So whats the general consensus in japan at the moment? Megi told me it was negative, TakL told me it was positive

TakL is biased.
He is pro hinata so of course he will say everything is cool in the movie of his princess
The truth is that lots of japanese fans are stressed by the lack of logic (too much retcons & asspulls), and the lack of Sasuke and kakashi ( false advertising)

The only ones truly happy are the NH/Hinata diehard fans

The movie is not gonna flop no doubt it since a lot of people already bought tickets but i think it will not be liked by other fans except the nh/Hinata ones

I mean by the spoilers, the last is just another "rescue the Hime" type of movie just like the the first naruto movie, the difference is that in this one the princess is hinata

Like I can handle ns not being canon, but it's like they're not even friends anymore. Kishi went back on his words and said Naruto only liked Sakura as an extent of his rivalry with Sasuke. Manga proves wrong, but do you know how mean and sexist that is? Naruto would never think of a girl like that. I wonder how the nh fans who ship ns as a brotp feel right now? Was it worth it??

The ending was bad enough, now the movie, which I, in fact, hoped for a proper closure. Instead, it only made it worse. Much, much worse.

Agree. All the tickets is already solded out due to the hyping of Naruto, Saskue and Kakashi posters and the tickets was sold before the plot was realised. It's also THE LAST movie in Naruto, so many fans who has followed the manga under a long time will feel obligated to watch the movie. The animation looks glorious and is wellanimated. Hinata's voice actors is super popular, which they really had taken advatgen of. Also Toberi's voice actor who is also a popular singer in Japan. Also the director Kobayashi is also pretty famous. As you see this movie contains alot of famous people, it will make that people who usually don't or haven't watched Naruto will likley watch the movie due to many famous people are in the movie and also they had marketed the movie alot in comicials and products in Japan. So yeah, i'm afraid that this will be the highest grossing movie in Naruto and maybe also beat some others wellknowed movies in Japan.

It's all value in the production, but like many movies, it doesn't always mean quality.

I will say from a visualization stand point this movie looks absolutely amazing with a really kitten storyline. My cousin, Ria, was telling me how it would've been cool if Sasuke's role in the movie revolved around Kaguya's well being. Basically the idea Kishi had in mind on why he's atoning for his sins, but decided to drop. Plus she agreed with my idea of this movie having a Frozen type of message with the movie. Basically a movie that's dedicated to Hinata moving on from Naruto's feelings since he's with Sakura, and Hanabi being that support figure that helps her out. By the end of the movie when everything goes back to normal, Hanabi tells Hinata to be honest with Naruto instead of hiding. Hinata tells Naruto, and he responds with "I know Hinata, but you should know I don't feel the same way. Just know I'll always be there for you as a brother like Neji." Hinata sees Naruto and Sakura walking off, and Hinata gives Hanabi a hug with a smile telling her, "Thank you so much, Hanabi." That's where the movie ends. The message of The Last would've been great if it went this route because no matter what you go through your sibling will always be there to support you. That would've been a great story.

That's true when it comes to thinking of it. I mean it was established in the same arc where Naruto got his RS. Oddly enough, when you also think about it, he somewhat became Ichigo like: jack of all trades. While at least he doesn't see as a great thing, it still doesn't erase the fact he has all that in him to make his path happening. Hard work yes, but still, things are ready. Just have to get it.

Yeah like Ichigo suddenly being revealed to be a Quincy? Lol that was supposed to be Ishida's thing! I hate when authors make the MC garystus.
Let's hope Naruto doesn't become Hyuga clan leader or get Neji's Byakugan or something dumb like that.

Not to mention the absolute blatant hypocrisy and stupidity of the scenario itself. Kishi let SP spit on his work by having Sakura, sakura, of all people insunuate that. How did she "fall in love" with Sasuke? Something tells me it wasn't because he was warm, kind, caring, appreciative etc, of her, nope that was Naruto. I wonder if Ino had anything to do with it? Hmmm

It just goes to show that Kishi is a disgrace as an author for pandering that garbage around. To have Sakura say that her chest tightens when she looks at Sasuke, yeah, tightens out of fear for your life maybe. Kishi should have never, ever tried to write romance, because in the end, he butchered 15 years of hard work with two chapters and a movie. The utter kitten that the past two chapters and the disgraceful messages of the ending, as well as the disgusting statements in the movie just further my sentiment that 699/700 and the movie are NOT real, are NOT the ending because the Naruto and Sakura that appear there are NOT the characters that I loved. If Kishi has a problem with that, or anyone else, they can kitten themselves for all I care, because I will never, and The Rock means NEVER, ever acknowledge this atrocity of an ending.

I wish Kishi never let SP convince him to make this travesty. It's damaging the Naruto series more than the epilogue. At least there you can fill in your own holes with what happened that were more consistent. Logic went out the window with this movie so long ago ....
