It depends on how will be the reception of the one-shot but what makes the concern if Kishimoto rushing to end Naruto soon to start this series which means that asspull everywhere and he wont care about the development of his story he will be more concerned about doing a meh ending and rushing things to the end.

I don't think Kishi is that stupid, or at least I hope he isn't.

If he's deliberately rushing and making a half good ending that'll leave a lasting impression on his fans, which could cause a reduction on his future readership. In other words, if Kishi wants his next work to be looked at positively by the masses then he must deliver an ending for his current work that doesn't disappoint.

yes but that doesn't mean that will be serialized by force. A oneshot could be serialized or not... depends on how success it will have... Kishimot created two oneshot during Naruto, Bench! (3 years ago) and now this one called "Mario". Maybe after he finished Naruto he will one of these oneshots since he's a successful mangaka since he's already a great popolarity thanks to Naruto.
But depends on his desire to continue to be still mangaka ... In an interview released on last summer, he admitted that he was getting tired and would gladly spend his days in the hot springs (the so-called "onsen"), clearly more a place for old people than young people lol

Ah, so I was right about him taking a break. Well being a dad and a mangaka could make him feel incredibly old. Lol.

I agree. I don't think he will do something dumb. I just imagine:

Sakura: Naruto, kick Sasuke's ass, this is your girlfriend talking!
Naruto: Wait, when did this...never mind...I'll kick his ass. Hopefully it will last longer than the so called last fight of KHR. I think I'm safe...right?

I don't think he will stoop that low.

Oh, I did not know that, or maybe I just forgot about it. tongue.gif

When all is said and done Kishi does deserve a break after all his hard work. Still, I hope that in the future he ponders on the possibility of doing another serialization. It doesn't have to be weekly, he could focus on the monthly or bimonthly magazines. That way we'll have more time to spend with his family and friends.

Speaking of which, isn't Jump Square a monthly magazine?

I also wondered how the Naruto ending will be perceived. It seems that for a couple of years endings were major let downs, for almost everything, thou games seemed to be the ones that sucked the most. ( remember Mass Effect 3 drama) I just hope Naruto's ending won't suck like many series endings.

Kishi finishes all his plots at the end, including the romantic subplots or at least give closure to all his characters in the manga. That in my opionion would be a good ending.

Honestly, everything after the Hidan and Kakuzu arc (with the exception of the Pain arc) wasn't written as well as it should have been.

I think because he has spent a lot of time stretching the manga after Pain arc that many fans are seeing the manga in a negative light. He seems that he wants to cover many things and reveal other things at the same time which caused something like that. But, now, he seems that he's putting the story on a stable track again.

Ironically from what I hear the Hidan and Kakazu arc was actually rushed by suggestion of the editors. It seems Kishi actually wanted to given the Immortal duo a backstory each. I have the feeling it was probably so that we could sympathize with them.

Can you imagine feeling sorry for freaking Hidan? 111189.gif

By the way,

Seeing the mass abuse of Edo Tensei in the manga right now, do you think Orochimaru will Edo tensei Mito and Kushina? Or better said what would be your reaction?

Who's blaming the editors, and for what? I don't see anybody here hating the Hidan and Kakazu arc. I liked that arc.

Orochimaru Edo Tensei Mito and Kushina, I don't think so. He doesn't need them unless he wants information from them on the Kyuubi if he plans something on Naruto ? Don't know.
As for my reaction, if you mean for reviving Mito and Kushina, I will be a bit surprised. If for using Edo Tensei, I'll be: dry.gif , for so many times applying this technique in the manga.

I'm pretty sure that Kishi said in an interview that he wanted to write a romance manga believe it or not. I wonder how that would turn out? headscratch.gif

Kishi should troll the world by saying:

Naruto and Sasuke finally ready to fight each other! The world lies in this battle! Thank you for reading!!!

I think Bobobo did that in the anime version. But yeah, that would be messed up.

I think it was just a joke. It was something about the love between an elderly couple in a retirement home.

The reason I liked the Immortal Arc was because the author didn't give the duo (or at least Hidan) some sappy backstory to make them more sympathetic. Kishi has a tendency to justify/redeem majority of the villains that he introduces:
1) Zabuza- behind his walls, he actually loves and cares for Haku deeply
2) Orochimaru- lost his parents at a young age, and witnessed so much death occuring around him that he became driven to seek immortality
3) Sasori- also lost his parents at a young age and became obsessed with immortality
4) Itachi- turns out he massacred his clan, purposely tortured Kakashi, and drove his brother to the brink of insanity and caused his obsession with revenge, all because he was a true hero kruemelmonsteryn0.gif
5) Pain- lost his parents at a young age, and witnessed so much death occuring around him that he became driven to seek world peace
6) Obito- got friendzoned
7) Madara- mistreated by Tobirama, duped out of the Hokage seat, lost the trust of his own clan, and Uchiha genetics

The fact that we finally got true villains who were complete pricks and acted without any sort of justification made the Immortal Arc that much more unique and enjoyable.

It's one of those breath of fresh air to me and I agree. Though I think Deidara was the same: extreme selfish on his art. I mean even in resurrection, there wasn't any redemption or anything like Sasori went through. Other than that, yeah it was a fun arc. I admit, I think it's one of the few times I actually like anime version more. Could be extras that actually did more good than bad, which says a lot, but yeah.
