn chairs thinking "I am so glad we decided to stay dry."

Hell, my whole purpose of the podcast was to try and renew faith in the NS community every week. Bring a little hope back in form of listening to real NS fans who never waver in their faith and will go down with the ship if need to.
