I recommend against killing adamantoise with death/summon spam, it ends up taking too long. I suggest you go through the missions and get alot more crystogen points to max your primary roles then go after them and kill them without summons, having to go get TP again is a bit of a waste of time in my opinion.
A couple of tips if anyone is interested, in chapter 11/oerba village, there is a robot named bhakti that needs to be repaired, you can do it after finishing the game or in chapter 11, but you should definitely repair it, since once you repair it, it gives over 500k gil in items to sell. Also, if anyone is looking for a good place to grind, I think the best place is the path to the Mah'bara mines on pulse. There is a Behemoth king and a Megistotherian fighting eachother, the good thing about this part is that you always get a preemptive strike and they start at half HP, afterwards you walk back up the path and a couple steps beyond the save point, and they should respawn.
Anyway, as for my progress, I've played way too much, I've completely maxed the crystarium and I've almost got the platinum trophy for the game, just got to 5 star all the missions and hold all weapons/accessories. Not sure if I am going to bother trying though, those 2 trohpies are going to be a pain in the arse.

Don't know about that, I've only fought the three times and got one trapezohedron crystal, I'm not grinding to keep on getting the Crystals, I might cheat and max out Fangs weapon and dismantle it, I heard you get three trapezohedron crystals when you do, So could be an easy way to upgrade a few weapon.
Yeah I did the Robot mission too, best mission in the game as far as rewards go.
Maxing out all you charactors is definitely not an easy task, i've maxed out two Crystalisation sections for each charactors so far and looks like it's gonna take allot more grinding to get the other four maxed out for each.
Getting between one and three is pretty much the norm in this game, you just have to figure out which componants to sell and which to keep. Usually RAW materials have low value but give give Bonus XP when ugrading weapons, Electircal have high Xp but negative XP, so you need to use the raw material to get you Bonus XP up and then use the high high Xp items to upgrade your weapons.

There isnt alot of gil for like the first 10 chapters or so if i recall correctly, luckily you dont really need to upgrade that much during those chapters. In regards to item drops, the battle rating only effects rare drops, if the rating is between 0-2 stars, you have no chance of getting a rare drop, a 3 star rating is the normal drop rate for that enemy, for example you have a 1% base chance of getting a Trapezohedron from an Adamantoise. A 4 star battle rating multiplies the base chance by 3, and a 5 star rating multiplies the base chance by 5, so to get rare drops, its best to go for a 5 star battle rating.
Yeah, there are about 3-4 weapons for both vanille and fang that if you max completely at tier 3, dismantles into 3 trap's but I personally wouldnt do that because of the cost, It costs over a million gil to max a tier 3 weapon, I think 1.2 million or so, depending on the specific weapon you transform. I think its better to get strong enough so you can kill adamantoises in less than 2 minutes, like myself. Or if that doesnt work, do the circle of cieth stone missions and have the Adamantoises transform into Long Gui's, they have a 25% chance to drop Traps. But they have like 16 million HP and are a pain to kill even when maxed i've heard lol.

Not really, for most missions there is a one time reward item. An example would be the gigantic pain in the ass mission 55 where you get an item called the growth egg, which doubles CP from battle. Also, you get a mini reward every time you do the mission again, like a few components or something. The only mission I know of that gives something good worth selling is mission 63, after getting the initial one time reward, you get a gold nugget every time after, which sells for 60k. Other than that, I'm not really sure.

Yeah that's until you get to Gran Pule those two Chips are the most rewarding items, Actually in Chapter Eight I think when you are at Hopes house just before the final level airship boss, you can keep on going round and round the house and the soldiers keep on respawning, it's the first time in the game where you can power-up and get some decent Gil using good old fashion level grinding. I actually didn't even bother upgrading my weapon till chapter 12, and even then I messed up because I didn't understand the bonus system, and it cost me allot more time and gils than it should have.
Thanks for the Tips Rick, i'll try doing that, now any idea where you can get the Dark Matter? I heard it's from the Long Gui's and considering I'm, struggling with the 3mil Dinasours, 16 Mill is way out of my league.

Dark Matter is actually dropped by the Shaolong Guis, which are the upgraded versions of the Adamanchields, the smaller turtles that you see guarding items and stuff. They get upgraded along with the bigger turtles as well, when you complete the circle of cieth stone missions. They have about 10 mil health if i recall correctly. Also, you could try searching youtube for "final fantasy 13 adamantoise" to get some tips on how to beat them effectively. There is one video on there that I found had a good strategy so I used it, but made a few modifications, so now I kill them in less than 2 minutes. To do that you will need a few specific items, especially the Genji Glove for Fang, which increases the damage cap from 99,999 to 999,999. That helps alot since at end game Fang does some crazy damage when the chain gauge is really high.
