actually I disagree that she would have rejected him for that.

Assuming he would have gotten to speak to her, her reaciton would have been quite different from what people think. What she wanted from Sasuke was acknowledgment.

for Naruto to speak that daydream as himself would quite frankly have thrown her for a serious curveball.

at the time she was under the misconception that he didnt understand her at all. for him to stand there and say what she was daydreaming would have stunned her.

its safe to say also given Kushinas statement about what minato said about what she viewed as her worst feature, that for naruto to say such a compliment to her would have been a powerful moment.

now im not saying she would have jumped right into his arms or anything. but she would have almost certianly began to look at him differently and a conversation could have ensued similar to what occured in canon.

Yeah, look how she reacted to Rock Lee's words in the Forest of Death- and she has nothing but feelings of friendship toward him; unlike with Naruto where as early as chapter 5 she was exhibiting a subconscious romantic attraction to him. Yeah, if Naruto had said it without henging into Sasuke's form I think she would have been stunned speechless and just stared at Naruto wide-eyed. Naruto might have perceived that as a negative reaction but I think it would have triggered a bit of Sakura's subconscious attraction to become conscious a bit quicker and it really would take on a triangle in her mind, her crush on Sasuke vs this other kind of slowly growing romantic attraction to Naruto.

I have not logged in in a looong time, but this chapter was so touching I had to comment on it. Like many people have said, I felt warm while reading this chapter. Naruto's happiness was so contagious. While reading I could not help thinking that his mom definitely has a Sakura air about her. I cannot wait for the next chapter. So touching

They're likely sealed away for good but that doesn't rule away the possibility of Naruto visiting them in his mind when he gets in trouble or near death.

Does anyone here think of starburst when thinking about Naruto(orange), Sakura(pink), Minato(yellow), and Kushina(red).


I'm pretty sure that her crush on Sasuke is a thing of the past and moved on sometime during the time skip, which leaves me to believe that if Naruto complements Sakura's forehead, she'll but two and two together and realize that it was Naruto disguised as Sasuke that complimented her forehead.


But my personal curiosity is would there be a comedic moment with Sakura punching Naruto yelling at him for not complimenting her forehead as himself and not in disguise with Naruto stating that he thought that he would be rejected and Sakura stating that she would have at least known it was him or something along those lines?


Of there would be a heartfelt moment and all first, then the comedic moment.


Anyways the chapter was great, loved the panel were Kushina was beating up the boys that picked on her with her body all black and demon like in a kung fu pose and her red hair flowing around in the air. THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!


Kushina became one of my favorite female anime/manga characters. Also a lot of narusaku parallels in that chapter. Looking forward to the next one.


P.S. Didn't that little section on the last page say that Naruto would fight the nine tails next week or was that just a little thing to get the readers hyped up?

quite probably there will be a comedic moment in that regard. the key is that the comedic moment wont interrupt the romantic one like it did in earlier moments. instead itll be a part of the romance and will solidify the pairing.

as to Sakuras crush. Anyone whose read my thoughts on the bench scene knows what I think about it. while she may have moved on from the feelings for sasuke she still has the mistaken impression, the illusion of him in her head. and thats why the bench scene needs to be addressed. So she can move on permanetly.

I agree too catsi Sakura may have move on from Sasuke completely but deep inside she still sees the illusion Sasuke who complimented her forehead from back at ch 3. I'm sure she hasn't forgotten that day it was the day the boy she likes has actually said the words in her head, the exact words she wanted him to tell her. Sadly for her it was Naruto the one who made her dream come true and once she finds out that it was Naruto she will finally made her decision to follow her heart for good.

I have to agree with you as well Catsi, if anything you said it better yourself in your stories that Sakura has the impression of Sasuke still liking her when it was Naruto who cast that supposed genjustu on her, it's only a matter of time before it get solved.

whats interesitng about this whole bench scene confrontation is that there are two possible ways it will unfold.

Paradox Jast in his Whirlpool Country story writes a scene where Naruto just casually lets it slip that he likes her forehead in the same words he spoke under the henge. a shocked Sakura is stunned and as he explains it to her that ir was him in a henge she embraces him more fiercely then she did before.

My stories posit a different means. in which Sakura confronts Sasuke about that moment and it is Sasuke who confirms the bench scene as being naruto who is responsible.

In essence both scenes bring forth the moment from two different directions either of which can happen in the manga in some fashion.

confronting it via Naruto provides in a way the final surprise for sakura where she opens her eyes to Naruto and sees that he is her soul mate.

confronting it via Sasuke adds in a layer of drama to the moment because in many ways that bench scene is a part of whats always driven Sakura to pursue Sasuke and to get stronger. that small sliver of hope and for sasuke to tell ehr that would shake things up big time for her.

but it would also cause her to step up to a whole new level of udnerstanding of both guys.

Maybe Naruto will see his parents interact in the movie when he goes back in time 4 years before he was born. I know it doesn't count but it would still be neat to have a scene like that, especially if Kushina starts off the scene giving Minato a punch because she thinks he's done something too dangerous alone, then she embraces him. (exactly paralleling Sakura to Naruto in chapter 450)
