I tried to keep low expectations for this chapter, hoping it would be better than the last one, but I'm disappointed. I wasn't expecting a NaruSaku moment once Naruto woke up, but I was definitely hoping. I thought for sure Naruto and Obito would talk before Naruto left Kamui and we'd get perhaps a small moment for NS then, but no dice. Oh well.
Honestly though, it sounds like a lot of people are trying to make themselves feel better about the lack of NS interaction -- "Well, it was the right moment," and "It makes sense because..." -- even though so many were absolutely sure Kishimoto wouldn't skip the NaruSaku recovery scene. It just feels like damage control. And then trying to find a consolation prize in a supposed NaruSaku/ SasuKarin parallel, just really?
Frankly don't see it and neither do I care about any such parallel. I'm so done with parallels at this point, I don't care if it's Kishi's 'style', it's too much and becoming little more than a cheap shortcut that no longer has any meaning or substance. Parallels are not development. Yet so many seem to treat them as it they are.
Anyway, this chapter felt rather rushed. Gai was pretty cool, but Madara just looked like an idiot; why is he just standing there?! And there's no way he should have been damaged so easily with all the power he has, I don't care how strong Gai's taijutsu is. Then Naruto shows up and revives Gai, making his sacrifice lose all meaning that it may have had. Sigh.
I'm calling it now, Naruto's new ability allows him to revive people without any of the negative consequences of Rinne Tensei. I mean, why not? Death obviously doesn't mean a thing in this manga anymore.
I guess I should just end my rant here.
I guess people are really disappointed because of this but as you said this was a golden opportunity Kishimoto wasted for no reason since he gave us many reactions from SS and NS in the past.
But reading this Man manga for so lo force me to be surprised by him rather than having a strong expectation of something happening mainly because he always tends to disappoint us in some way and this goes for all Naruto pairing fans (Big example the RTN Movie).
I believe that if you honestly ask yourself if we all expected most of those pairing moment we got in part two? The answer will be NO, but the moment we start predicting what will happen next, are the moment we all got disappointed.
Don't get me wrong I'm disappointed but I gave up on predicting what will happen next.

So a lot of people think my theory is bullcrap right? "That is what it is, James. You just sound desperate to find something that isn't there." Yeah, let me remind you that people said the same thing about my prediction of 662-663 almost 40 chapters ahead of schedule and let me also remind you that people said the same thing about my prediction of both Minato's words in 631 AND about the mystery man being Kabuto.
Also, what is up with people claiming NaruSasu stole NaruSaku's Sun and Moon? I wasn't aware NaruSaku has anything to do with these two symbols and I thought Sakura's symbol was the Earth symbol of a ball within a circle. So what is this other thing and where did that come from?

I'm interested to see what Kishi intends to have Sakura do now.
With Naruto back on his feet and readying himself to take on Madara, what will Sakura be doing in the meantime? The only reason for her becoming mixed in with this exclusive fighting makeup is that Naruto needed someone to preserve his body before having his stolen bijuu replaced with the other half. Her obligation has been satisfied and now there's something of an occupational vacuum with her presence that'll be difficult to fill.
Sakura's medical skills could be put to use by healing Kakashi and Gaara, but those jobs wouldn't take too much time. Does she simply take the back seat and play the role of the passive observer again? Sasuke and his group aren't far away and Tenten is bound to arrive soon as well. How many of them will sit this out? Karin is likely to do so but what about Suigetsu and Juugo? They should easily be able to recognise the danger that challenging Madara presents but their loyalty to Sasuke (the latter moreso than the former) might compel them to go forward anyway. Although there's a chance that Sasuke would tell them to refrain from joining in.
Sidelining most of the two groups in order to feed even more spotlight to Naruto and Sasuke is a course of action that Kishi could easily take. If that's what the motive is then he might be better off having Sakura and Taka sent off to help against Spiral Zetsu (unless they chose to stay for healing). It would be a long-shot to say that Sakura might have overcome her panic around Madara in such a short amount of time and there's a possibility that Taka would be more trouble than they're worth.
Taking things into her own hands like she did in #631 would be amazing. Hoping for that would be one of the biggest anticipations of the fight, I think. Naruto and Sasuke certaintly don't strike quite as much interest with some fans like they used to.
In the current moment she's being a pairing fodder i dont know what he intends to do with her but she's being put aside with Karin.
I dont expect nothing from the heroine of the manga i think Kishi already give up on her character, that inteview when he said that she slipped on his mind it's kinda obvious he doesnt have much on his sleeve to develop her character aside from romance.

Don't know if this is addressing what I say but I was referring to pairing most of the time we get surprise by some pairing moment so we tend to expect a follow up but Kishi does something that make no sense at all.
When it comes to the events in the Manga many of us are point blanc, but in some way is not the same with the pairings around 85% or maybe more of the times we are wrong with our expectation on NS, NH, SK and SS.
So to make myself clear I was talking about potential pairing moment follow up that are so obvious but Kishi suddenly give us a curveball.
By the Way I missed you Too James.

There is nothing strange about the scene. You think there is, because contrarily to the tough faces some of you are putting up, the truth is all of you expected more from this moment.
The main pairing, with the hero and the heroine resolved off panel or in flashback? That's ridiculous.

But hasn't all pairing moments for all potential pairing couples been nothing, but curve balls? Did you guys really expect something different? I am not disappointed Kishi didn't put in an NS moment. I am actually interested to see if he purposely left something out for later use. It is not the first time Kishi did this and really I feel it. There is at least scenes missing that don't quite make sense. It might be brought up later down the road.
By the Way I miss you Too James.
Thanks?

So Guy escapes death and Naruto is pretty much god now,oh...okay. More flashblacks with more parallels. Chapter was nothing special, but I'm looking forward to how Team Taka will handle Spiral Zetsu, if they decide to. I also wonder how the SA are doing and by SA, I mean the Konoha shinobi. Honestly I'm tired of these panels paralleling Sakura with Karin. Same goes for Hinata too. If Sakura gets a panel, there's always some....side chick juxtaposed by her. She's being grouped with pairing fodder, she's better than that, Kishi. As for what's next for Sakura, she won't play a part in taking down Madara imo; nothing in her arsenal suggests otherwise. Unfortunately, the only thing I see from her is healing up Guy and the others. Better than I can say for others because pretty soon I think anyone who isn't Naruto, Sasuke, or Madara at this point will not be the stars of this fight.

NS was ever represented by Sun and Moon in this series? At any time? I can't recall Kishimoto ever making that link.
That's what a lot of people keep saying now all of a sudden. I am not sure where this came from.

I find it pretty weird that Naruto just woke up, with Obito, the one who started the war, founded akatsuki, killed his friends, on his left saving him and Sakura with litteraly her hand in his chest grabbing his hearth on his right, oh and not to mention he is on the Kamui world and dosen't know sh**t about where he is, but he seem's to don't care about all that and went straight foward to the action without saying a word...

I'm not really convinced that he's skirting around the issue. The endgame is already very obvious, it's too late to keep the suspense. I honestly don't think that the majority of the Naruto fans in Japan think NH as a plausible endgame pairing anymore (must ask Megi's opinion though). In other words, to keep skirting around the issue has no effect whatsoever and it only makes NS look like a badly developed pairing if everything is only going to get resolved at the very end.I didn't think too much about a reunion scene before this, but I was curious to see how it would be resolved.
However, I have never thought there would be an NS scene here (no matter how much I would like to see one). Although I think Sakura's tear in the panel is Kishimoto's one concession to them as the end pairing. Karin didn't get that, and the images are set up to be parallel.
My reasons for not expecting an NS scene are this (and actually it has a lot to do with Kishi keeping in line with NS as the final pairing): if he gave a romantic-y scene to NS, he would have to keep the balance and put something in for NH, to keep up the fan momentum until the end. SasuKarin has been shown as a pairing for convenience sake, but I don't see it as a parallel. But by skirting an NS reunion, then Kishimoto also gets a free pass from having to create an NH scene to keep the peace with that fanbase. And the forward momentum toward a grand NS reunion at the end doesn't get slowed down.
Unfortunately, I don't think we'll get another true NS scene till the end. Maybe some independent scenes, maybe some hints, but nothing concrete. I just don't think the focus is going to be on shipping anymore. I'd like to be surprised, and Kishi does love to bury shipping moments in random chapters when no one's expecting it, but I just think from here on out it's going to be the Naruto-and-Sasuke-Show!
Loved the illustration on the last page of Naruto's eyes. Kishi has really delivered some nice illustrations of Naruto lately, and I'm looking forward to these final battles for some more great artwork from him.
On another note, I just added a pair of dual blades in "A Voice in the Wind" fanfic...and their names are Sun and Moon. *sigh* Now it looks like I knocked them off from this chapter! lol

remember during gaara's saga in the first page? It was similar to this situation. Naruto did everythinf for saving Sakura but Kishi never showed her awakening and let her to know what Naruto did for her. Then Kishi made a flashback regarding when Sasuke said her what Naruto did for saving her.
Yeah that's true. That why I still have some hope...

I don't understand that first one and why would they say that if the power is finally addressed on that moment, but ok. As for this part, well, Bijuus has been foreshadowing for too long, so I can't argue. When there's nothing behind it and if it's the first time ever, then yeah, ass pull. Pretty much Itachi's last power and arguably though I will say yeah Madara's susanoo are among them, though for Itachi, if you know myth, you would say you saw it coming. Still, a hint or something would be nice. And That susanoo should be explained.I'm a bit surprised that after many people complained of Sakura's power-up as ass-pull when when she has trained three whole years of it, not many people seems to have a problem with Naruto and Sasuke being handed a power-up just by sleeping.

I am sure that he's trying to fit Sakura into the role of Naruto's wife (not love interest, not heroine, but wife) with the way he has carefully constricted the parallels of Kushina/Sakura. And I think that is precisely the reason why we don't have any lovey dovey scenes or Sakura heroine moment scene. It's because Sakura is portrayed as a typical (Japanese) wife/partner who supports her working husband in the background (ex. Healing). In Japanese, there is a saying called 内助の功. It's a word meaning the "achievement of a woman supporting her husband in the background leading him to his success". In Japan, people believe that behind every successful man there is this type of wife. Whenever I see the way he portrays Sakura, this is the word I instantly come up with because it's obvious Kishi praises these types of women and his wife is one of them as well. But damn, if this is what Sakura will be relegated to, I prefer she be portrayed as the heroine instead, even at the cost of NaruSaku not happening. I liked her character as Sakura, not as Naruto's wife like Kishi is trying to portray her to be.
Man, why to bring me down with that. But I can't help feeling that there's at least some truth to this. And I agree, if I had the choice I would much rather Sakura actually be able to fill a real, active heroine role than to be diminished like this, even if it meant NaruSaku didn't happen. I was a Sakura fan way before I ever liked NS, after all.

Yeah that's true. That why I still have some hope...
We still have some hope? For quite I while I already made up my mind that NS is the final pairing and the only thing will change my mind if another pairing happen on panel and not because another fan say that another pairing will happen.
Other fans could use my words against me but I believe that we got so many hints and the latest one for me was when Hinata failed to arrive at Naruto's location and Kishimoto making up some silly excuses to make Sakura the only available person to assist him.

You see We in the west believe that woman should be measure the same way mens are measure and we should always label them as equal that believe is even more supported by womens, but for some reason that isn't the same believe people have about Womens in Asia and now that I was very close to them this last contract I find out that that there are countries where it's even worst but I won't give any detail about anyone of those culture on any forum.
