Chapter 540

I thought about something too. This has happened at least 2 times in the past. SasuSaku gets ahead, but then falls back. NaruHina gets ahead, but then falls back. NaruSaku gets way ahead and then falls back slightly.
This is happened before and will probably happen a few more times in the future. Next time we will see NaruSaku get a boost and SasuSaku make a back seat.
Here is the thing, again you need to have both parties in a relationship care lovingly about each other. Sasuke loves noone and because of thi SasuSaku can;t happen. No, he is not being manipulated because Madara told him the truth about Itachi and even said he didn't want Sasuke to be evil and yet Sasuke is still evil. That's not manipulation. Then not only do we have him trying to kill Sakura, but he almost killed Karin who, if not for Sakura, she would be dead and we know she was madly in love with him.
We also have the fact that Ino was also in love with Sasuke. What about that pairing? It counts.
Then you got Naruto who has shown no interest in Hinata for the entire manga. Not even one tiny clue. Not even one remote notion and no, him supporting her in the Chunnin exams doesn't count. That's more of him being a friend because like Hinata he knows what it is like to be under-minded.
Then you got NaruSaku. Both of which have numerous moments through out the entire manga. NUMEROUS development and it's hanging on the edge of the canon cliff. One little push in the right direction and it would be canon for sure.
I realized this is Kishimoto being a troll, but not against any specific pairing. It's against all pairings. He was to shift everyone's POV because he wants to keep everyone guessing.
Like many have said, the manga is not over yet.

Alright people... For future reference, if anyone ends a statement with "Narusaku cannot happen" or other similar statements before the end of the manga, ignore it. They're trolling. They're TRYING to make you angry/upset. Don't feed trolls by responding to them.

Fare thee well, Albert, my friend."

Only one thing to say to this.
But seriously, let's cool it with the bashing. There's no reason to act so upset over one panel, and the fact that an NHer is jumping to such conclusions proves how desperate the shipping wars have become on their side.

That clip is incredibly funny
Back on topic, @NaruHinaFan, what proof, all I saw was a grieving Sakura

First off, I'd like to say that we're finally seeing Sakura in action! This makes me happy because I've been waiting for that since the war started. In terms of ninja skills, Sakura has always been a great thinker and strategist. Her handling of Neji and figuring out Zetsu's deception would have taken a lesser ninja much longer. It just goes to show that you don't always have to have the most powerful jutsu or be the strongest to be a great ninja.
Okay, so onto the pairing war debate:
I don't know why, but I didn't have any disappointment or anything after seeing her thoughts about Sasuke. He was only her childhood crush for most of her life. It's only been recently that she's seen how far he's fallen and trying to completely forget those feelings is going to take a while. I think she has pulled out the root of her feelings for him, but there's still a scab that's healing and the dull throb of pain from remembering who she used to like.
Also, if you think about the fact that she doesn't really know the love-letter guy very well, but he makes an assumption that she has great choice in men without knowing her past. He's basically put her on a pedestal making her out to be infallible in her decisions. I think the completely unflattering picture of Sasuke is there to show that her decisions aren't as infallible as the love-letter guy makes them out to be. And as others have stated, she's probably ashamed of how she wasted most of her childhood fawning over someone who really hasn't turned out to be a "great" guy.
We all have to remember that this story is still ongoing. There are certainly parts that stand-alone, but I don't think that this is one of those times. I think as the story progresses, Sakura's thoughts about Sasuke at that point in time will become more clear, just as it became clear this chapter what was really going on with psycho-Neji/Zetsu.
Until Sasuke suddenly grows a heart and confesses his love to Sakura or Naruto actually talks to Hinata more than a few scenes; then Narusaku isn't in danger.
Oh, love-letter guy. You live to see another day. But when next you are drawn, be prepared to meet your doom.

For the newcomers, you are very welcome here so long as you comply with the house rules.
Keep it positive guys, we've had this in the past just to come back with a stronger narusaku moments (Sakura's declaration to Sasuke when he left followed by Promise of a Lifetime, Hinata's confession followed by Sakura hugged Naruto, Sakura attempt to kill Sasuke followed by Naruto epic rescue, and many more). I believe Narusaku is a great pairing, regardless what happens in the end. I think most logical fans, especially those which doesn't ship any pairings agree on this.
Naruto and Sakura is a great couple. Believe it!

"I'm sorry I didn't believe. But I'd given up believing in so much, until I met you. From the first day I saw you, you were everything I ever wanted to believe in. You can do this, Diana. I know you can...But I have to go."
"What? What are you saying?"
"It's okay, this is what I came here to do. I can save today, but you... you can save the world."

@coolcatjas and reddelicious, and pharix too: outstanding catch, guys. He is definitely illustrating Sakura like a main character. Look at the difference in her actions here vs. when she went after Sasuke. Her poses were weak, her actions ineffective. So he's really drawing her strong here. Great job with both llustration comparisons.
Also, did anyone else think when she pounded Netsu that Inner Sakura was probably raging "Oh HELL No! Nobody's ever sneaking up behind me again!" lol - maybe it was just me thinking she learned a lesson from the last entanglement with Sasuke's chidori.
edit: Sasuke with chidori! The very pic in thiagoSPTN's post!

I apologize for my earlier panic and rage haha. It seems I'm not the only one though. Good job though people, on getting others to calm down. I must say, that spoiler really juked us out and made us panic and whatnot. We didn't see the picture, only the script, so we had no idea that she was looking all depressed when she thought of Sasuke. However, I really don't think that changed much.
Sasuke is on her mind, and that really shattered my image of her telling Naruto "I love you" to be truthful. I'm sure she does love Naruto, but not in the romantic way. Many claim that Sakura only thought of Sasuke because she used to love him (in that panel) but really stop being in denial you all have to face that facts that Sakura is MADLY in love with Sasuke!!! I hate to admit it! Really! I'm a die hard NaruSaku fan and I love everything about it, but it's the truth.
I love this forum and all... but one thing I noticed, was a tool that most of you used to appease the panicers, which was overanalyzing that one panel. Some things just have to be taken at face-value and you needa suck it up and face the facts. Our personal bias really gets in the way... And an over analyzed aspect was when people claim that panel to be an exampleof Sakura transitioning to loving Naruto. Uh people... Naruto was no where in that whole entire page
I just think that most of us over anaylze and hold way too much hope in our hearts sometimes. Kishimoto isn't a perfect writer, and neither are we perfect. Please don't treat the panicers like they're some disgusting humans. You're human too. I paniced too. We all got emotionally involved and some got attached to this couple too! It actually makes me happy to see such devoted people to this pairing, cause it's something I enjoy supporting, following and discussing too. Another reason we shouldn't analyze so much is because you don't want to falsely raise the hopes of others. I think the reason that we all paniced and havoc was released in that certain spoiler discussion was because we all beat the crap out of all the moments and debatable topics back in the Great Narusaku Debate Thread. Seriously, I stopped posting there and grew tired of all the overdone and sometimes unbelievable things people added into moments and thoughts and whatnot that made me really say "Really? You're making up stuff now to further support this couple?" I'd love to rant about how this couple world work, but when people starting using material and make up crap that isn't even IN the manga... I have to draw the line and I wouldn't want to plant false information in our community.
So I beg of you NaruSaku fanclub, don't overanalyze every damn thing that Sakura thinks of that has to do with Sasuke or Naruto. If it's Sasuke she loves, it's Sasuke she loves... It makes me depressed I know, but if you ever need other nice romantic anime/ecchi/harem/drama just ask me, I assure you it'll take away your depression or get your mind off this (in some's opinion) fail-turd-manga pairing/story.
I can see where those people who want to abandon this manga come from. It's so frustrating. Kishi has been playing marry go round with all these pairings and it only makes them look bad.
If you got anything to say to me about how this was an up or positive turn for NaruSaku please.
Do so.
I really can't see how you can show that to me while sounding neutral. It'll only sound bias if you ask me.
As of now I believe NaruSaku = 30% chance SasuSaku = 70% chance, that'll change over the many more chapters Kishi plans to torture us with. And for those who wanna say something about "Oh wow this is a damn action story don't get so caught up." This is a damn club for this pairing, let people get emotional if they want to! If it gets outta hand tell them wasup. But don't bash members character bashing is bad enough here guys. I'm sad with this turn of events too, but don't start attacking eachother cause of it.

And Neji was trying to impress Hinata?

It also reminds me of the conversation that Hiashi had with they two,
saying that they had to treat themselves as "comrades" in this war.
