So the fight actually goes down in this chapter, and generally I'm seeing somewhat mixed reactions here. Not to be complaining, just wanted to point it out. Anybody else, but me getting the feeling that the OVA and bench scene is coming up.

Nice video.

I would say I do enjoy this chapter and the fight. I don't know if it will end all next one but I do like all the actions they put out for a short time. It's a personal fight than a fight to stop the evildoer, so things are more surrounded on them. It reminds me of last fight of MGS4. No more worries, just personal.

I stopped giving a kitten about this fight since Pain solo'ed Konoha.

 

I dont want us to waste what few chapters we have left on a fight we already know the conclusion to. This is all because Kishi dragged out the Kaguya fight and took a week off...

 

I doubt its over yet, we still need to have Sakura regain consciousness and stat heading over there which will probably be in the next chapter or two.

NaruSaku will not happen, but NaruHina won't happen either. The end pairing is NaruSasu, that's the Shocking End.

Naruto and Sasuke will finally come out of the closet together and admit that they've been attracted to each other for years. And now more than ever, they can't hold it any longer. Imma leave you with something, check the spoilers.

On a serious note. My guess is probably the most obvious one. Something that 4life said for along time, that Sasuke ends up traveling the world in trying to find himself, considering how confused he has been his entire life. Another possibility: Sasuke comes back to the village and lives happily ever after, I just don't see this one.

The choreography in this fight is weird. Every attack after the first punch has been long-ranged ninjutsu - just like almost every other battle since the beginning of the Jubi Revival arc - yet it's somehow managed to surpass the snoozefest that was Kaguya's cat and mouse game, despite the short-lived style compared to the volume's worth of action that Kaguya had. Granted, it doesn't take much to create a scenario with higher quality action compared to Kaguya.

 

I was hoping that there would be more variety in this fight. The entire manga has been pandering to the NaruSasu relationship since the Sasuke Retrieval arc. Everything that's happened between them has come to a head with this battle. The least Kishi could do is offer more enthralling combat sequences by having these two use every discipline and technique that they have ever learned, not just the tried and true gundams that they acquired during this war. I can't be the only one who would like to see how Naruto's sage empowered taijutsu along with the Frog Kata would stack up to the precognitive ability of the Sharingan. Pure taijutsu has been a scarcity in this manga for quite some time. Can Naruto outflank the Amaterasu's near instantaneous appearance on enemies (a label which Naruto hasn't been branded with yet against an Uchiha who could project the black flames)? Will Kirin finally see use again? Genjutsu has always been a weak point of Naruto's. Sasuke should be capitalising on his opponent's flaws by using the same internal suppression tactics on the bijuu that were proven to be achievable in the Sasuke and Sai arc. Remove the bijuu, and the partner system for breaking illusions has become null and void. Why doesn't the sansukumi relationship between frog and snake play any importance? The frog sages should be allowed to have one final battle in the manga, especially one with philosophical implications that they both have a stake in when they threw in with Naruto and Jiraiya's way of peace. 

 

Naruto versus Sasuke was probably enivisoned by quite a few people to be different than this. There's hopefully still more to expect from this fight, but so far I think the original fight in Part 1 is at a higher standard compared to this one, even if the explosions and jutsu weren't as big back then. 

 

Combat aside, I think Naruto's word choice to Sasuke was interesting.

Does Naruto actually believe that Sasuke was feigning his preference for loneliness? His suspicions in this fight are somewhat understandable since Sasuke has been bombarded with so many different TnJ treatments that it's having a effect finally. That doesn't mean Sasuke felt emotionally hindered in his lonely mission before Itachi, Hashirama, and everyone else began to influence him.

 

I think these two pages paint a different image of his acceptance for it...

Sasuke's psychotic episodes aren't relevant in the current manga though. He'll be reformed by Naruto, probably without any reprisals for his criminal history, and that'll be the end of it.
