emperors have way more hype than doffy has ever gotten. they rule the new world. the way oda has been hyping them up we are suppose to be afraid of them, and rightfully i am! i expect them to be top tiers. sure i may have underrated doffy because of what luffy has been doing to him, but i still think the gap is huge between the emperors and doffy/luffy. 
 
amen on that last part. i already can't stand sabo, so if his excuse doesn't make sense it'll only cement that he's only there to replace ace, a poor replacement at that.

  
That's true, but honestly, I'm more worried about the level of Shanks and Teach as opposed to Kaido, Shanks only because he's the strongest emperor hands down. It makes me wonder though what Luffy is gonna have to do to beat an emperor. He obviously has a lot up his sleeve, his statement that he can beat Doflamingo in one more shot is proof of that, so I know he's got waaaaay more in his arsenal than he's letting on.

I don't mind him, but he better have a damn good reason to not show up. Like he better have been on an undercover operation or something.

One piece fodder are more interesting than Naruto fodder.

Sabo has been shown that he regrets not being there, Koala asks him if him being there would have actually changed anything. Besides im sure the revolutionary army didnt want to get involved and the fact that Sabo is 2nd in command and Ivan was already on the battlefield they probably assumed Luffy would make it out.

He may regret it, but we don't know why he was in a position to regret it to begin with, when he could have been there. It doesn't matter that him being there might not have changed anything, because Luffy went in knowing that same thing. It didn't stop him from trying.

Hey Luffy, apparently the "20 minutes later" thing wasn't a timeskip, but it was showing how the birdcage had been up for 20 minutes. I'm getting confirmation on that at the moment, but there was no timeskip, Doflamingo didn't outlast Luffy, it just looks like the duration of G4 is really, really short. So that makes Luffy look better to me.

No, basically it was mistranslated, there wasn't a timeskip. The bold is correct. The birdcage, at that point in time, had 20 minutes left, so by the time Luffy is ready to roll, there will only be ten minutes left.

Yeah, one of the members, Gowther, that chapter partially, and I'm in a discussion with another member to see if he can link me where Gowther made the comment in one of the other threads. It makes perfect sense though, because if you remember, it isnt the first time Oda had brought up the time left for the birdcage. I think he did it two other times so far, in exactly the same way. I sorta feel dumb now lol

But yeah, that confirms that G4 time is really short. To be honest, I'm not really sure what he should have done. I mean, honestly, it's was probably wiser not to use G4 from the start, just because you want to do as much damage as possible, but at the same time, because of its drawbacks, you have to make sure that you do as much damage as possible before you use it, so that you can beat the enemy once and for all within the duration of G4. There was really no gaurantee that Doflamingo would stay down after using it. It truly is a last resort for that reason. In all honesty, he should have used it later, not sooner.

Whoops, I read the quote wrong. The 20 minutes thing doesn't mean that there's twenty minutes left, the 20 minute thing means that it's it's been 20 minutes since the birdcage started to close initially. There was still no timeskip though. Still waiting on the confirmation.

Yeah, it has nothing to do with the fight between Doflamingo and Luffy. Basically, it was to show that it's been 20 minutes since the birdcage started to shrink.

It's hard to say, I skimmed through the chapters, but there wasn't anything that really gave it away. At the end of 780, the first person noticed that the cage was shrinking. In 781, more of the citizens noticed. With that said, it's safe to say that they noticed the birdcage was shrinking at around the same time Doflamingo confirmed it. So with confirmation from 786, we know that all the events that happened between 781 and 786 happened in 20 minutes. The Luffy vs Doflamingo fight doesn't really start until 782 but gets interrupted because of Trevor and picks up again in 783, and he doesn't go into G4 until 784. I don't think that G4 has a time limit longer than 5 minutes due to how fast paced the next chapters were.

So with everything taken into account, Id have to say that the Luffy vs Doflamingo has gone on maybe around 10-15 minutes (if you subtract the time that Law and Trevor interfered), the last 5 minutes of which were spent in G4 (so Luffy fought in base form from anywhere between 5 and 10 minutes). That's just a rough estimate though. A really rough estimate lol

English translation is 20 minutes have elapsed(instead of 20minutes later like it was translated in the mangastream translation) and i think the elapsed time is from the moment the birdcage started to contract, and not an ellipse during the fight between Doflamingo vs Luffy.

Though i must say that the fight between Doflamingo and gear4 Luffy probably lasted 10minutes within those 20minutes regardless since Luffy can't use his haki for 10minutes after using the mode and it's very likely probably are in relationship with the limited amount of time he can maintain the mode like it was for the gear3 pretimeskip for example(1 minute usage = 1 minute in chibi-mode)

He's probably right about the time of gear 4, btw, so I'll amend my statement in the previous post and say that gear 4 probably lasted ten minutes, and Luffy probably fought Doflamingo in base form for around 5 minutes in 783, and the everything that took place in 781 and 782 took around 5 minutes. All of that equals 20 minutes.
