Sakura should punch Sasuke for the ultimate anti SS. I'm not surprise the NH fandom will be saying NH will be canon because of Hinata's dream lol. Poor fans its actually the opposite.

I like the interpretation of Chouji's and Ino's, with Shikamaru, it's very interesting, since he's tied to two romantic couples in that scene, one being his parents, the other being Asuma&Kurenai. His perfect world consists of those two couples ALIVE and him not beig tied down in a relationship. In the real world, are Asuma's and his dad's death a catalyst for Shikamaru to change his opinion on marriage? I like seeing Shikamaru's dream as not a dream for himself, but for those two couples to exist happily.

 

Yeah, it's obvious that Shikamaru's life spun around Asuma and Shikaku, and their teachings. They were one of the most important people for him, his role-models in a sense. So he dreams about them being alive and happy. Temari might be added to the scene just to please ST fans, just like Hinata is sometimes added to some scene unnecessarily to please NH fans. That is my opinion since I'm not very fond of ShikaTema, but I agree it is a possible pairing and maybe Shikamaru's dream was foreshadowing.

I've gone to the point that I don't think Sasuke doesn't care about Sakura and Kakashi. If he didn't care he would ignore them. But how he goes out of his way to put them down makes me think he really hates them. If it were Konohamaru or Kiba asking for information, he would have just ignored them.

 

Now, Sakura and Kakashi needs to ask information through Naruto. Sigh....what a bother.

In the dream, he didn't want to be like them. But in reality, he'll probably be just like them.

Shikamaru's kid: Dad, why did you marry such a scary mom?

Shikamaru: .......Even that mother of yours smiles kindly sometimes. 

It would be awesome if the above scene would appear in the end of the manga. Maybe not though.

Well again NH isn't really dealt with any real major damage but still NS is inevitable.

Kishi has been building up the scary mom trope for so long it wouldn't make sense for Sakura not to be Shinachiku's mother, hell even the Rikudou Sage got a scary mom....well she's the main villain at this point but still.

Oh men this chapter was sweet and not to brag about it but i was somewhat right about the NH stuff being shown to us so time for resolution and this only confirmed that NH ain't happening the dreams that happened will never happen that much is obvious  , loved the ASS moment LOL and one more thing if this chapter doesn't prove that Sakura was sad of Sasuke because of the teamwork that i don't know what does so SS is finished not that it wasn't for a very long time and Gaara is the real brother of Naruto kitten Sasuke oh and i knew Ino has the hots for Sai no surprise here . That cliff though was awesome can't wait to see what's gonna happen now XD .

Well did not see that last bit coming! Okay Hinata was............. well Hinata. Funny seeing all those dreams, even though I was like oh God with though Gaara's was very touching. Sasukre stop being a jerk for once, glad Naruto defended his team, though a little annoyed at Kakashi, though I suppose he wouldn't really care anyway. Well Black Zetsu seems to be the king of betrayals. Kagura did not see it doing down like that, though I guess it fits the someone will always be used theme. Anyway looks like NH & SS is dead.

While I don't essentially disagree with you KnS, I too also want you to elaborate on how you think NH is dead.

 

Sure.

 

I've always thought NH was dead because for the obvious reason that Naruto has no romantic interest in Hinata, and this has been consistent throughout the entire story.  As if that weren't enough, he has actually displayed a powerful love for another girl -- which has also been consistent throughout the story.

 

A one-sided relationship is a dead one.  It's a simple fact.  There is no relationship if there's, you know, no relationship.  But here's why I think NH is dead -- or more dead -- based on this chapter.  Let's take a look at the dreams we were shown.  

 

+ Kiba dreams he is Hokage, and creates a village "Dog Day" holiday.

   Not possible.  I think everyone agrees that Kiba will not become Hokage. 

 

+ Shino dreams of discovering a new, giant species of insect.

   Possible, but unlikely.  A bug big enough to fly around on that no one has ever seen before?

 

+ Choji dreams that he finds a girl who thinks eating a lot is "manly" and appealing.

   Possible, but unlikely.  

 

+ Shikamaru dreams that marriage is too troublesome, an observation he shares with Temari -- an eligible woman with whom he has had many interactions, some of which have hinted at a possible relationship between them.

   Possible, but unlikely.  I think the message Kishimoto intended here was that Shikamaru will get married, making his dream false.

 

+ Ino dreams that Sasuke and Sai fight over her.

   Not possible. 

 

+ Lee defeats Naruto and Neji, and Sakura declares love for him.

   Not possible.

 

+ Tenten dreams that Neji is alive, and that Lee and Gai are no longer embarrassing but cool in a real way -- not their way.

   Not possible.

 

+ Mei dreams of getting married.

   Possible, but unlikely.  Would the other Kage attend her wedding wearing suits and ties? 

 

+ Tsunade dreams of Dan as Hokage, that he is alive and with her, as is her little brother, Jiraiya, and Orochimaru.

   Not possible.

 

+ Gaara dreams of the happy childhood he missed, his parents and uncle alive, and that he is already friends with Naruto.

   Not possible.

 

Then there's Hinata:

 

+ Hinata dreams she is sitting alone with Naruto in a romantic way.  Neji, the leader of the branch house, is alive and is about to break it up or interfere but is stopped.

   Not possible.

 

What's interesting to me is how many of the dreams are about romance, love, and relationships.  The only dreams in this category that are possible, as shown, are the ones that are vague or involve someone unknown to the dreamer.

 

Shikamaru's dream is vague, so it's technically possible to go either way.  Choji and Mei's dreams are possible because they dreamed of people they don't actually know -- sort of a fill-in-the-blank, wildcard sort of dream.  They're possible, because they're not impossible.

 

All the other romance dreams -- Ino, Lee, Tsunade, and Hinata -- all contain elements that are impossible.  By presenting it this way Kishimoto didn't single out Hinata as the only one to not get her romantic wish, but he handles each situation consistently.  Each requires a radical change in the behavior, feelings, or capability of another character that would be out of character. 

 

It's the true meaning of "dream."  In our dreams we imagine things, hope for things that are not possible in real life.  It's a way for our hearts to manage our longings and regrets that cannot be changed or erased in real life.  But they're not real.  By showing them this way, I believe Kishimoto is basically saying the character's dreams will never happen.

 

Just my opinion.

This just goes to show the hysteria many people went through last week - that Sakura must have some deep, unchanging love for Sasuke because she was sad he didn't blink when she was stabbed - completely missed the point. The point was that Sakura knows with irrefutable proof that she means nothing to him as an individual.

This chapter again cements this, he wouldn't even let her have to dignity to ask a perfectly normal question.

 Well, this was a build up chapter for the most part. First off, I really don't know how SS fans can keep being so confident.  Kishimoto just gave us another ASS moment.  I mean really, all I could say was, "wow".  Sasuke was unnecessarily harsh.  It's nothing new because it's consistent with his character.  Sasuke only cares about himself and his goals, denying the feelings of other people.  He's just really so full of himself too.  I mean he not only talks that way to Sakura, but Kakashi as well, who was his teacher, despite their history from decisions he himself made.  Also, he'll be proven wrong.  The reason is because Kakashi and Sakura are still there.  It's a character type Chekov's Gun that hasn't come into play yet, but it will, especially for Sakura.  No way Kishimoto is just going leave her feeling that way, throughout the whole battle.  He's building up for something; we just have to be patient.

 

I liked how Naruto reacted to Sasuke's comment about Sakura,  It was a little moment.  Kishimoto subtly shows the difference between Sasuke's comment on Sakura with Naruto having a serious, angry look, and Sasuke's comment towards Kakashi with Naruto having the joke, angry eyes.  I wonder how much long Kishimoto is going to have Sasuke in the spotlight though.  Even in this chapter, Kakashi says that Sasuke should be leader, because he has a Rinnegan.  However, it can't continue for much longer.  The situation changed now Kaguya coming to the forefront.  Kaguya doesn't have a Rinnegan, but the very first Sharingan.  Who knows,what that's capable of? Also, they are facing an unfamiliar enemy.  They got used to Madara.  Now, they are to face someone completely new to them.  Anyway, It shouldn't be long now when Naruto takes back the reigns from Sasuke, and we're reminded why this manga is called "Naruto".

 

I was surprised we got glimpses into certain characters dreams.  I thought it was worth it, even though it got fair bit of panel time, and can act as build up to future events.  Also, Kishimoto is going out of his way to show that some things will not happen, because it's a dream.  Dan, Jiraiya and Nawaki are all dead, and Orochimaru has been mentally unstable for years.  Of course, Tsunade's dream will have them alive and together.  Sai and Sasuke will never fight over Ino.  TenTen's dream is quite modest, but still won't happen (at least not how she imagines it), and has long since accepted it.  Oh my, Gaara, you just aren't human if you didn't feel anything from his dream, but that's it, it's only a dream.  Both his parents are dead, but as partly one of the exceptions, some things in his dream are true:  he has a good relationship with his siblings, and Naruto will always be his best friend.

 

NH won't happen.  However, in a twist, Shikamaru won't remain single.  He has long since accepted getting into troublesome things.  Also, Kishimoto has hinted on Shikamaru getting with Temari.  It doesn't have as much development as NS, as Kishimoto did say he wasn't actually going to do a romance subplot for Shikamaru, according to an interview.  However, that didn't mean he wasn't going to pair him with anyone, just not give it much focus.  Similar to Naruto, Shikamaru's love interest was lampshaded by his parents by a description of qualities, and was confirmed who it was in chapter 214.

 

However, not all the dreams shown are representations of what won't happen.  I hope Choji does find a girl (probably not the one in his dream).  Maybe Kiba will become Hokage (after Naruto, but we won't have a holiday for dogs).  Shino may indeed find a new species of insect.  Hopefully, Mei does find a husband.  Maybe Lee will surpass his rivals (he won't gain Sakura's affection though).

 

 

NH is dead

Nh will never happen, this dreamworld proves it. I don't know if you noticed, but all the dreams that happened in this chapter were dreams that will never happen, Lee being loved by Sakura, Kiba being Hokage, tsunade's beloved ones being alive, Gaara and his parents, etc.. Look and you will see that all the dreams will never happen. 
 
Also can someone explain Tenten's dream to me? I didn't understand. 

 

That would be harsh for Choji though.  Hopefully, he does find a girl.  Same with Mei in finding a husband.

 

I agree about most of the dreams are representations of won't happen in the real world.  Pairing-wise, just like NH won't happen, ShikTema will become canon.  In his dream, Shikamaru didn't dream himself being in a relationship with her, because it's too troublesome for him.  However, we know he long since stopped avoiding getting into troublesome things since he became a Chuunin.  It's his fate to continue getting into troublesome things, even relationships .

Ok this is gonna be a first for me but I just gotta do it!!! I gotta go full on RANT on the fandoms for this chapter!!! >:( lol

First off I actually did enjoy this chapter because we got to see most of everyone's dream world and what it would be like. But there are three things that pissed me off in and out of this chapter that must be put to justice!!!!! DX

1: NARUHINA FANS!!!! You can go on to say this is something relatable to your fandom but for the love of god don't go deciding that it's canon because of it!!!! You can't go connecting to what "YOU" think happened last chapter to this little piece of dreamland to justify canonship. You wanna know why!?!?.....PANEL PLACEMENT!!! Last chapter Hinata was the last one to be seen of Naruto's friends being trapped by tree. Kishi would of coarse make her the first person we of their dreams in this chapter because logical sense to put that in the panels due to last weeks chapter. And not only that who else was there to be along with her in that page?? Her team members Kiba and Shino!! Kishi placed the panels of each page that showed the dreams to show of each team and it's members in the correct order!!! So please just look at that rationally and not go canon crazy ok!?

2: SASUSAKU FANS!!!! For the love of GOD and all that is holy do I even have to explain this to you guys!?!? Some of you actually see the light and agree that Sasuke is A**hole!!! But some of you try to JUSTIFY Sasuke's actions and think it's still playing for your fandoms side!?!? WTH!!!! Look at Sakura's gestures and her FACE!!!!! Do you feel proud of yourselves for that!?!? I don't even need to say anymore to you guys of this because Naruto pretty much did it for me....... "Sasuke you kitten!!!!"

3: SAKURA HATERS!!!! To all of you that are agreeing with Sasuke that Sakura is being useless........YOU GUYS ARE GONNA BE SCREWED!!!!! You know why??? Because Kishi did something that is eventually going to be at least some of you guys downfall!!! And it's all thanks to Sasuke.......and that something is called FORESHADOWING!!!!!! Sasuke may have told Sakura that she is useless but that's gonna play a big part into something that she will do in this final fight and it will surprise the heck out of you guys!!!
Half of what she'll do in the future may be to prove to Sasuke that she isn't useless, but the other half I'll bet my soul to the Devil that Naruto will be the confindance boost and power she'll need to her "Moment". So Countdown has started Sakura haters so be ready!!! >:)

So in order:

 

Hinata - It was expected and actually kind of cute. I don't mind her feelings since she's not a relevant character.

 

Kiba - "Dog day Holiday" lol. It's official, Kiba would be the best Hokage.

 

Shino - His love for bugs is always funny.

 

Chouji - His ideal woman is a medieval barmaid, wasn't expecting that. But the manly eating part sure was expected.

 

Shikamaru - Liked the ShikaTeam hint, and seeing the adult couples happily was touching.

 

Ino - Funniest dream. Turns out she only likes Sasuke (and Sai) because she wishes to be popular with the cute boys so they'll fight over her. lol

 

Lee - "YOUTH WON", that is all. (NaruHina = LeeSaku)

 

Tenten - She hopes not to be the "straight man". Anyone that saw SD will get what I mean.

 

Mei - I hope she gets to marry in real life.

 

Tsunade - Very touching, and I like that there's ambiguity regarding her feelings of Dan and Jiraiya.

 

Gaara - The feels, just the feels. We definitely need to see them share that sake cup after Naruto becomes Hokage.

 

Other mentions:

 

- I might be one of the few that actually enjoyed Sasuke's attitude in this chapter. I guess it's because to me it felt like something he would say at this point, so I can't dislike seeing someone act as they're supposed to even if it's with a bad attitude. If that wasn't the case then no one would enjoy Madara's character and almost everyone likes him.

 

- Speaking of which, I totally did not expect that ending twist. It makes me look forward to next week very much.
