no worries - I'm trying to make sure duplicate links to big things like teasers, leaks, interviews, etc., get into both threads. That way, no matter where the bulk of the discussion ends up, people can always link back to the topic thread instead of searching through the pages and pages of the discussion thread. 

 

As for the teaser, all I see is that it's completely clear that the ending of Naruto was just a bridge to the new series. Nothing more. Sasuke as his Master? Ugh. Naruto the manga was flushed down the toilet for new era project.

You know the sad part is that Salad is being used as a rival and since there's no story like evil or vengeance or whatever, she's not targeted to have developments or such. Just a target to beat.

Thankfully, it's short before more exposure of Kishi will be shown and it ain't pretty.

  Sasuke will probably  ignore her in favor of training bolt so my guess  is that her motivation will be to beat her father's student . Not sure why bolt would see her of all people as a rival . Just because she's Sasuke's daughter ?

Who knows, but the idea is that's his target. Don't expect her to get anything more than that. Probably father thing, but judging by Kishi's comment, I think the real focus is Bolt and father issue of his.

The link dosen't work so i posted another one. So far this is a failed cheap knockoff version of the original naruto manga. Im hoping for this series to get killed in the sales department then kishi,sp and seishuha should put naruto to rest for good if there smart enough.

No that's not the case, most of the kids, except burrito, are a mix of their parents characteristics. The main problem is that most of them are god awful ugly 

I gave examples. Every child is a mix of their parents but they all favour one of their Parents MORE. Save for Chou-Chou this can be seen with everyone else. Bolt,Salad and Shikadai being the prime examples.

You can't have Shikadai act more like Temari can you? Shikamaru is far more important and popular a charachter to let his kid take after anybody but himself. This becomes especailly important if Kishimoto's trying to bring in fans via nostalgia.
 

 
Salad's shannaro and red dress are specially highlighted to show she is Sakura's daughter because her physical chracteriscs and (I presume) psychological characteristics are more on Sasuke's side.

That'll be enough. No matter what side of Sarada reflects Sakura more it'll still be enough for most Sakura fans to go back at least for a look. And if not most -many. Read-enough.
 

You are contradicting yourself, first you said he would try more likely to reclaim his lost fanbase and now you are saying he disposed us off completely? 
 
Frankly, I believe the first thing you said makes more sense, the hetero SNS is a obvious fan pandering to try to make SNS fans pay attention on part 3
 

No I'm not. Its very clear. Of course they'll try to reclaim lost fans. Any franchise would. But we're not the TARGET MARKET. We're not TOP priority.

Appeasing us via little fanservice doesn't make us more important. We're collateral. If they get us they get us but they'll not go out of their way by antagonizing NH/SS and rest of the fans for us.

They'll throw bread crumbs. But that's it. No harm in that to them is their?
 
 

Kishi's said Naruto journey is over.
Burrito will more likely come to understand his father POV in the spin off which is a bad thing because Naruto should learn something out of this too. Neglect can't be excused
 

Kishimoto is exceptionally good at creating drama and at emotionally manipulative writing.

I'm 60% percent sure that he'll write the story from Bolt's point of view in a manner that makes Naruto look like a devoted loving father at the end.

We're talking about a writer who can generate sympathy for mass-murderers with really shallow backstories. Read Itachi and Obito. It doesn't always work. But it does work. Both Itachi and Obito are either loved or hated. But despite their deplorable actions the are loved.

I mean I can understand how a author can take RL experiences, twist them and put into fiction. But this is almost a blçatant self insertion. For example I can see Naruto's 700 message to bolt being a veiled message from kishi to his children, this is blatant self insertion bc this message makes little sense in the context of the story

Um...Yes I thought everyone knew this. He introduced Minato, Khushina, Killer-B etc taking inspiration from real life.

He himself said in an interview that whenever he feels stuck he takes inspiration from his own life to present Naruto with a problem to deal with.

Looking at the trailer, I'm thinking it's retcon the movie, Sasuke the sensie, to retcon the fact he's not a bad father who is never home, and Naruto's bad parenting will likely be changed to child trying to come out from his fathers shadow and prove himseilf.

 

Looking at the colour scheme and the focus on Naruto and Sasuke in the trailer, looking like they will be trying to win over the two fanbases they screwed over the most, the NS fanbase, So NaruSaku and NaruSasu. I wouldn't be surprised if the kids end up taking a back seat anyway, nobody is going to care for the kids, it's like in Dragonball, they tried to push Gohan but it didn't work so Goku ended up coming back to get the fans back in.

 

The fact this movie is coming out on 8.7 so less than 10 months after the Last was released doesn't fill you with confidence that it's a quality production, but Cash In, There is now Kishi would have managed to finish the plot, for the movie in time, so I guessing this is another SP full production, with Kishi being labled as the person responsible for the script to one again try to trick us into thinking this was all his idea. Though I doubt this time they'll let us in on that fact.

 

I feel sorry for the fans who actually think this will be a great piece of work as good as Naruto used to be.

But really I won't think they will pander that much to NH/SS fans since it's incredibly difficulto to make IC SS and NH proved it's commercial failure with the Last, I think its more likely that they will throw something here and there. Don't know about Killer bee but I heard about Kushina, he said he got advice from his wife on how to do her, IMO this is different than self insert, self insert is when the author tries to use the character to show something he wanted to say even if it makes no sense in the story

 

Just look at Naruto saying  "endure it becuz I'm like super busy" , I find it difficult that Naruto Uzumaki would brush off his son just like that specially when he felt similar emotions when he was a child I also find that this "super busy" is a horrible excuse, am I supposed to believe that the Kage work that didn't stopped Hashirama from spoiling Tsunade, Sarutobi from walking around the village talking to the children, Tsunade from training Sakura somehow stopped Naruto from spending a certain amount of time with his son?

It's a lame excuse, and you can expose it's ridiculouness just by going back and researching facts about the estabilished canon. It was made a just a stupid self insertion wish by kishimoto and it will probably be expanded upon in the Burrito series where Burrito will eventuallt reach the conclusion that his dad was right all along

The Kishi you're talking about is the Kishi with Yahagi shoving a boot up his behind every chapter. Don't believe me? Just sit back and read the first dozen chapters of Naruto Gaiden. I guarentee it's going to be of inferior quality to the original.

Shikadai: acts lazy. Acts cool like his father. Temari scolds him for his disrespectful greeting. 700 was short but it was enough to give us a feel of how the kids of the new generation act.

What I meant was that Shikamaru is popular and greatly loved by the fandom. So its more likely that Shikadai will bring in more popularity if he's modeled after his father. Also nostalgia.

And since this is Jump every single thing in the new era will be about pandering to the popular demand.

Uh I still didn't explain very well I think. The pandering to shipping fans is still going on full on right now. There's special merchandise for Heteroshippers. I haven't been keeping up with any of the threads so I don't know if anybody posted those pics or not but Fanservice is really at a high now.

But I agree that this fanservice won't be present in the mini series. At least not a lot.

Views on Obito are polarised. But you'll still find a large number of people that love him. If not adult Obito, kid Obito is still loved.On any Obito video on youtube you'll see exactly this.One half will be bashing Obito the other half vehemently defending him.

I think its a little bit both of self-insertion and writing from ones own experiences.

I still can't wrap my head around Naruto being anything less than a loving father. It just doesn't feel real.

Kishimoto is good at creating drama. Remmber Naruto's goodbye to Minato.Or that Guy chapter Kishimoto wrote as a tribute to his father? Those were written after Yahagi left.


I'm NOT saying he's a good storyteller but at critical moments he can deliver really emotionally impactful scenes. His plot points go from here to nowhere,parallels become parallols and apparently half the manga was misleading . But there were some really good emotional moments.

I'll say this much. He could do a decent job at it but the follow-up and build-up are bad because it's not done correctly and often come out forced. Really forced. If it's not a problem, people wouldn't complain in the first place. And I do mean majority of them. Get the little to no negative reactions, max is half.

Anyway, well, the movie concept, if we guess it right, can be an easy plug in of drama, but then again, that's like accepting many other movies that does the same and even bad ones tried that. If we just see that one moment and think the movie is great regardless of everything behind it, then everything is great. No standards.

I think coloring the final chapters isn't necessarily an indication of popularity, but more likely finality as well as a means to promote the subsequent movie.

And you're welcome to support your opinion. In my opinion, the former was a retread of his goodbye to Kushina and watered down the impact of him saying goodbye during the Pein arc. The latter was unnecessary and meaningless given that Gai's fight didn't serve any real purpose in the end other than to pad out a story arc that was already too long. Especially for the latter, you had scores of people complaining, wishing Kishi would just move things along and get Naruto and Sasuke back to the picture.

I disagree. Just about everything after the Pein arc was abysmal to say the least. Even the storylines and emotionally impactful scenes that had potential were quickly forgotten about, watered down or altogether abandoned by subsequent events. Take Naruto and Sasuke's "deaths" for example. Naruto gets the kyuuubi yanked out of him. Sasuke gets stabbed through the chest. This would've been a great time to bring out some really great emotional moments from the supporting characters. Instead, its kind of glossed over and Naruto does not even so much as thank Sakura upon becoming conscious again. Nothing from Karin's camp either, but she and Taka are so meaningless in this manga that I suppose it doesn't matter anyway.

Impact emotional moments does happen but on the wrong characters. Again, if you ignore the background and buildup, it will be decent at the least. But if you do apply to everything, then you'll know what's good or not. After Pain, nothing were good impactful moments, minus Naruto's parents. For some reason, his father's farewell was lacking like it was just there to respond back. Plus it was a bit cheesy. Needless to say, he can draw them but he can't really write them.
