Guys, I have a question. Are the soundtracks played in order of the movie? If they are, let's analyze this together. Let's use the soundtracks to come up with the sequence of the movie.

See this is the other thing that is tugging me in the direction of this being a real ending. But to balance it out, the ending is so bad, it's almost too bad. And inconsistent. It's more like a dream and "a dream feels real while we're in them right? It's only when we wake up that we realise something was actually strange." This ending is definitely strange.

Exactly, think about it, Naruto was supposedly to end up with someone like his mother, and his mother wanted Naruto to eat healthy. If Hinata was like Kushina, wouldn't she make sure of that? right now it doesnt seem to be the case. as ive said, he has to resort to ramen cups lolz.

before even showing naruto in that chapter, kishi first showed what he's eating. kushina told him not to be a picky eater and naruto said he wouldn't. but looks like he lied to his mother. this is just too obvious now.

One thing that I forgot to add to my theory as part of a counter-argument for what I've wrote there is this:

That I agree. Is indeed real. The last show the Uchiha and the Senju coming together in the whole shinobi world.

The only thing I don't believe is real is the contents before this last page. I'm not saying it was written by an assistant or anything. It was definitely written by Kishi. I'm just questioning the possibility of "genjutsu" this chapter can be and will be revealed later. The comic book version of manga has edits from Kishi when he makes a mistake in the SJ version. Some mangakas add several pages to the comic they didn't have in the magazine when they finish their story. The full explanation might not have been added to the SJ version because it will be revealed in the movie. And then some pages could be added in the comic with publication. I don't know. If it's believable that Kishi just made this ending with totally OOC characters and no explanations, I think my idea could be a little believable too. I'm not saying I'm 100% right. I'm just trying to make sense of all this instead of just leave it as "Kishi threw away his 15 years of writing". Because I can't accept things that don't make sense.

How about 699? It seems to tie in with 700...at least I think it does.

 
I didn't comment on 699 because I still don't know if I should consider it a realistic continuation of the previous chapters. Some parts seem real, but some parts don't.
 

I guess i keep going back to his bowing to some kind of pressure because the manga part of the brand, which Kishi was more closely working on, was very much NS. However the anime and movies, which were produced by large teams and may never have Kishi's input at all (or only in part for certain episodes/movies), were always promoting NH or SS. Sometimes subtly and sometimes overtly. So that says to me that there is a difference in the creator's vision and the marketing team's vision.

And I'm certainly no expert on mangakas and how they operate, but it's been my experience that the bigger the project, the more hands are involved and the more people have to sign off on it. It's a nice thought that the creative person is going to be allowed to follow their passion and not be pushed to do what is the most commercially viable for the larger brand, but I've never found that to be the case. 
 
So taking that into account, that for 15 years the manga and the anime were in a subtle tug-of-war over the romance direction, I tend to think that in the end Kishimoto chose to go the route of what would be more commercially successful and allow the series/brand to continue. 
 
edit: ok I even hate the picture of Naruto at the bottom of the last page. The stern half-smile, so unlike Naruto growing up. Ugh.

The thing is Kishi only started to get involved in movies with RTN. He seems to be heavily involved in this movie too. He could still earn a lot of money without being involved in it like all these past years but yet he got involved. I could understand a full-blown NH romance movie with 134% OOC-ness if Kishi just gave every rights to the movie creators. But that wasn't the case. He drew the characters, and thought of the plot. He did all this when he could've gone the same route as the movies before RTN.

The parallel between Naruto and his son is a good point. I would have agreed to it if the meaning behind it was positive. Like Naruto's son doing pranks and Naruto laughing with it, or Naruto hugging his son, or making shadow clones and playing with his son and his son being happy. But no it wasn't. His son was showing the same loneliness Naruto had and Naruto hit him when his son expressed it. This isn't a parallel I would expect in shounen manga because it means NOTHING has really changed or developed. The story started with a lonely boy fighting to be acknowledged and ends with the lonely boy neglecting his own son instead of learning from his past and NEVER making his son feel lonely.

Uhhh, in the trailer you can see a flashback while he's saying that. So, he's probably refering to that.

Lol. It sucks being an INTJ at times like this. I was supposed to never come back to this fandom, but when I peeked the chapter I just had to come back and try to unravel the mystery of this apparent chaos.

Exactly. Why would you "paralell" in the negative things?

The last chapter of every story that is supossed to end in a positive resolution needs to have a perfect happy ending. Just having things that you can point out with a simple look/the feelings than are transmited to you by it means that...is not the expected ending, and give us reasons to don't believe it (?)

I was always curious to know where it was said that Kishi's assistant scripted and wrote the final chapter. Several times now that allegation has been brought up but no one has provided any links to an official website with the quotation.  A link to a FB page or other social media might suffice.

Also, an interesting point. Evils hints included a picture of the moon. I mean that could easily hinted that they would dispel IT but wouldn't everyone already expect that?
