And I still question to this day, why is it STILL living... Its like that analogy I did before 540, SS is a zombie, trying to revive itself because of the fans while we and Kishimoto trying to kill it to death, striving itself to find eternal youth.

Yeah, even when they know that the fountain of Youth was buried under the Spanish on the fourth chapter of the Pirates of the Caribbean epic.

So far the only pairings still alive are NS and NH and the war is even...but is not looking to good for neither side either, considering that Naruto promised Sasuke both will end up dead, for me that is the nail on the coffin on every single Naruto and Sasuke related pairing.

Hmm, maybe I'm wrong, but I guess I didn't really take Naruto's line as foreshadowing as much as I took it as him stating the worst case scenario. I mean, if Kishi can't bring himself to kill off supporting characters like Neji, Choji, and Hinata, I really doubt he's going to kill off the titular character of the series. Sasuke might die, but I only see that happening after a big sacrificial scene and a five chapter redemption conversation with Team 7. So I don't really think there's any nails in the NaruSaku coffin yet, and NaruHina's such an ignored pairing I don't even think it warrants a coffin.

Its still alive and well. I mean the shipping...so far neither side has any hold on cannon on the manga.
Maybe not...but i think the coffin is on both pairings. It hasn't been nailed yet though.

I took that as more of Naruto saying, "If I can't stop/redeem/save you, then I will take you down and go with you," not promising that they would die together.
Though yes, Naruto and Sasuke's bond sort of overshadows all other bonds in the series for the emphasis that Kishi gives it. Still, NaruSaku overshadows NH in a very similar manner. Naruto and Hinata's relationship hasn't grown since the chuunin exams, unlike Naruto's and Sakura's which has been growing stronger gradually over the course of the manga - their bond is the least stagnant one in the entire series, imo.
So despite agreeing that NaruHina is still "alive" and has a chance, I think it's incredibly slim in comparison to NaruSaku's chances - which the overall direction and history of the story supports. Their bond simply gets zero emphasis and focus - any focus on NaruHina is about Hinata's character - where's the Naruto in NaruHina other than the blood oath and his "I really like people like you," line in the chuunin exams, neither of which were ever referenced to in the story again?
Agreed

If anything, I am holding out for the FMA ending, where it's "oh here they are five years from now and look they have a kid."
For that, you can bet we have a Naru/Saku ending. It has the least ends to tidy up.

No worries about that, romance in Naruto has played even a stronger a plot point as romance did in Inuyasha, much more than in FMA. Not just two couples like in Inuyasha either, there's been a lot of romances in Naruto. Probably because Kishimoto in part 2 has heightened the emphasis the theme is a struggle of love and peace over power and vengeance.

I'm holding out for the FMA ending, where Ed and Winry exchange the equivalent of marriage vows.
(<snark>That check-to-cheek hug on page 104 is obviously a brother-sister hug, just like Sakura's in chapter 450.</snark>)

It's funny, because Ed and Winry remarked on multiple occasions that they saw each other as brother and sister. Looks like the anti-NS 'brother-sister' argument has some holes in it, LOL.

Im glad someone pointed out the EdWin big win as cannon. Considering that is one of the few pairings that can be compared to our pairing.

Yeah I remember that. That is also the reason why I felt like I had to give my two cents on this. I simply needed to vent. What irritates me most about this pairing war is that you can't go anywhere and search for, say Naruto fanart or videos, without having to wade through all this biased pairing crap. Chapter 540 was the perfect example of this. Im just speculating here, but I reckon that its only going to take one Youtube search to come up with at least 50 pro-NH or pro-SS videos proclaiming how "NS is dead!!!1!1!11one!!!1!".

I know im probably gonna get alot of flak for this, but SS doesn't bother me nearly as much as NH does. Sure, Sasuke is indeed a murderous, batsh*t insane prick. But he doesn't hold a candle to what some of these "rabid" NH cans can conjure up.
As far as I see it there are 4 types of NH fans:
1. The normal kind (Also known as the good kind

2. The Sakura haters (Also known as the rabid fans): These are NH fans who, for various reasons, hates Sakura with a burning passion and who constantly goes on and on about how what a dumbass Naruto is for not noticing how perfect and sweet Hinata is and how Sakura totally doesn't deserve him because she's a mean abusive b*tch who's is obviously still in love with Sasuke. Therefore they also blatantly refuse to acknowledge that Sakura has changed at all and that she is still just a weak little "Sasuke fangirl".

3. The Hinata vs. Sakura fans: These share all the characteristics of the above (with the expection of the "normal" fans), except for the fact that their biggest wish is for Hinata to go totally OOC and beat the hell out of Sakura for "playing with Naruto's feelings"!.

4. The NS/NH Shippers: These are, in my opinion, the worst kind of NH fans. While these fans also share's alot of traits with the Sakura haters and to a lesser extent, the Hinata vs. Sakura fans. However the worst trait about these is that, while they certaintly are rabid NH fans, they also like the thought of NaruSaku. Not the pairing itself, but the idea of Sakura actually falling in love with Naruto. However, this is only so that they can later have the gratification of laughing in her face when Naruto turns her down and then starts dating Hinata. However this is only her rightful punishment for being a realistic 12 year old girl and later a strong, yet also fragile and emotional young woman with flaws and insecurities.

Okay okay, so I know that you can't really lump all NH fans together like that. Like I stated with the first "type" there are sensible NH fans. I have met quite a lot of them myself and they are totally nice and decent people. They just support a different couple.

Also that sort of "rabid" behaviour is by no means exclusive so NaruHina fans, oh no. There are definetly also rabid SasuSaku fans AND NaruSaku fans.
Its just that I recently read a Naruto fanfic in which Sakura laments the fact that she never paid any attention to Naruto and was mean to him and that now when she has actually fallen for him, he has already moved on and are now going out with Hinata. The author wasn't even a NaruHina fan or anything. In fact she had wrtitten plenty of fics with other pairings (including NaruSaku). But still, even though there were people who defended Sakura (including me) most of the reviewers simply said that they enjoyed the thought of Sakura being sad and that seeing her in pain pleased them greatly, and not to sound like a prude or anything, but that sort of thinking just downright disgusts me. I mean its bad enough to blatantly ignore fact, wanting to have two girls who are probably friends in canon fight eachother (over a boy of all things), but enjoying someone being in emotional pain is just...yuck!
Sorry for my little rant here. I hope I haven't managed to piss to too many people here with this. But I just needed to get this out there.
