IIRC, in open heart surgery, often the surgeon will use a scalpel that burns where it cuts. That seals the blood quite easily.

 

 

That's what I'm hoping for. I can't wait to see Naruto's face when he learns the lengths that Sakura went to keep him alive.

And Karin. I was amazed and dumbfounded by her feats at the same time. Does that mean Naruto would awaken that chain power too..? And Kushina said she had special chakra.. not so special afterall.. Unless Naruto doesn't have it. but woo Karin sure is badass!

Mouth to mouth is not romantic.  But what people forget is that she was giving him mouth to mouth while holding his heart in her hands, while reaching for his heart.  There’s symbolism in that people.  With Sakura, the person who was in love with another character reaching for the heart of the man who loves her, it illustrates her changing feelings.  That’s why super duper Naruto-verse CPR is different from the chakra transfer hand-hold (this matches Sakura's story arc over the manga, the hand-hold spoke of comfort and did not call to Naruto's manga-long character arc).

 

Now, excuse me while I continue to rage about the indication that Minato killed Kushina (out of ignorance or not, it pisses me off).

I mean maybe I'm looking to much into it, but isn't that a clear indication that she wants to stay by his side? That she shares his dream ?

I was to busy looking at the intense moment, I forgot to read the fine print. 

 

That being said, it probably has some indication, if not at least cements she truly cares more for Naruto then what her haters believe. But still, she's wanted to see him accomplish his dream since the Chunin Exams, so it's nice to see that come up again (the supporting his dream thing)

She doesn't want his dream to get crushed. She supports him. It's funny because recently Sasuke talked about becoming Hokage. I totally see her siding with Naruto and defending his dream.

Yeah, it reminds me of when 631 came out.
 
But we have to be objective, what's cool about this chapter is not Sakura giving Naruto CPR, it's that she's going to a lot of lengths to keep him alive. All while reminding him of his "stupid dream" to be Hokage.
 
It's less about romance and more about how Sakura can be a proper heroine when Kishi gives her the chance, and how her dedication to Naruto shows that she's indeed a good partner for him.

Yeah, that "stupid dream" thing really echoes the tenth question scene.

I'm sure hes gonna have something to say about her keeping him alive long enough to get the other kyuubi half. I wanna see how Naruto responds when he awakens. To know that Gaara and Sakura did what they did, particularly Sakura. I can see a teary smile from her sort of like the ova.

I was expecting a breakdown of sorts to be honest but she handled herself. She's constantly showing how great of a heroine she is.

Ugh, I really hope Naruto learns the lengths Sakura went to keep him alive. It would be perfect. But Naruto almost always misses the biggest Saku-->Naru moments.

Well we learned a lot this chapter, we learned that Kushina, could've been saved and we learned that the rest of Taka is as haxxed as Sasuke is, Karin can use the same technique Kushina could, Suigetsu knows the Second Mizukage's Water Gun Jutsu, and Juubo is Stretch Armstrong.

 

I have no idea who that is by Sasuke but I know it's not Madara, because Madara now has Black Leggings, it could be someone from Taka, but I haven't seen if any of them are barefoot, come to think of it, it could be the Tsuchikage, he is missing a shoe after all.

 

Did anyone else notice that there was someone inside Spiral Zetsu?

People are saying it is Yamato.

I know that CPR isn't romantic, but what I liked was the emotion that Kishi put into the scene, showing the lengths Sakura is willing to go for Naruto. Anyone who says she doesn't care about him at all in any way is just choosing to be blind to it.

 

I mean, we did get a small victory - Sakura did go out and say that she can't let Naruto die, so... yeah. Be happy :)

 

And also, remember what Kishi went through just recently - perhaps that's why his style is off a little bit...

Okay first....I have to make the joke since no one else has

Yeah, even I am going to say that this is CPR and not a real kiss. However, that doesn't mean that this is an emotionless scene. Remember a while ago when I said that NaruSaku is made up of those little moments that might not seem so grand on the surface but in actuality are the most important? This is the granddaddy of all of them. This is as far as you can get without being officially canon. That makes this scene VERY powerful so take this as a victory guys. Not a defeat.

I wasn't expecting anything more than this yet. Still the fact that Sakura is this concerned....the fact that she is fighting for him as hard as she can...means that she really does love him more than anyone. You know, if Sakura was doing this to Sasuke or if Hinata was doing this to Naruto....the other fandoms would be celebrating right now and saying how much their pairing is canon.

We also have Karin unleashed because of Sasuke and her love for him. The power of love can be a powerful thing and maybe helped her tapped into abilities she never knew before. Like I said, manga do this all the time where the female fight out of the power of love and does what she can, Sometimes even not knowing that she is doing it. That is how strong it can be.

This is a victory and I know this gravy train is going to keep going with more NS goodness and more emotion. As for Sakura not just bawling over Naruto dying....yeah I don't want her to. She is NOT Hinata. She is NOT just going to give up on him like that. She knows she can do it or die trying to save him. That is true love. Nothing else is as powerful.

Tobi guy? I am saying it is Yamato or at least Yamato's body being used like a puppet.

Nice to see Suigetsu do some cool moves again.

Bare feet? It would be funny if it was Kabuto who finally changed his ways.

Consider this a victory, I do.

As for whether or not Kushina would have lived....remember she was giving birth...which is a trial in itself. You don't know if it could have done something more to weaken her body. Naruto doesn't have that problem.

You know....  Gaara is one of the few people who knows that Naruto loves Sakura.  He was there, back in Part I, when Gamakichi called Sakura his girlfriend, and Gaara knows better than anyone to what lengths Naruto was willing to go -- emotionally and physically -- to save Sakura's life.

 

It's interesting that he's the one there to see it the other way around.  I wonder if Gaara will say something to her, or Naruto at some point, about their feelings for each other.

I, for one, laid my heart down on the line knowing this chapter would have a moment of two of sorts (can't stop this heart thing now XD)

 

Here we're taking about Sakura going the distance, yet Karin has somehow become a force herself. I mean I'm not by any means a SasuKari fan, but that's some intense stuff there.  

 

There's quite a bit of emotional baggage that comes with her fierce determination to reach Sasuke in time, but you can't help but be taken aback by what was just seen from her. I mean where did this amazing ability that defeated Shinsuusenju come from when not even the concerted efforts of the Kages could destroy it? If it's an Uzumaki trait then why didn't she use it previously against Bee or Danzo when they were about to kill Sasuke? The feat is just so unbelievably contrived coming from Karin that she comes across as irritably stunning (if that makes sense).

I never said he cared about the pairing war. But the romance of the story is an important unresolved subplot that is brought up again and again in the series, and I doubt Kishimoto will just make a pairing canon at this point of the story.

 

I'm the advocate for Not Being Optimistic. I'm the person who appears in every chapter thread to tell people not to have their hopes up too high. But I am also realistic; if I think something is significant from a literary perspective, I will point it out.

 

I am optimistic about the possibility of this event being mentioned in the future. Especially with Gaara watching.

 

In that case then I agree with you that aspect. There is a romantic sub-plot in the story, and it something Kishi has to address. He already address Hinata's feelings, and may go back to those feelings if he choses to expand on Naruto and Hinata's relationship (and make NH canon, which, after typing it down, comes off more of a stretch than I thought). Yet he hasn't address the other elephant in the room, essentially the Team 7 love triangle. Whatever feelings fans have towards Naruto and Sakura's relationship (you could see platonic or romantic), Kishi still need to address things about their dynamic before the manga could end. He hasn't made Sakura's feelings clear in a LONG TIME, so whatever couple that he plans to make canon in the end (either NS or SS) he still needs to make that aspect clear to fans. Whatever if chapter is any indication of that actually happening is up to readers interpretation at this moment, at least until more chapters come out. However, in my bias NS mind, I just want to point out that Kishi has Sakura do all these things for Naruto, yet doesn't focus much on her thoughts on Sasuke dying. It doesn't matter if there is any romantic overtones in Sakura's attempts to save Naruto, Kishi had her feelings mostly focus on Naruto.

I just thought about that. Haha gotta love where his relationship with Naruto went. It's pretty damn awesome. I thiml he'll say something to Naruto about it i it's not brought up.

I feel like Minato is gonna tell sakura to continue to tak care of Naruto and watch over him. Lol

I really liked this chapter.    I didn't view the CPR kiss as romantic, but Sakura is absolutely showing her determination to keep Naruto and his dream alive!

 

How can anyone call Sakura "useless" after all the development she's shown in the manga, and now this chapter?  She is keeping Naruto alive with absolutely everything she has, and she's refusing to break down and cry while there is still hope.

 

This was a very personal development in Naruto and Sakura's bond, and I can't wait to see more next week. 

 

Karin, well, she certainly pulled that out of nowhere.  It 100% confirms that she is an Uzumaki, but how is she related to Naruto?  I'm not a fan of her character development throughout the manga because she feels all over the place, and too many things happen without explanation.

 

But, hey, at least Taka are on their way to help Sasuke, and they'll meet that mysterious person walking towards him.  I keep racking my brain to come up with who it could be, but I can't think of anything at this time of morning. 

 

It's also good to see that Yamato may have been found!  I was beginning to think he had been forgotten.    It makes sense, because Spiral Zetsu is using Mokuton, which is a rare bloodline ability of Hashirama's.

Yeah, lots of parallel scenes in this chapter.

It would make sense if Gaara pointed out their love for each other... Because of everything you said, and he has the kanji for love in his name, and carved on his forehead.

If Kishi really didn't know how to defeat Madara before , I really am curios how he is going to go about it now . There are already jokes about Madara being  so OP that not even his creator can kill him and now he gives another huge power up .  I laughed at the way he made him wonder about  the sage's power  as if disappointed  .  Naruto and Sasuke MUST get some sort of power up , there's just no other way . Even if it will be just another talk jutsu , they have to be able to put up a fight to be able to get Madara in the position to be subdued by talk jutsu  ...

 

Loved the way Sakura is trying her best to save Naruto even if she is out of chakra and I for one am happy that the chiyo jutsu will not be used . As for the real romantic moment,  I expect that to happen once Naruto is revived and ok , she will most likely cry and hug him then  . Maybe also also give him the typical love bump on the head for being reckless once again and almost getting himself killed .
