According to Kishi, NH was always the endgame. NS, including all the Sakura/Kushina parallels, was simply there to mislead us. 

 

The Last is about how Naruto falls in love with Hinata, because it wouldn't be fair not to explain how they ended up together, I mean It's not like he had 15 years and 700 chapters of manga to explain it.

 

Also, The Last will be about Naruto and Sakura parting ways, which means that NS has now gone from being one of the most positive and uplifting pairings to being one of the saddest and most tragic pairings ever.

 

So yeah, another day, another retcon. I'm not buying it and I'll reserve my ultimate judgement for when the movie is actually released in cinemas.

In the end this movie sounds like Sakura and Naruto saying good bye just like Edward and Anne in Assassin's Creed 4:

I would find his words more believable...if he had actually started giving more attention to hinata while giving those parallels. Yep chatte is right. Something is definitely up.

Naruto ending up with Hinata was decided in the very early stages of the story.
Naruto being close to Sakura was a deliberate mislead, thats why the scenes of Sakura being compared to Kushina were introduced.
The Last Movie is not only the story of Naruto falling in love with Hinata, but it is the story of Sakura & Naruto parting ways.
He felt the story of Naruto falling in love with Hinata has to be propely explained, or it wouldnt be fair to the readers. Thats why the Last Movie exists.

Chatte, you still belive in Kishimoto? Because I can belive in NS, but not in him.

I don't have to believe in him to know how his mind works... I cannot say I believe in him, I believe in what he wrote, though... With him, it's sketchy given all these things he's doing, but I do know his mind and how he works, it's reflected in many of his actions, I don't know how to explain and neither I'm a major in psychology to tell you academically, however, you don't need that for understanding people. You just need to be around people and I've been around people all my life to get to read them pretty well and I don't wanna sound a kitten or anything when I say that I've rarely been wrong... What gives me this confidence is the experiences I've been through and the experiences he's been through and describes in the manga... so you see, it's hard to explain how exactly I sniff these things...
