Doesn't change the fact that hes a punk who deserves the poor reception that he shall eternaly receive in Philly.

And very cool too see broadcasters and analysts around the league crediting the fans for once instead of bringing up department store santa claus getting hit by snowballs

Okay I don't know the Philly side again, what did he do again besides not want to play for you? Not that that's an illegitimate reason. It's Legit, I just don't know the details.

I think our loyal fan bases have different reputations.

Guys like him, JD Drew and Curt Schilling.

Three guys who wanted a ticket out almost immediately. And the personalities didn't help much either.

Now, Curt and Scott were more alike. I have lived in and around Philadelphia my whole life, so Ive gotten to see the minor league teams play as well.

The Phillies used to do an exhibition game with their AA affiliate the Reading Phillies and it was a fun thing for the fans. But two guys, Mr Scott Rolen and Mr Curt Schilling hated the games. When they would play about, 2 or 3 innings. Guys like Jason Michaels and Jimmy Rollins never complained. They played, they had a laugh, and connected with the fan base. But these Rolen and Schilling sat in the back of the dugout, talking to each other, not giving a rats ass.

Now in Philadelphia, the fans pride themselves on the blue collar hard working mentality of the community. And they also grew into the negative light constantly show onto them. Either way, they're going to hate us, so why not embrace it?

Now because of this they are very hesitant and disproving at times of good players because they are different. They disliked Mike Schmidt, they hated Mcnabb because he was a joker, they get on Jimmy Rollins because he is also a bit of a joker, although he still acts like more of a leader. Cole Hamels is looked at as the California pretty boy and he has a group who hate him with a passion. Point being, they discriminate unfairly at times. Not all, but a very vocal minority.

Back to te exhibition game. It finally ends, they laid a beatdown on the Reading Phillies, and now the starters walk over to the crowd, high five some fans, autographs, photo opps etc. But Rolen is gone, he didn't play and left during the later innings when nobody noticed. Curt Schilling, the fat kitten, is still there. I assume he was enjoying the cheep beers on sale that night. So he walks past his teammates, walks past the crowd, because he wants to leave as well. Now a little kid, about 5-7 years old tugs his jacket. This little kid is in a wheelchair and wants an autograph. He is even wearing Curts jersey. Curt shakes his head no, and disappears.

Its not like it was a "if i sign your ball, then I gotta do it for everybody" kind of thing. We just wanted the kid in the wheelchair to get a few seconds with him. One of the other pitchers pulls hi back out and tells him, thats f**cked up to his face, and he instead signs the kids jersey, hat, ball, everything he wants signed.

Now that particular time, that was Curt Schilling's kitten up. But Scott Rolen was a good friend of his at the time. Thats the kind of company he was keeping. Probably bonded by their desire to get out of town. Which they both did, successfully. They were too good for us. Now in Philadelphia, worse than anywhere else, it was only natural that they both be remembered as vile human beings during there time here. I'm not trying to say you can't like him, he helped the cards win a title, Curt did it also for the Red Sox. They were both phenomenal players during their prime. But were also phenomenal douche bags during their time here. And the fans remember that.

Now you look at Jimmy Rollins, he came here in 2000, and was apart of some of the worst sports seasons in Philadelphia Sports History. But he hardly complained, he hung around, developed his swing, worked at getting on base and stealing bags. And then Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Cole Hames came up through the minors. They began competing, they sold out some games even though they missed the wild card a few seasons. Then in 07, he became the MVP. And the year after, the losingest franchise in sports won the world series. For that, J-Roll will be forever revered, because he didn't quit, like Scott, Curt or JD did. Especially in a town where sports are essentially religion.

I'm so happy we got Wainwright and even Marquis with that trade! You can hate Shilling, I really don't, but I had to sit next to Sox fans at the 04 World Series. They were Everywhere. wot.gif Really nice though we got along until the year turned to 05, then they became the Yankees. Be Unbiased Ken Burns!!!

Also you see what happened to Buster Posey, he's done for the year after what happened to his leg, broken fibula and tendons. Ouch. They'll miss him, NL West crown in your court Colorado.

And Nate I know you're there, you had to like the Comeback by Hamilton and Cruz their first night back.

The Red Sox fans were likeable before. I could relate to them. Afterwards, they became the sweethearts of america. And when you win, you get bandwagoners. And because of the historical ssignificance of their 2004 title win, they became overloaded with bandwagoners. There were people from this area turning into Red Sox fans. And they are just sooooooooooo obnoxious. I can't stand their accent either. And ESPN, being based in Connecticut, has tons of Boston sports fans who run things. Like they hardly bashed the Red Sox at all when they were in their funk. But they can dedicate half an hour of sportscenter to Derek Jeter going 0-5 after a game. Now I don't like the Yankees either, but the Red Sox spent billions this offseason just like the Yankees.

And the Buster Posey thing is tough. It was clean and Cousins did what runners are supposed to do. But a rule change could happen, because Posey is a rising star and the best offensive player on the Giants who will struggle mightily without him.

ESPN is biased towards big markets more then anything, it sickens me. hm.png New York and Boston especially because of being from Connecticut. And both teams have freaking channels of their own so they gain extra revenue not to mention you can barely afford to go to one of their games because of demand and the rising price of other major sports. *cough*Football!*cough*. And all it takes for them to get away with it is the Luxury Tax.

Back to ESPN you've gotta dislike Bobby Valentine and Nomar Garciapara as analysts as much as I do right?

(Baseball news that is not being covered in this Anti-ESPN rant...
The Diamondbacks are in first place in the NL West.
Josh Johnson will not return to FLorida from the DL on time.
Those plays/calls that happened in Detroit, Texas and Colorado.
Even with its losing streak Cleveland has runaway with a putrid AL Central.
The series between Milwalkee and the Reds that includes the usage of Dusty Baker jokes and Jay Bruce home runs.
Albert Pujols starting to pick up with the St Louis heat.
The Cubs still sucking.
The Pirates not sucking as much.
Dodger Stadium catching fire twice.
Joakim Soria's implosion.
Jo-Jo Reyes winning a game for the first time since 2008
Bartolo Colon pitching a CG shutoutfor Yankees since 2006.
Minnesota is the WORST Team in Baseball as of now with 17 wins and 35 losses. Who saw that coming?
Wait, The Mariners are above .500!?!)

I mean Valentine won't go away, he just won't go away! I like the crew on BBTN but I mean there are just some guys that don't know when to quit or when to let the bias go. I like their other guys like Kruk, Larkin, Perez and analysts but the Yankee-Red Sox cloud hovers over them even when clearly the best rivalry in Baseball to date has always been Giants-Dodgers.

Then there's that dude who does the Podcast who can't shut up about how he's a Phanatic. And Keith Law. wot.gif

But I guess we can't all be MLB Network. Even if Peter Gammons is there.

*Disclaimer: Insurrection finds MLB network to be awesome along with other specialty sports networks.

National League wins All-Star-Game 5-1. Thus restarting the arguement DH? Ha! What DH?

Prince Fielder hits three run home run and Heath Bell provides comic relief.

Now we move to the trade market and....

Fransisco Rodriguez has been traded to the Brewers?

Has he been that good? huh.gif I mean I was expecting Beltran, Wright(Wait, DL nevermind) or Reyes going before him.

Now who will get who?

Will the Phillies get a replacement for Jayson Werth that's cheap enough?

Will Walt Jockety make some majcks like he does?

Who will get Heath Bell?

Will the Cardinals trade Colby Rasmus if the price is right? (Because Nobodys is Takinz Shelby Miller or Carlos Martinez!)

We'll let you know here on H&E SportsBioDomeCenterBattleTradeFinalDeathCountStarSuperStation!

H&E SportsBioDomeCenterBattleTradeFinalDeathCountStarSuperStation Breaking Trade News:

Carlos Beltran will be traded to the San Fransisco Giants pending approval.

Colby Rasmus has been traded in a three team Mega deal involving the Cardinals, Blue Jays, and White Sox.

Most National Opinion has been how the Jays made out like bandits and the Cardinals screwed themselves, however I will point out details that do not stand out outside St. Louis. Even though I'm still kind of peeved at La Russa for kicking out another star player.

Colby Rasmus, is not good in the Clubhouse, he is very streaky and does not pay attention. If anything he is J.D. Drew WITHOUT Will Clark's attitude ajustment. He's dependent on his father more then the coaching staff. He isn't great as stat heads say, he doesn't have the IT as people thought.

But besides La Russa Banishing another player to a far distance, (Brendan Ryan, Seattle. Colby Rasmus, Toronto.) There is a bigger plus then people don't see for the Cardinals. They purged their bullpen, Trevor Miller, PJ Walters, and Brian Tallet are gone for Octavio Dotel and Mark Rzepczynski, Three Players TBNL and A lot of cash. Corey Patterson is also in the deal. But even more the White Sox took two of Toronto's top pitching Prospects, Zach Stewart and reliever Jason Frasor and infielder Mark Teahen. Several years from now this deal will look MUCH different then it appears now. It just we thought Colby Rasmus was worth more than rentals.

But it appears St. Louis is not done as news comes that Padres' reliever trade news has increased and quickend according to Buster Olney.

Texas is increasing its search for a reliever as well and the Braves are now looking to acquire Ryan Ludwick, Carlos Quentin

In other news:

The Pirates were shanghaied!!!

The Mariners losing streak ends at 17

Angel's Santana has NO-HIT THE CLEVELAND INDIANS. 3-1 final score, Indians had 5 errors.

Sports are pretty much all that matters here anyway. The fans actions are questionable but its never for a lack of passion, Philly sports is our blood and put on the same level and sometimes even above family in most cases.

And the Braves are in the hunt for Carlos Quentin. I suspect though that Philly severely overpaid this time.

You mean like the Cardinals? Rays? Rangers? Dodgers(Not this year: Free them from McCourt!!)? Angels? Tigers?

BTW Albert Pujols is 1 hit away from 2000 right now, either tomorrow or tonight.

Every other team at this point kinda seems irrelevant. It's gonna be impossible to beat the Phils or Giants in a series for the foreseeable future.

I think you're mistaken. No one saw the Giants coming last year, no one saw the Rangers, you keep betting on the overpowered teams you're going to get burned. Happened to New York and Philly last year. Could happen to San Fransisco this year.

Can't take anything for granted. *See 2006 New York Mets *1990 Oakland Athletics *1960 New York Yankees *1926 Yankees *1954 Dodgers *2001 Yankees *1996 Braves *1984, 2003, 2007-2008 Cubs *2002 Giants *2008 Red Sox *1971 Orioles

Rangers are not going to win their division this year because we can't beat the Angels. Angels don't have the bats to beat both the Sox and Yanks. I do think Cleveland or the Tigers are a dark horse, but I will put money on the Phils or Giants. They have the supreme pitching to win WS, but of course there could always be a surprise.

The National League Team has the best chance to win this year, but do not discount Atlanta or whoever comes out of the Central, even if they get commonly swept. Milwalkee and St. Louis can give teams headaches when they're on a roll.

Also Pujols will have at least one more chance tonight to get to 2000.

UPDATE:

Double down the left field line! He's does it! 2000 for Albert Pujols!
