The point isn't that NaruSaku won't happen, its just that right now there is no way it could be as fulfilling as it was meant to be. Kishi had slowly developed Naruto and Sakura together since the 1st chapter, which is what makes them such a good couple, unfortunately putting so much random emphasis on Naruto and Hinata's relationship will really hurt the outcome of NS, just because it won't be as meaningful now.

Just have to see where it goes from here.

And exactly HOW would this make narusaku any less meaningful?

It's just to keep the interest Kishi generated with that chapter. By ratcheting up the shipping wars, Kishimoto reinvigorated the NH fanbase, and probably added a lot more readers/viewers. And he did so at a time when the manga was about to go into a major flashback arc.

It reignited the fans' interest at a time when it was about to go into a shipping deadzone. NS-ers are going to stay through to the end. But there wasn't much reason for NH-ers to keep on reading. Until the hand-holding chapter. And giving NH a bump with a cover just reinforces that shipping tension. Now NH shippers have a reason to hang on until the very end too. (And by giving NH a push, SS gets a secondary push as well.)

But in retrospect, with the slow flash-back pace focusing on non-main characters, it was definitely a good place to focus on NH. Now those readers/shippers are reinvested in the story...a story which doesn't look like it's going to be going back to Hinata anytime soon.

NaruSaku is a pairing that was developed originally as one of Naruto's goals. A romance that Naruto would eventually achieve. However if Kishi randomly pushes another romance that has shallow development like NH, then its almost defeats the purpose of Naruto trying soo hard to get the girl.

This arc with NaruHina will probably be concluded soon, and that will likely be the end of it, but still, NaruSaku just won't feel as special.... unless Kishi can really do something incredible before the end.

Yeah, definitely. It's all about marketing. But I'm still not happy about it haha.

I like that bit about NS-ers being here until the end. It's so true. smile.gif

I think Hinata was a test for Naruto. Does he trully love Sakura? Would he take the easy way out and go out with Hinata? Thats one of his trials. And it may as well be the purpose of her character.

My response to this would be, don't fall for the 1st one comes your way or don't fall for a weird one, both translation apply to Hinata.

Hinata is the easy choice or Hinata is the weird one anyhow you look on it she is the one Kushina told Naruto not to chose so lets see how this develop.

So people are flipping out over a cover of a volume? It's a volume. It's what happened recently so I don't understand what the problem is. It's not like it's deciding the end game. This does however prove that she got a ton of time in the recent chapters and what's more, the side characters were shafted for her. sleep.gif He makes her way more relevant than she should be IMO, but whatever.

Anyway, I'm not worried. You all shouldn't be worried either.

Jk. Haha StriderC now you know what i ment yesterday.

LOL That's not everyone though. tongue.gif

Also, some people make good points. I'm not done reading but I do agree when it come to Kishi and his writing. He does okay at writing females, and it does seem that Sakura's been demoted to pairing fodder. It's one thing I dislike actually. She's the heroine, and yet, we don't see her parents. I don't mind that she started out normal. I liked that, and I felt that that would push her to become a stronger ninja. You make her a genjutsu type and touch down on it briefly. She's an easy learner and she has amazing chakra control. She gets medical ninjutsu, and super strength and she also get analytical skills. Instead of progressing her more, you halt her and you halt her in ways that are upsetting. She hasn't had a decent fight since the Rescue Gaara arc. And then, now as someone else has said, she's been reduced to pairing fodder... It's true. I love Sakura to bits, but I'm not gonna deny that this is what it is. It's quite sad...

Wow so admittedly this cover doesn't give me warm and fuzzy feelings.....however I don't see warm or fuzzy feelings in the art either. Now the pic is small but from what I see Naruto's face looks determined while Hinata looks sad and unsure. This in my opinion is in no way romantic. Kishi gives a lot of detail to facial expressions and, while the image is a bit hazy, I don't see any expression on Naruto's face that would be similar to the "soft" adoring looks we've seen from him in regards to Sakura or from Sakura to him. We can even throw in the one sided looks Hinata throws to Naruto that have yet to be returned.

No, I see proof stronger than ever that this is NOT the end pairing. The first place shippers go is to the handhold.... but 5 hour energy flying Neji tongue.gif raising up between the two of them is the emphasis here. Hinata looks unsure here much the way she has been the entire manga. She's holding Naruto's hand achieving her goal of being on par with him and he looks as if he's reassuring her Neji's death is not in vain.....I get the whole lets avenge Neji vibe from Naruto I don't see romance here just what we already know .... Goal of acknowledgement: done .....Naruto realizes he's not fighting his battles alone: done.....baiting naruhina fans back after the blow from the movie: done! heheelq7.png

Hinata's role of getting Naruto to realize there are others around him who care about him is now over. What Naruto does with this I can't say....but I believe he will be more aware of the bonds with his other close friends which includes Hinata. Sure Hinatas in love with him and his strong hands more than ever, but I think all it will take is one panel that depicts Sakura in danger to show Naruto's desperation to keep her safe. Sakura is his most important person, I think if Hinata observes this she will stop her infatuation and strive to honor Neji's memory by becoming the Hyuuga clan's leader, a role no one thought she was fit for. To my recollection Hinata has never seen Naruto in all out protect Sakura mode.....I may be wrong. I see Hinata gracefully stepping aside to allow for Naruto's happiness, leading her family, and possibly getting a hidden love confession of her own from that nameless Hyuuga bodyguard that follows her around..... It could happen....or Nejihina if Kishi asspull resurrects everyone again.

I think people flip because the focus of cover is NH hand holding.

Errrmmm, why I have a feeling this will end up like who is tobi and who is pain.

I believe the next NS moment will triump it.

We don't need to worry about the next cover, it's obviously going to have assume, hashirama, and Madura, next volume is based on the current flashback, other than that, why cry over the cover, we know what happens in 616, it's just a friendship moment.

Also yes, we will get Sakura stuff with naruto, if there is anything that will be done with her development, it's when it comes to sasuke, even then after this fight with the ten tails, it's not hard to imagine that the alliance will have to make a retreat, I mean the ten tails could go dormant, coccoon itself, and mature leaving Madara to use his amazing trolling powers to drive them all away, then Sakura could approach naruto at any point before, during, or after the fight with sasuke, basically naruto and Sakura interaction can occur anytime after the current battle, but its granted to happen when it comes to sasuke, one thing we like about this pairing is how they endure many trials, and both naruto and Sakura have concerns for sasuke and each other. Both have had concern about notions of happiness and pain on each other, naruto and Sakura will have interaction again, the focus will shrink down to team 7 eventually so Nh can get the fill now, we will get ours later, I mean minor character development or wrap ups come first, main characters last, this means naruto and sasuke are last for development. Naruto and Sakura will get their interaction, as one wise person told me about 615 when it first came, do not be discouraged team 7 still has not had its resolution, anything other than that and calling this canon now would be giving up. There's hope until things say otherwise.

This isn't really the time to attack people for "panicking". They have reason to be worried, especially with something like this.
