I just saw a picture of all the characters lined up & you can see their height difference. & OMGOMGOMG NARUTO IS THE TALLEST ONE NOW & OMG SAKURA IS THE SHORTEST ONE. I CANT EVEN... I WANNA HUG THEM BOTH.

RTN era consisted of Hinata's and Sasuke's over exaggerated advertisement until Menma's sketches came out (so until the very end). We got 0 shots of NS moments that were in the film.

Was the ship teasing as bad as it is for this movie?

I'll explain to you. 

In fact, when Naruto talks to Sakura in japanese, he doesn't use any pronoun to say "you" he just calls her Sakura-chan when he's adressing directly to her. For example, during the promise of a life time, when we translated it as "Sakura-chan, you really like Sasuke huh." He was in fact saying サクラちゃんはサスケを本当に好きなんだろう。(sorry I don't remember the sentence exactly, but it's just to explain the thing) Well here, he's in fact saying "Sakura really likes Sasuke" but since it would be weird for us to see that while he's directly talking to her, we add a "you", but in japanese he doesn't use any "you" towards Sakura. 

And as another example, there is the recent episode in the anime:　その花を守るサクラちゃんを俺は守る。Litterally, "I'll protect the Sakura-chan who's protecting this flower" But in fact it's "I'll protect you, while you're protecting this flower."

While in that sentence he uses the pronoun お前 "omae" to say you, which is the pronoun he uses for all his peers. So it can't be Sakura.

The more I think about this movie, the less.... I care about it. Also, the more I think about it, I feel like we are making too big of a deal on this than it really should be taken. Even the CD cover and the assistant's tweets, things I was worried about, are really not that big of a deal. The more we learn of the plot of this movie, the more I stop caring about it too...

You are welcome. At the moment both Hinata and Sasuke have been used in merchandising, while Sakura has been hidden for some reason. It really feels like last time.

Can you recap the RTN era in a few short sentences? I would very much appreciate that.

constant speculations that all turned out wrong, overreactions over every little thing relating to hinata and sasuke, the ss and nh fandom going "canon!!!" as they usually do, troll advertising with hinata and sasuke for months on end with the 2 characters supposedly having big involvement in the plot with sasuke flirting with sakura and hinata being with naruto until right before the movie came out and  then wham, sakura and naruto relationship news and revealed scenes right when the movie is about to come out in less than a month, constant hate on kishimoto by the nh and ss fans when what they wanted didn't happen until they made the excuse kishimoto didn't work on the movie, etc. and just like this movie, stuff was revealed little by little, we usually only got sketches, sound familiar?

i see something like this playing out... 

 

if it does at all, honestly, hinata's not a main character or even close to one, so this is little at happening (NH had no standing to begin with besides prolonging sales).

 

my prediction is that she'll get to hold narutos hand and walk besides him to their group of friends.... where naruto then proceeds to let go of her hand and join sakura and the others, confirming hinata and him are just friends and that's all they'll ever be.  *knockonwood*

Well in RtN, it was about AU characters, soooo they weren't really marketing any of the real characters...

 

Well then again they were implicating that AU Sasuke and Hinata would have majore roles in the film, which they didn't. So they clearly were misleading audience to believe...

 

Well then again I never believed we got any pairing teases in the promotions, as I felt a lot of the teasing came from fans' own speculation and expectations. It's one thing to show Sakura fawning over AU Sasuke, it is an other thing to believe that it will make the film pro SS...

 

Well then again, I honestly believe the CD cover is the ONLY piece of advertisement that suggests NH. And what I mean about NH is that I am not including the other promotional stuff that focus on just Hinata, because they are not pairing teases at all. Hinata will seem to have a major role in the film (her sister has been capture after all), so the marketing focusing on her makes sense to me. The CD cover with Naruto and Hinata is the only thing to me that suggests anything pairing related, mostly because it is obvious meant to suggest something romantic. Though taking into consideration the plot of the movie, Hinata's role, and the current of what is going on in the manga...

 

Well then again that teaser trailer with the character sketches also hinted something NS, when the narrator was saying something about Sakura's womanhood and Naruto....

 

Well then again, the manga could end somewhat ambiguous and the movies would continue on with a more NH focus relationship, despite the current situation in the manga...

 

Well then again, there hasn't been any promotion focusing on Sasuke and Sakura. In fact, it doesn't even seem like Sasuke is really part of the Konoho village anymore, with him wearing a poncho and hobo clothes. So there isn't any promos about SS, and Sasuke may not even be in the village anymore, which suggest that SS...

 

Well then again I could be completely off base, and I am just saying things that I don't really have any real knowledge on and claim it to be fact... Just like some fans...

does that matter? that has nothing to do with what I said. the marketing plan is looking the same as how they marketed road to ninja, what does that tell you? basically its a watered down version of the road to ninja marketing strategy but they're waiting until the manga ends to reveal anything major because its supposed to be a canon movie xD

yes we did *looks at trailer with sasuke giving a rose to sakura*  *looks at trailer with hinata threatening sakura for being near "her" naruto * xD as I said, this marketing strategy is a watered down version of what they did for road to ninja xD
