Its disappointing and enraging at the same time, if you have a job at translating do in objectively ,why give people false hopes? Its just gonna hurt more in the end ..

This chapter did nothing for me...I'm tired of flashbacks but Sakura possiblities of having sage mode is higher.

lol...Typical Sasuke powerup, he gets his powers as freebies and gets praised for it, yet Naruto has to actually train to master his yet gets mocked and called weak all the time...Seriously it's getting old, while it's not surprising Sasuke can use Senjutsu, when Juugo's power were revealed to be Senjutsu it became a possible option, but really this freebie is becoming a pain, Also it's not fair on Sasuke, he has put in allot of training but all his add-ons appear to be freebies.
The chapter itself was kinda boring, it went to explain how the other villages got their Bijuu, (though not how Waterfall got one as well) which if i'm honest was a stupid plan, give them more power to destroy themselves, and to think Sand would give up a chance to get another Bijuu, it would have made more sense to have increased power for future revenue...also it made them weaker against the other villages if was broke out. We also know why Ichibi's histery mentioned him being sealed in a pot, unlike others, though you'd think considering they had a Bijuu sealed away the longest they'd know how to seal it inside a human but appears they were the worst, or it's because they didn't take help from the other villages that their sealing was so weak.

Would I be wrong in assuming the one on the left is a member of the same clan Juugo came from? (Explaining the Dragon Tatoo) and the one next to him looks allot like Orichimaru,I wonder if there is a story there or if it's just a conicidence.

Speaking about the kage meeting, we have seen that their bondguards are the second generation kages of their respective landes
There's Muu who is the first tsuchikage's convoy.
There's Tobirama who is the first hokage's convoy.
There's that black dude who is the first raikage's convoy. (Do you remember it? We have seen in a little flashback from Tsunade).
There's that bald-headed with a dragon tatoo on his right eyes who is the first kazekage's convoy. (we have seen his statue during the gaara's rescue saga. it's pretty simile despite it didn't have some tatoo on his face).
But that dude with black hairs and looks a lot Orochimaru surely isn't the second Mizukage because we've already seen him it's the troll kage of course. So who's this guy that resembles totally as Orochimaru? The future third Mizukage?

Also looking at the First Mizukage's teeth I would bet that he is related to Waterboy who is always arguing with Karin, Suigetsu? Maybe the guy in question is Orichimaru's father, (or grandfather) and he was the one who collected the DNA of all the Kages, and then fled during the war and sought asylum at Leaf.
Edit: Now it means thatthe Third Mizukage is the only Kage yet to be seen, and will unlikely see until Madara's flashback.

I know I'm late to the party, but this chapter was quite uneventful and rather boring. I'm slightly disappointed. I certainly was not expecting more unnecessary flashbacks. I was hoping that something major would've happened this chapter that would move the plot considerably forward, for it's about time this fight reached its climax and it's eventual end. Maybe next chapter I suppose :\.

I actually let out a yawn halfway through the chapter, just feels empty and short. I did like the senjutsu infused susanoo. A question; am I the only one who think Sasuke won't get a SM, but instead will go for CS2 again or maybe something even greater? Would be interesting to see what that would look like.
Imo, those flashbacks were completely unnecessary. All of that history, was just something that I had already assumed. I mean it was already established the 5 countries never really trusted each other. One thing I found pretty interesting out of this whole chapter and, I don't know if this has already been posted but, Hashirama conveying his thoughts/memories and feelings through Ino's jutsu was...interesting.

An okay chapter, but not really what I would consider worth a week long wait. I don't think it was really 'praise' Sasuke was getting, more like foreshadowing, there was a lot of Naruto/Sasuke and Hashirama/Madara paralleling going on here. Not anything new unfortunately. And I'm a bit disappointed there was no Sakura, but I'm patient.
Also did not appreciate the joke made out of Karin's stabbing, even if it is Suigetsu.
Hashirama was really the highlight of the chapter, he's a very endearing character. I just hope this doesn't signify that he's going to be the focus of the entire volume.

In all honesty, it's getting to where I can't stand the sight of Sasuke. Seriously. I've already had more than enough of his sickeningly smug face, but I know I have to get over it because he's going to be a fixture from now until the end.
I hope my stomach holds out. x__X
Yeah, Sasuke's a really uninteresting character. I liked him a lot better when he was crazy.

One thing I wanna bring up is that the first chapter in the volume is always a set up chapter, and the second/ and third chapter lead into the focus of a volume once the fourth chapter comes out. Remember with volume 66 how some of us thought that was gonna focus on Kakashi and Obito, and instead we got it dedicated to Team 7 once chapter 631 came out. Volume 67 had the same thing when we thought that Obito was gonna loose his insanity before he regained control in 640, but then it slowly focused on the relationship between Naruto and Minato once chapter 641 came out. So if my guess is correct, the same thing will apply with this volume as well. Which means we'll have to wait and see what the focus of this volume will be after 650.

It does feel empty, just didn't pull me in the way the last chapter did. I also think Sasuke will not gain SM, but some other variation, like a dark sage mode, if you will.
Yeah, I agree the flashbacks were unnecessary, it doesn't really tell us anything that wasn't already known.
And why do the translators keep having Naruto say 'Sasukeh', it's really annoying

we dont even see ino doing her thing anymore.
Naruto's heart was felt because he shared his chakra with everyone and Ino's jutsu was performing at that time. Hashirama doesn't share his chakra, and Ino is not performing her jutsu anymore to transfer his thoughts to everyone... it's just.... Kishi please...
I can't even say good bye to you for the last time

Bolded. Oh my god you have no idea how much that annoys me as well. It sounds like, "lol teh newb talk" Ugh. Just translate the name normally. Reading Sasuke's name like that makes my eyes bleed.

So about the bijuu part.
It's said that hashirama had all the bijuus minus one, then as to pressure hashirama to give them one bijuu otherwise they would declare war 4v1 when hashirama has 8 bijuus on his possession and could easily win the war against them and unite all the countires under the fire country but instead he decided to comply to avoid wars even accepted to give part of the wealthy land of the fire to the sand when the authority is the feudal lord but the hokage can give land?
I mean can the hokage give land that belongs to the feudal lord to others?
Who has more authority the hokage or the feudal lord?
I hope someome can clarify this to me.
From what I understood , the threat of 4 vs 1 war was made against the Kazekage , not against Hashirama . The Kazekage already had the 1 tail beast , so instead of another bijuu he demanded land from Hashirama , and 30% from the price that others would pay for their tailed beasts .
In any case , I was also under the impression that the feudal lord is the highest authority in his respective country , while the kage has authority in matters concerning the village only . But , then again , as we have seen in the Kage summit arc , they did inform their respective feudal lords of their intentions before the meeting , so it can be assumed that the 1st kages have done the same . And whatever they decided in that meeting , would have then been passed to their feudal lords for approval .
As far as the chapter goes , completely not what I was expecting after last week . Of course Sasuke gets the ass pull power up once again (more or less ) . He really should kiss Orochimaru's feet for reaching the level he is at right now , basically he is Orochimaru's most successful experiment .

I just realized that they didn't follow up with what happened to Shikamaru in this weeks chapter... Do you think they are going to follow it up next chapter now that Tsunade is here or do you think Sakura will heal him?
I believe that's the case for the next chapter because this chapter was settling two things: hype for Naruto vs. Sasuke as well as establishing the new generation of Hashirama and Madara, and Hashirama and others' dream.
The problem is that this chapter felt like one of those chapter that would have been accepted has this manga is a monthly series. In monthly one, they can have over 40 pages at times and this chapter would have flow nicely if it was all in one chapter. Separating them the way it is somewhat ruins the flow because if it was combined in a different setup, this chapter could have work much better. So this only loses some of the momentum. It's like you get one nice line from your girlfriend and the other guy exposition the line, so you only said, "You know, what she said was great. You killed it though..." Pretty much keep the flow going. So yeah, that's the problem.

To be honest, I think it would be better if Naruto were a monthly release manga. Yeah, the wait would be longer, but I suspect to chapters would feel a little more worthwhile and probably have a better continuity flow.

Sorry, I'm going to have to comment again on Team Taka or as I like to call them, Team Not-Seven; accept they've even lost this association. Suigetsu just admitted he knows that Sasuke tried to kill Karin. It's one thing to make light of Karin's feelings for Sasuke, but for someone to make light of the fact the teammate tried to kill her? Naruto would never be like "Ohohoho Sakura remember those two times Sasuke tried to kill you and almost succeeded? Preeeetty weeak huh?"
If we're to believe that Team Taka has any semblance of care for each other beyond plot contrivance, how can they just casually accept a moment like that? These constant jokes around Karin are not funny; they undermine everything about the team--all of their moments. Even if Karin redeems herself and has a moment in the upcoming chapters, even if Team Taka is shown standing side by side and supporting Sasuke, the fact that he joked about Karin almost dying still remains.
That punch this time was well deserved. I don't know why she bothers, but apparently her lust for Sasuke overshadows any development and common sense. At least Sakura smiles in a fake sort of way, and shows her conflict about his presence. Karin went from 'being done with him' and sometime between then and now forgets that she was ever done with him. Really; she has not had one serious moment since Sasuke tried to kill her.
Speaking of Sasuke, I haven't been convinced he's even on par with Madara. Orochimaru, you're forgetting that Madara doesn't need Juugo or a cursed seal in order to do what he does. It's true, a lot of power comes from the bijuu when it comes to Naruto's achievements, but unlike Sasuke we see Naruto unfolding. There was once a time Sasuke was a believable adversary, but as a reader I'm no longer convinced that he has a place here, too.
On another note, I really do like the 2nd. At least he's consistent, realistic and feels like he has hokage potential rather than Naruto's infamous 'talk-no-jutsu' qualities which are essentially to be as cheesy and heartwarming as possible. Crying during a meeting, really? What is with Kishimoto and trying to inject humour in tense situations lately? I think there was a 'joke' for the last four chapters. Is he worried the audience is getting tired of the drama? This is the climax of the story! XD

Funny how Sasuke's side was about being stronger than Madara one day as Naruto is about why he's the most likeable guy as well as being similar to Hashirama in every fashion. It's like what I always said, Madara/Sasuke was always about the best and the rivalry of (former) best friend, as Hashirama/Naruto was always about keeping the bond with that man, as well as having huge dreams in a big world. For whatever reason, that tells me something.
