Overall another good setup chapter.
I liked Obito and Kakashi finally reuniting. I liked Obitio coninuing on his path to redemption.
I liked the fact the Sakura maintained her composure even though she was scared. Everyone gets scared. It's how you respond to it that counts. She had good reason to be too. She saw some of the strongest shinobi she knew get owned in half a heartbeat. She's nearly out of chakra and couldn't move for fear of letting Naruto die.
The story progressed, even with flashbacks.
We also got our second straight chapter with a possible Obito/Rin NaruSaku parallel.
The only thing that I didn't like was that Kakashi's wound from the previous chapter magically disappeared.
Next week Madara will probably be preoccupied with guy, so I doubt he will follow Obito. I knew Guy might be in trouble with the out of the blue comedic moments two chapters ago. It would be cool to see the eighth gate though.
Two possibilities for next week.
1. Naruto is revived and black Zetsu is destroyed in the process. Black Zetsu has been keeping Obito alive, so he probably won't last long. Either he talks with Sakura before Naruto wakes up or he talks to Naruto as they cross paths passing between life and death. I like the later, as he might urge Naruto to live without regrets referring to Rin and thus progressing the parallel. Then there are the questions. If Naruto does wake up, what kind of shape will he be in? With him no longer in danger, how will Sakura react. Or more importantly, if he wants to throw himself back into danger, how will she react? Will the fear revealed in this chapter affect her reaction? Will Obito send them back? Will Kakashi bring them back? Or, will Minato be able to follow using the mark he placed on Obito now that the ten tails chakra has left him? Would that be the opportunity for him to help Naruto complete "that jutsu?" If any of this happens, I suspect the next volume moves to Sauske and team Taka.
2. Naruto dies. Sakura begins to lose hope and lets her emotions begin to come to the surface. Obito refuses to give up. Naruto meets the 6 paths. If this happens there will probably be some very interesting flashbacks and revelations in the next volume.
Though I acknowledge that it is a possibility. I really hope Naruto does not get the Rinegan for two reasons.
1. Naruto has relied on on his own strength and the strength of his friends throughout the story. The six paths used the power of the Rinegan to tame the 10 tails and create the individual tailed beasts. After that point ocular jutsu became portrayed as a short cut to power. If Naruto is going to walk in the footsteps of the 6 paths and be the host to all the tailed beasts, it should be because they believe in him because he is Naruto.
2. Sauske can then receive the Rinegan and the playing field will be leveled for their final battle, very reminiscent of the conclusion of Part 1. The eyes of the 6 paths vs the soul of the 6 paths, that would be interesting.
Speaking of Part 1, I find it interesting that the last time that Naruto was in this kind of trouble was during the Sanin fight just before his first battle with Sauske. It would be interesting if this time, Sakura would be watching Naruto leave in the dead of night instead of Sauske. I don't think her character or her faith in Naruto would allow her to plead with him not to go as she did with Sauske, but it might make for an interesting scene. She will know she can't stop him, but truths might be revealed if they both acknowledge the possibilty that he may not return.
